I do electronics repair, fix test equipment from Fluke, HP, Agilent, Keysight, Boonton, Rohde & Schwarz, Racal-Dana, Philips, Marconi, and many more, as well as doing other general electronics repairs on whatever I get on my bench.
I am keen to work with brands to review products, so get in touch (I will only reply to brand owned email addresses, no gmail etc. there are too many scammers out there)
I do reviews, mailbag, projects, Arduino, CB radio, and fix electronics, or show anything that I happen to be fiddling with.
I believe repairing items and not contributing to a wasteful throw away society is essential, I want to work with companies that support repair, such as Keysight, Fluke, or any other manufacturer that publishes service manuals and diagrams, or that provide repair parts (so no, not you Apple) !
I upload new videos every week, so SUBSCRIBE and click the BELL !
Anyone into radio will probably know my website: www.radiomods.co.nz
Thanks for watching!
Scott.

Didn't I see this already? Re-uploaded or some tweaks?
@@originalmianos this was part of a different video, I split it out and changed some bits to cover the firmware update of the programmer by itself.
The last time I tried to flash anything in a Mac, I got arrested. My luck at doing a successful flashing was so bad I think somebody put a HEX on ME. 🙂
I think in your past life, you were Noah. Why? You order two of everything 😂
the 681 or 683 is much better display wise. The only bad thing about this meter is that its hard to measure voltages below 0.8v. I think its because of the auto detect feature. I have the 681 version and also a Fluke 179 and tbh unless you're not specially dealing with below 0.8v then you wont notice the difference
Will this do UART decoding?
@@no9udt nope
@@TheDefpom Thank you. I just ordered oneof these on Amazon and I hope this will blow the doors off my old DSO2D15
SPEAK UP CAN'T HEAR YOU OR UNDERSTAND!
@@DonWyo HOW ABOUT NOW?
You are having way too much fun with your caulk tube condoms. Are they ribbed for her pleasure? 😉
do you by any chance know what are the size and specs of the sattelite speaker , i need to replace mine since it has a crackling sound coming out of it , looks like the cone is ripped.
i find that using extender boards put a lot of excess stress on the contacts, so the spring action get buggered and contact errors start to appear. i would not plug the zapper in to my phone, as to get a shock some current must flow, to flow there must be a return connection back to the phone. which i expect will be a capacitive connection via some part of the phone case. so you will be in affect spiking your own phone in random places as the current tries to return to the source.
The wee rubbers for the sealant nozzles aren't a game changer. I found you have to make sure you pull it down tight and evacuate as much air as possible and even then over time there's still an issue. Hmmm, a rubber band around them might help.
LOL. "Wee rubbers"
On my 3D printer & laser cutter I use a Wifi enabled SD card and access the card via IP address/web browser.......perhaps there is a Micro SD card version, or you could use an adaptor.
How can I set output to be -24vdc and +24vdc as dual power supply?
@@chanvu1077 you can’t, it’s not a dual rail power supply
In the thumbnail you look annoyed even though you're giving thumbs up.
I posted the teardown of the 11710A on EEV Blog that you mentioned. Looks like we bought units off Trade Me at the same time, from the same original owner. I wonder if there are at least another 5 floating around somewhere from that same range.
KZread makes me feel like it's just me and a few thousand Aussies...
The first CB looks like a modern unit made retro.
I've been using the fluke 107 for a couple of years as a heavy equipment mechanic and its solid. Waaay better than the bluepoint multimeter
If you find a schematic or service manual for that radio, you are magical. I tried to get the service manual for a Road King which is a rebranded Uniden radio. I filed a FOIA (Freedom Of Information Act) request with the FCC since the radio was FCC type approved. Eventually, after Uniden requested that my request be denied, I replied with my rebuttal, but the FCC sided with Uniden. Uniden hid behind trade secrets laws so they did not have to release the service manual. 😮 When asked what manufacturers I now recommend, I recommend the ones who work with independent services shops. 😊

