Bison looking crazy and already getting tournament results...it might be time to pick up a dlc character...
Mf i have no idea what you are talking about??? Beginners guide talking about philosophical concept using the games lingo that we dont know ahahah
That's not a jump cancel... that's like a normal SPD
He is jumping to avoid the grab and then doing spd he explains it very clearly
@@twelvevoltage so canceling a normal into a special is now a normal-cancel? Jump cancels in fighting games exist and they usually refer to canceling something into a jump
@@Doktor_Jones how can you think cancelling a jump into an spd is a normal spd when it literally gives throw invulnerability, what else would you call it
@@Doktor_Jones You're very much wrong and arguing over semantics that are not universal to all fighting games. Jump cancels in SF always referred to canceling the pre jump animations into special moves. Look it up. And for example, jump canceling in dbfz is a normal link into a jump.
This is what we refer to as jump cancel SPD in Street Fighter 6, you jump, then cancel the jump in to an SPD. Its a broadly used term in the SF6 FGC.
does it have to be EX?
No, it can be any strength SPD. The reason I like to use EX-SPD is that it will also catch shimmy attempts, while giving the most damage reward. Light/Medium can also be used to catch both the throw and the shimmy, but they have less damage reward.
Just picked up Gief this week and this video will be a huge help as I work through the ranks.
Thanks a lot for the reply! Keep going, a Zangief guide is coming soon as the old one is not really relevant anymore.
The tip of looking at the fingers while doing the input helped me a lot. Thanks for the video!
I am happy to hear that some of my techniques are helping other players :D awesome feedback, thanks!
Great guide. It's crazy how just having a plan gives you a great place to get started and build up from there.
Absolutely, the gameplan is where the fun begins :D
I'm trying to figure why sometimes the lariat is inconsistent and only lands one hit instead of two causing me to miss the dynomite.
It is because you need to manually time the dfmp before the EX-Lariat, and this can cause it to drop out if done too early. It has to be done quite late in the juggle. Hope this helps!
I saw snake eyes losing to Guile Because he refused to use level 2 or any of this. Why, snake eyes, why?!
i knew tokido's faggett ass would abandon akuma dude cant win without ken ;tokido is a fraud
I liked what you said about Cammy. She seems top tier on paper, but then you look at tournament representation and she's never there. Just a classic case of overrated character tbh. Probably people still live in SF5 and things that were strong there aren't as important here anymore.
Who the F are you? lol never heard of you
yeah, guile is seriously OP, i have old man reflexes and i suck at fighting games, i started playing other characters cause guile felt borderline cheap at times. Once you learn the bread and butter combos forget about it
Zangief is still a bottom tier character, but now, you cannot just get free punish from 2 of his moves. the knee and the wheel, the rest you can still punish for free.
Akuma good but not that good. His low health really hurts him. I’m master Akuma and you notice how fast his life is gone
13:50 Noo, put her on B tier. We manon players love to self victimize...
jamie bottom 1
Give green hand instead of multiple combo's 😊
List show that the game is well balanced actually. Be careful of Lily, i feel like the match up is quiet fun against Gief, but she can destroy shotos really easily. Thanks to the patch, his installs are credible. I think this was on purpose that she didn't get the DLC to choose when you can use his install as Ryu because of it.
If you don't see JP's flaws, it's because your tier list is through the lens of Gief's glasses
I'm a Ryu main and I would never put Ryu in A+ tier. I think the tier list may be a little messed up though because you keep saying A tier even though you put some characters in the A+ bracket. But I digress. I put Ryu in B tier. b+ tier at most. I'd say before season 2 he was C tier. I am glad that you are putting respect on Jamie and Kimberly though. I know that people at the highest level always say that they're low tier, but no matter how I look at it, whenever I face them in the ranked ladder I always feel like they're high tier characters. As for aki, it was only a matter of time before people caught on to how good she was. But now with her recent buffs she is even better now. I instantly knew Aki was going to be a problem when I hopped on Japanese servers in battle hub and got casually destroyed by a Japanese player using Aki. He kept getting these insane combos that felt like they were unstoppable. Like as if there were no gaps. It was always like a two touch situation. And they were 99% consistent too. It was only a matter of time. And no I am not up playing these characters, they genuinely feel very powerful to me. They just don't come with free bullshit moves like Luke, jp and Dee jay.
When you have 10 characters in S tier you know the tier list is ass
Well there’s only 4 tiers. Usually they’d have S, A, B, C, D. 4 there just isn’t enough space to differentiate.
@@TheVeteran919 there's a whole tier he didn't even use you fool
And it’s ZANGIIIIIIIIEF 🤣🤣🤣
Zangief greatly benefits from the Headbutt nerfs. Headbutt was one of the only tools Honda had to compete with Gief's neutral. The changes made the matchup way way tougher for Honda. For the characters where Headbutt wasn't critical, He is a little better.
