This video is sooo good! For me the biggest challenge in getting into fighting games was not learning combos.. But understanding what to do, when. For example what do i do when the round starts? how do i get close enough to do the combo i practiced for hours? Why do i get rushed down so easily? YOur video helps me to start very basic and small and build layer uppon layer. As you mentioned, there is a simple grand idea or goal but the game gives you tools for and against every situation. You have to isolate this situations and then you understand the game mechanics bit by bit and improve your gameplan do adapt.

First thing you should learn is how to actually do the characters moves! Cus man is some characters moves super ez why others are fking impossible. Luke's rising uppercut was/is my first hurdle. Forward to down to down-forward to punch without going to neutral, as a complete rookie playing on a xbox controller, is killing me. There is no way to do it reliably from what I can tell. You try to input it slow and it's all over the place, spam the probable move and you get it one out of 4 times. Why they put this shit in instead of a simple quarter circle hurt my brain. But ofc there is a quater circle one, sandblast. And that just messes it all up even more. I must be the only new player who have a really hard time controlling my character as I see NO ONE TALK ABOUT THIS!? Everyone is having fun talking baout combo's and counters and reactions and frames etc and here I am trying to do the first move and it's not possible! BLARGH!!!!

I am also on an Xbox controller with classic setting and forward to down to down forward is very difficult

@@chase6227 I... gave up and tried modern controls. After struggling going to modern was very fast to learn. It solved most of my problems but removes some moves. And cuts the dmg. But its way more intuitive. Please try it and save yourself some hand and mental pain! :)

Mf i have no idea what you are talking about??? Beginners guide talking about philosophical concept using the games lingo that we dont know ahahah
