I think this underlines that the community would really benefit summary / overview videos like this.
I find the dev comment on player housing taking more players out of the Cities quite interesting. Blizz is great at seeing what works in other MMOs and implementing it with their own polish over it. All they need to do is look at ESO's play housing. It is lucrative as items for it can be found on the Cash Shop, and also in game via exploration and rewards. ESO limited the houses to having Crafting Stations, and a Target Dummy. Anything else you need to do, you do in a City.
Worldkiller Iris Item Level 233 Binds when picked up Neck +119 Stamina +71 Critical Strike (0.39% @ L70) +71 Haste (0.42% @ L70) +71 Mastery (0.39% @ L70) Requires Level 60 "A living symbol of despair, borne by the nemesis of a doomed eternity. The fate of Azeroth will be shared by all her children."
What happens to Azeroth will also happen to its denizens. If Xal'athat turns the world soul void, will the denizens become void? In one of the cinematics, she says that in the end, she will have our fury.
is the same guy that had the meltdown and now hes back ?? thought he was done with wow
I love how i can never talk to my BF about how bad wow is for new players because he gets so defensive lmao so fun
What I want, more than player housing, is a Lore Hall laid out like the vault of archavon, where you've got an entry point and four corridors leading to different wings. One wing leads to your library, where every book and copies of every lore statue you find are kept for your perusal. One wing leads to the Archaeology museum, where there's a different room for every archaeology race, and each rare solve is on display. One wing leads to the Relics museum, where you can display armour sets and weapons of your choice on mannequins. One wing leads to the Theatre, where the Lorewalkers have a stage where they'll play those MoP Lorewalker Cho stories, but also provide you access to rewatching any cutscene or entering any LFR raid. Other than that, no power. Just an account-wide explorable space you slowly fill out as you discover lore.
16:20 Asherons Call had buildings that sound like that
11:35 100% agree, its should have been a base option to pic the race architect. I could so see a super chill native style of the Toren or any of the Elfs
14:28 there was SOME option with the garrisons, not grate but there was the option to choose what race faction was your guards & sadly just 2 holiday decorations X-mas & Halloween, I like the Halloween you get ghosts & ghost battle pets you can capture.
loved the garrisons & Turgasht but I never felt forced it was content I wanted to do, only rl thing that bothered me with the latter was adding the dame timers, timers take all choice out & makes it about effeminacy & that not fun. I loved being able to just stop a run walk away to do something but then the timers. I personally saw Tourgasht as the chalice instances from Bloodborn.
still wounder what cut the main citys from WoD it clearly was guna happen by the teleport items that are in game that send you there.
I love the parallels between Norgannon being the mastermind instead of Aman'thul just like the Primus being the mastermind over the Jailer
Even now, garrisons are still paying out a ton of gold for accounts so many years after they were implemented.
yup, WoD was fun, but time constraints and budget cuts ruined what could've been the best expansion yet. then Legion was born from sacrificing WoD, so... kinda warranted... i hope that with the success of MoP remix, they eventually Remix WoD and add content that they previously scrapped, finish what they had started after 10+ years.
also yeah, when i want Player Housing, i play Minecraft, i dont play WoW. i know that Player Housing sounds like something that should be a thing, but fundamentally is BAD for WoW.
Player Housing, a case where the meme "You Think You Do, But You Don't." is wholly accurate.
They should look at Tibia housing system
I used to played a game back before wow was a thing. They had guild halls that were instanced by a portal. You had to pay with a orb to create the guild and were charged another orb every month to keep it active. But to gain orbs you had to fight against other guild to be the first to grab an orb off a pedestal. They spawned at set times, I think the pedestal would tell you how long until it spawns again. It was sooo much fun. Some guilds were rich in orbs lol. Also they were in rooms where max levels were set so only a lvl 5 can enter in one and lvl 100 can enter in the other. So you would have different alts parked at set levels. The mobs around would around the same lvl so it wasnt easy to get to either. Dang I miss playing Astonia now.