Not worth the money i own several they are all in a drawer never even use them anymore
Good job :)
pretty awesome modification. I’m going to be installing CB radio in my truck soon probably also going to build a amplifier thanks for sharing your fines
i remember the challenge ( high school electronics shop ) of designing and etching my OWN boards. long before it was ever thought of our project was to design and OP-AMP which of course is what ppl call a taser. it could kill someone ( if it was the right person of course with health complications present ) with a 9v battery. IF they hadnt locked the teacher in the tool crib for a whole lunch period i might have excelled in electronics. of course they needed a scapegoat to blame it all on so it came down to the grades ppl had in theory class. so they wanted to make me switch to another shop and instead i left the school and never graduated past 10th grade. it wasnt all due to that but troubles in the home life which was nothing but living with 3 alcoholics i had to fend of from trying to kill myself since i was 2 years old. ( my mother, sister, ( whom is still trying to complete the job 40 yrs later ) and step father ) we were all robbed... thanks for the video even this late on in life its inspirational ! even without radio (s)hack :)
what does the NZ radio authority say about the use of modified CB radio's, which is illegal in the UK. I did find something about the "RCM mark or R-NZ label" but not much else in the 5mins I spent on the search. seems strange you went for what would seem to be a unique band plan for you CB's. was this to try and create a home based industry to met the demand? Not used a CB since they made it legal in the UK, that took all the fun away. 🙂
Ahhh, the pre '81 AM days here in the UK. A family member 'allegedly' imported AM radios back then and sold them. Then in '81 went legit when FM was legalized with a nice wee trade business supplying Scottish shops, petrol stations etc with CB gear. I was the teenage tech guy helping out doing mods and repairs.......never for one minute thinking it was a tad illegal of course!
@@IanScottJohnston Making aerials for the car that did not look like CB one's was fun. the closest commercial one was called a DV27 if i remember correctly. Looked a bit like a normal fiberglass car aerial, with an adjustment for length on the top. More fun when you thought you were a bit of a rebel. 🙂
@@TheEmbeddedHobbyist Yes, the DV27 far outsold all other car aerials......and the one for the home was the Dominator if I remember!
@@TheEmbeddedHobbyist all CB radios here have to be modified from overseas, often based on Australian radios, which are based on American ones, rules are basically the same apart from the operating frequencies.
Cool!......I always liked the Uniden radios.....
The FCC Rules mean nothing in Australia and New Zealand. It's funny that they pack them in radios that are sold elsewhere, especially when it states: “for export only.”
This video is the only thing that saved my project from being a complete disaster. U da best!
Thank you very much for the information. I opened mine to check if the Backlight was installed, unfortunately not. I bought mine in 2017 and it could be by then it was not possible. Anyway, I would like to say thank you once again. for taking you time for me.. Friendly greetings
Ordered the 703, got shipped the 702 with 2 probes: Crap!
Thanks a lot for sharing this video. It is very interesting to find out the Backlight functions.
Note all units can do it, it depends on if the backlight was actually installed in it, I’ve heard from some people that theirs did not have the backlight LED installed.
Please send to me a picture for wiring diagramme of this pump
They are in your cup 😂
The model looks great. Good job.
Repair was always king until companies decided they could make more money selling throw away products. They refuse to release service information.
4:45 good enough for 'strali..... ehw new zealand :)
Ayyy it's a bømb! hehehe
Or you can use a Noctua fan and never have to replace it ever again. Also i would have removed the grill in that metal cover, to much airflow restriction. (and noise)
A faan in a sealed box with no vents ? Surely that would get hot if you closed the lid I have a couple of Talentcell UPS modules for my cctv, 7 bullet cameras and dvr, both modules charged from one charger, charges at 1.5 amps during the day, rising to about 2A overnight when the IR turns on. Best of all, no fans.
Very clear and helpful. Watched this before installing and glad I did. Creality instructions were very inadequate. I had already added sprite direct drive extruder (which helped greatly, but is weighty). Thanks for this video which made everything straightforward.

I did the “email the executives” thing the other day with our energy company, it absolutely works. After the CEO replied his staff bent over backwards at every turn…..LOL.
Is this oscilloscope worth it compared to the Siglent SDS 1204 XE in the same 4-channel and 200 MHz version? What is your opinion
This one is more powerful with higher resolution. If that might matter to you then get this one , they are both good scopes
@@TheDefpom ok thanks 👌
