You are Farr-King "dead-on" with your theory of Tantalum capacitor behavior ! We thank YOU .......again. And again. You're duh BEST !

Nice wee unit, looking forward to seeing how stable and accurate it is. That flying lead is only supposed to have the croc clips on it, the other banana tails work great as antennas picking up noise!

Can't beat a short wire antenna when measuring nanovolts to provide a little bit of extra amusement😂😂. Surprised that there no guard option on the input.

We used to use 90deg sockets for mounting rotary 8pin dip switches, saves on a second pcb and cables etc. A lot less work for production.

Didn’t do one, I left it powered up with my other gear for several hours and it drifted pretty much into spec, I only tweaked it slightly.

If you can't solder with the amount of flux already in the solder then your board is contaminated, your tip is worn out, or you should consider going to soldering night school. 😂😢😅😊

I was taught how to solder in Secondary School in 1973. I always used rosin cored solder and never used any extra flux.

Mr Rosmann would be offended! But yes I only use flux when I need to when the joints don’t look great or if I know the material I am soldering is less than good enough such as old terminals etc. the only exception really is when I’m doing SMD as that much a huge difference getting parts to sit nicely

@@TheDefpom mr Rosmann uses flux a lot for taking off components which is a valid use and then sweats the replacementon. For tph it's quite normal to refresh the joint by adding solder which is in affect adding a little new flux. But if you're going to use new solder to remount a component then flux is not needed.

@@anthonyshiels9273 I started soldering pcb's for avionic equipment when I was 17 and now in my 60s having worked in electronics design most of that time. Flux was something that always came in the solder, unless you were tinning wires were the wires were dipped in the flux before being dipped in the solder pot. Non fluxers stand united:-)

Keithly gear always seems thrown together to me. It works good but the mechanical design is crude.
