When this came up, I remembered that I had the collection still sitting unplayed. So I played through it before watching and wow- So I wanted to add that the second test seemed to read as a sorta... simplified Dark Forest Paradox. Stay quiet in the maze forever, attack first, or wait to be attacked. But the solution is really to say hello and call for help, trusting that what's out there will be as thoughtful and capable of empathy as we as.

If people want to play the Penumbra games today one tip I can give is that if you're having trouble, adjust your desktop & screen settings. Stuff like desktop resolution, DPI etc are used by the games. It's one thing I had to troubleshoot in order to stream them when I did.

avoiding the latern spirit is actually symbolic of them keeping quiet and dun say anything in order for them to continue living the white terror era, the lantern spirit could represent the police or anyone who is on the look out for people who is hiding away from doing banned stuff hence why it say do not panic or like do not act suspecious in front of them. latern spirit in the movie said thing like "report any suspecious activity, the country will be proud of you" something like that which hence why I think it just represent anyone who is devoted to the country is actively looking out for any suspecious person

Excellent video! I loved these games so much that I _preordered_ Amnesia (something I'd never done, and would not do again until TLOU Part 2). I clicked on this video thinking "ah, it's been a long time since I've seen someone play this game" and was pleasantly surprised that it was more of a summary/analysis. Immediate sub from me. I find it very interesting that the Tuurngait is said to be more "rational" or intelligent then humans yet it faulters at very simple logical fallacies, it is more like a child with power it thinks it understand but truly does not akin to a foolish god.