In ESO player housing is normal feture. It gave me the same feeling and time sink as transmogs in WoW.
does anyone know what the first background song is?
Always practice humility! Even when we think we know everything, there's still the chance that we're wrong
Housing should be a warband feature.
PVP whining about their in ability to do world PVP ganking because many players were busy enjoying themselves in their Garrisons killed player housing forever until Blizzard decide to ignore PVP whining which they show no signs of doing.
I wish they’d do something similar to how New World did housing. It made the towns feel alive. You’d just see the highest rated house in real time, or your group members home.
I'm the only one who doesn't care about player housing?
Hayven was a great legendary warcraft youtuber. Rest in Peace.
RIP Hayven
I think the way to do it would be similar but Different to Archeage. Their housing was all in the world, strewn about but it was largely owned on a player by player basis. I think they could do that but instead make it guild owned, and have different sized plots for different sized guilds as well as rules so that one guild doesn't just monopolize housing by having smaller alt-guilds. Make the benefits much the same as archeage where it's largely extra crafting skill when in area, extra bank space, maybe farm some old expansion materials. And also place the plots in those sort of dead spots between zones maybe (Spruce up the areas so that its actually accessible, but it is out of the way so as not to break immersion while people are questing in a dark place like silverpine and suddenly you see a house party with nelves twerking on a mailbox)
"it isnt faraway instance that doesnt exist in the world" This statement caused me pain
Interesting how non of the quotes lack any name.
The reason garrisons took players out of the city because it had farming and gold making mechanics, instead of being purely a cosmetic side thing where you can build houses and furniture based on the blueprints youve obtained elsewhere, and show your dungeon/raid/pvp trophies in the "town square" to your friends.
If WoW Devs said they could give us Player Housing but the next expansion would have to come out a year later than it was supposed to, I would say FUCK YES!! And take an extra six months to make it right. WoW is now the only AAA MMO without it and it makes me sad... It is my biggest WoW wish by an incalculable margin.
lame systems and figuring out multiple ways to inject monetization into a pay 2 play game really soaked up that dev time that could have been directed at player housing. gotta have your priorities straight.
i still think garrisons should have been a guild thing. and then slowly built upon during expacs. Like portals and a small harbor, or like floating like dalaran (depending on what the guild choses) and getting orderhalls in it. it's a shame how they handled it
Honestly just make housing a phased part of racial capitals, leave it decorative. If anything, stepping out to use utilities would spread the pop to some of those dead towns like Ironforge and Thunder Bluff.
YEA, if there was player housing in each capital, people would actually bother going there. Imagine it, you're a night elf, and you have a cute little night elf tree house in Bel'ameth.
Or just steal Wildstar's housing, I think it is the best housing system for a game like WoW.
Im pretty sure “drasil” just means tree in nightelf
It means "Crown"
Rip our boy Haven, gone way too fucking soon, what a legend, love you man. Thank you Pyro for reacting to one of his vids, one of the original "Check this out-of-bounds area/random game info about WoW" channel! :)
Player housing is overrated, in my opinion
Pyro really exposed himself as a snarky, passive-aggressive bitch in this video.
I take it from the snarky comments, Pyro has beef with Bellular?
He's skipping a lil too much
Such a heart touching story. Love it
Dude i love the way blizzard telling the expansions story
As someone that hasn't played since WOD and only vaguely kept with some of the story, what in the deep fried lore is going on here and why is azeroth a character? Urgh the rabbit hole calls to me like an old one...
Enjoyed it very much. Especially how you narrated it pyromancer. It was perfect!! Thank you ^^
Heard that cosmo canyon music 1:09:00 ish~
the son of Thrall solo'd a Dungeon Rare, that's a hell of an accomplishment at his age.
2:48 Yeah, that was correct. Majority thought this. Not because of factual information but simply because that was the only thing people could think of.
Dude this style of video is awesome. Would love to see this for other characters.
