Get that boost pressure up and HOLD ON!
Great to see the Magnum on the road, Sky! Being a dumb carpenter, my little brain was frying keeping up with all the fuel system science. The way you explained the MAP sensor and fuel tables made perfect sense. Good teaching video, and the Magnum is looking good cruisin the 'hood!

Nice job Sky. You nailed the MAP explanation. LOL 2 bar = "left the engine alone and hope for the best" 3 bar = "Added ring gap, made sure the pistons and rods are up to snuff" 4+ bar = "I spent a years salary on the rotating assembly". Or another way of looking at it is that 14.7psi (gauge) of boost = approximately twice the power output. So if your stock engine puts out 340 hp, at 14.7 psi...give or take some...you would expect to see ~680. I don't know if the AEM wideband has the capability to do this, but I know with Innovate wideband sensors, you can output a scaled "narrowband" signal so that the computer is happy when running a wideband, and even can adjust fueling without knowing what you want stoich to be (e.g. tell the wideband that 9.8 AFR for e85 is stoich, and the computer thinks it's 14.7.) I know you are a trans tech, so you probably know this, but just in case you don't...You can on some transmissions adjust line pressure. I know I could on the 545rfe I had. Something I'm thinking you will want to do to help the clutches live as long as possible. I liked the feel of the trans in towing mode, so I copied all the tables from the tow mode into the standard mode. This affected a lot more than line pressure as well. It is too early to tell because I know you are still working on the tune, but I think I heard some boost flutter, you might need to change the spring on the BOV or go with a bigger unit. Not sure if you've heard of him but Greg Banish is supposed to be a guru on Mopars since he was a factory calibration engineer for them. He offers tuning classes, but I'm not sure what tuning platform he uses.
@ReignitedAuto

I have seen on the HP tuners that it'll let you mess with the trans tuning as well. I figure I'd better figure out the engine stuff first before I start messing with that too 😄. I haven't heard of Greg yet, I'll look into him 👍. I appreciate you sticking with me through this whole project I know this has been a long one 👊

@@ReignitedAuto Naah, it's going way faster than my own project! At least in the 545rfe, you could jack up the line pressure so high she would bark the tires between shifts. I'm sure it's not good on the clutches, so I turned the pressure much closer to stock. the interesting thing I noted was that there is allowed slip of around 50 rpm for the locked torque convertor stock. 50 being the difference between the engine RPM and the turbine RPM.
Incredible. Just to get the Magnum to this point is a major accomplishment. Look forward to more episodes. 👍

Hi Ski what is the Difference between the 2010 challenger 5.7 and the 2011 - 14 also what is meant by belt offset ? if you could clear this up for me i would really apricate it... you do such a great job explaining the map thanks in advance
@ReignitedAuto
9 ай бұрын
Chris this is a strange one and I only know this because I dealt with it on my 392 C10. I just happened to use a 2010 challenger front timing cover on my engine and only later found out that for 2010 only the accessories have a different offset as compared to the later models. This meant I had to track down a 2010 specific alternator and water pump and crank pulley. It was a pain. Basically the 2010 accessories are tucked just a little closer to the block. I'm assuming belt offset is a reference to that.

Let us here it run cuz
Fun But Brave Project You got there.. But I despise that Nag1 Transmission. It's such a Poorly Responding (Terribly Nagging) Transmission. Because no matter how capable or how much power any engine it's Matted to makes, that Transmission is so slow & Sluggish that it never brings the best out of the engine. It almost feels like it keeps whatever car it's installed in a cruiser and never a performer.
