Installing an INSANE Fuel System! Twin Charged Magnum Ep22

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We are getting so close to firing up the Twin Charged Magnum! This time around we are installing a huge fuel system and finalizing some of the last components that need to be installed in the engine!
Massive thank you to #Deatschwerks for their involvement with this project, I can't wait to try everything out. If you are interested in any of their products please go see them here:

    I just binged every episode of this build. I am a little bummed out, but I'm happy this colossal build goes on. This is first for me, but let me tell you, I can not sit through a half-hour tv show, but I had to watch all of this until now. That says allot for your attention to detail what a dream build.😊

    That is a nice fuel pump system. Wish I would have come across that before installing a Walbro 525 in mine. Had to modify the basket and get the transfer pump from the pass side to all work together. If I run / when I run out of pump with this setup I am going fuel cell in the back and getting rid of saddle tank. With the size of the fuel rails I don't think you will have a problem. Biggest problem with the fuel system is the small line from the tank to the engine, you are overcoming that by using pump pressure all the way and regulating on the return. The problem with running like your setup is that the pressure is built by the restriction. The restriction is the regulator. When running there will be a higher pressure at the first injector and and a pressure gradient down to the last injector and the regulator. This pressure gradient is because of each injector using fuel and lowering the pressure and the restriction of flow in the rail. Your rails made with that large of inside will have very little restriction to flow and the pressure gradient would be negligible. When I think I may have a problem I just set up a pressure transducer on inlet and one on outlet and chart the difference. Don't think you will be able to stuff anything more in front of that car. Would have been good to weigh it before and after. Good effort and progress with a full time job, doing the work and making these videos. Remember to make sure all fluids are in everything before starting. I have a "Friend" that started his and thought the supercharger had oil in it when he received it, looked in fill port and saw some oil on gears. They get loud and stop the engine without oil full up to bottom of fill port. Just saying....

    Keep up the good work Sky! Just got my 2014 RT AWD back from the shop. My father in-law and I tried swapping out the rear driver CV cause the magnetic strip went to shit, and we ended up having to take the knuckle off and bring it to a shop to get pressed cause my 15 ton gear puller couldn't remove the wheel bearing from the cv axle. Napa Auto said it took a penetrating oil bath, a few torches, and 50 tons of pressure to get them to come apart. With a sigh of relief, I went back to my father in-law's to reassemble my rear driver wheel well and... the CV Axle that all of the internet says fits my car doesn't fit my car. I sent it to the shop and they grabbed a replacement in case of manufacturer defect - nope doesn't fit. Chrysler didn't have any helpful information, so they ran through 6 other CV's and none of them fit except the very last which was the Hail Mary of "maybe this will fit?" attempts. Once they got that swapped, they called me and told me to get my cursed car off of their property and that they never want to see it again cause of the hours lost on it lol. ....and now I have a squeaking coming from my front passenger wheel well above 40mph and my tachometer jumps ~100rpm every time it squeaks. FML. Sounds like that wheel bearing is going to shit and needs replacing. I already have the MI-8172 CV in case of more 50 ton rust nonsense, but am terrified that it's the wrong part even though the internet says it is the correct part. Have a great weekend!

    I'm glad DW stepped up and helped you out with the fuel system. It's great to get support for the project like that. One questing I have is why did you decide to mount the fuel filter on top of the engine. Won't that be prone to absorbing heat and putting extra heat into the fuel? Just used to seeing them under the car. I'm with you, excited to see this car on the road!

    I'm not too worried about heating the fuel in that location, there's a surprising amount of air that circulates right there. More importantly I couldn't find a place under the car where the filter wouldn't be hanging down below the floor level. 👍

    I just saw a Facebook post from MoJo GT, who has a stroker 426 Gen 3 Hemi with a Procharger having that issue with one bank going lean at WOT because he had his fuel system setup like yours and had to change it to the "Y" configuration... he has his build on KZread but not sure if he addressed the issue on video yet...

    I like the fabbed up valve covers on the wall. Nt sure if it is an example of your work, or like the bent valve I have, more of a "lesson" LOL :) For the vacuum, are you going to run it all the time, or are you going to install a vacuum canister and a pressure switch? I'm going to have very little vacuum as well with my setup so I've been thinking about both of those options as well. Not sure if the regulators are the same, but I think the SRT4 guys used to drill out the middle of them to bypass them. I can't remember because I paid too much on a stage 3 kit and got the s3 pump/regulator. With the catch can, you could always thread in a nipple at the bottom, run some flex line down the engine compartment to a 1/4 turn ball valve. Then you don't need to horse around with it to drain it. Loving the progress on it!

    Definitely a "lesson" 👍 A reminder of how I made that mistake and how not to make it again. 😄 as for the vacuum pump, it has a built in switch that turns it on or off based on the pressure it senses in the circuit.

    Hello I have been following the channel for quite some time now and would like to start by saying I have the most appreciation for your channel and the context you put out and have always thought the channel deserves more growth and recognition. Your drive to keep it up is admirable. I understand you are busy and like most of us keeping up with day to day I am sure your time is priceless. I was wondering if you could spare some of that time to possibly help me out directly. I know if nobody in my area or anywhere for that matter that is as knowledgeable about the new hemi motors and need to figure it out as soon as I can. My 2013 charger ex police vehicle is my daily and I depend on it to get to a from work to take care of my family that includes my 1 and 4 year old daughters. If I could possibly email you with some details about what’s going on and a bit of history and possibly some videos it would be beyond appreciated. If I could offer pay I would but as of now we are just getting by. Thank you for even reading this if it gets to you and love the channel and hope for nothing but success with it as well!

  • @joeperry8518
    @joeperry8518 Жыл бұрын

    That’s a pretty sweet fuel system, but it does mean you’re going to have to find the next weakest link as the boost gets turned up. 😉 it would be neat to know just how much more you would have to do to the engine to be able to see 1200 hp or so of course the rest of the drivetrain wouldn’t like it very much but that’s easily fixed by making sure the tires slip before something else breaks 😂

    I have a 05' 300C that I did a engine swap this week. I messed up and didn't label my O2 sensors separately. I just labeled them all just O2 not bank 1, bank 2, upstream, or downstream. Is there anyway I can tell them apart.

  • @ReignitedAuto

    @ReignitedAuto

    Жыл бұрын

    I believe they are all the same, at least in how they operate. Usually the upstream will have a dark connector and the downstream has a light connector, but also they will only plug in to one or the other so you can't really mix them up. Side to side makes no difference.