Ken downplayers are punching the air rn
every character that fights akuma is at 9k because of his tendency to output more damage on basic confirms and combos -- imo
It's funny how the tier list still basically looks exactly the same.
Drive reversal is very good with aki because you can't cover both.
Thank you for the Kim love 💕
Don't see a flaw with JP?! He went from having godlike footsies to having below average.
What are you talking about? His buttons are still stupid good

Still the best character in the game

Too late!
Modern Ed being better than Classic is an interesting point
AKI is really strong. Her fireball game isnt personally below average, but she does have the potential to drive rush behind it. But i dont feel in her case thats enough to say her fireball is strong. Easily jumpable. Easily DI able. Slow, which is good against passive, but its a huge disadvantage against other fireball characters and characters who want to rush you down. Her light buttons arent that good, but her medium and heavy buttons are good with spacing, so she doesnt hurt much in the neutral and can be really strong in the mid and mid-far screen. I think she loses pressure from full screen, and can struggle in half the matchups at close. Her combos are really solid. She gets decent oki, probably comparable to Jamie, whereas it could be better, but any better and they may be too strong. Her poison really really is her strength. You apply poison two or three times in one round and its likely you won or will win that round. Her wake up game is terrible. She has her OD slide that loses to grabs and wake up drive reversal. Both costs two bars. Both can be baited out against the pressure of S tier characters. Overall, with the season 2 patch buffs for AKI, she has become a lot more fun to play with. She is really strong, but can quickly get blown up if you lose patience in the match.
Cammy in A+ tier was a mistake....
Gief better then honda is crazy too.
@@EdgeO419 Honda is the worst gimmick character in the game
@@EdgeO419you might be new, honda is struggling a lot lol and gief is mid-high tier easily
Blanka is B tier
No game knowledge confirmed.
Is your head okay? Blanka b tier ?
Ken never fell from S tier lol the Ken downplay was funny. Luke was almost unanimously agreed on being in a class of his own within the community. But Ken was never worse then Chun, Guile, Juri or Deejay. So its no way he fell from grace and then all of sudden rose up. Ken also was the most played character throughout the whole first year of SF6 through every patch, battle pass, quarter, month, week and day of the year. People downplayed him because they had some much experience against him and most players do similar things since he is a Shoto, of course over that amount of time and experience he will feel easier to fight against, but he was never not an S tier character. In my humble opinion.
Well said my friend 👏
It's crazy that some people even need to say this. If you think Ken is outside of Top 5, you're delusional.
Gotta love Ken downplayers lmao. No matter how many arguments you pull explaining why Ken is a top 3 character, they'll either disregard it or say some bs like "oh x top player said otherwise." It's like Ken consistently placing high at majors had nothing to do with his character's strengths at all. Mf literally has every tool that defines sf6 meta from fb to dr, low forward drc, invincible dp, infinite ways to get you to the corner through side switches and run tatsu, etc. Apparently those aren't seen as worthy to be a top 3 character.
Thank you
Thank you veggey!
Taking notes over here
Can you make an updated guide?
hi there, i'm new to your channel thanks to yt's algorithm :) i just want tp contribute a tiny bit since you didn't mention/show this in the video so i'm assuming you're not aware of it yet: there's another alternative for the punish counter crHP midscreen combo using 1 drive meter 2HP (PC), DR 6MK, 3MP xx Lariat which you showed here for 3165 dmg, to just do Borscht Dynamite after the DR knee(6MK) for 3274 dmg but worse oki i guess. So the entire sequence is 2HP(PC), DR 6MK, TK Borsch Dynamite.
You make a good point, but I think you would only want to do that foe a kill, as the lariat and corner carry is quite a lot better than air spd :D
i agree, as i myself go for the lariat route most of the time due to better oki and corner carry :)
I'd argue the backthrow change is a buff but really the throw people should have been using for corner side switch is 2 throw anyway. I've seen too many top level Giefs literally lose games to guessing wrong on backthrow then getting put in the corner blender again by fowards jump, and being unable to shimmy means you have to interact with every perfect parry/reversal attempt directly when you go for meaty strike. Backthrow even despite the distance change still has issues where you're still in range of 2MK abare if you're respecting reversals. Gief mix is strongest when you're at spaced L.SPD range but they can't backwalk out of it because this is the range where not only everything is unreactable for your opponent, but they can't cross you over casually with forwards jump and your L.SPD also outranges almost all relevant abare here. 4 throw never was the best throw for establishing that on corner side switch.
Punish crHP into stab OD lariat LVL 1 is automatic timing in corner 😮
Thanks a lot for this
Would love to see in depth guide for 2.0 gief!
I will make it, I just need to play around with the buffs more and see what I feel is a good way to teach other players to play the char :D
