@@loamseeker5230 I hope to accomplish small sections for the AT’s 14 State Challenge. I have done Springer Mt and trails from Ga.to NC. As well, a trail from NY to Conn. I did a trail for Mt Washington in NH. The next day I did Katahdin. Just doing what I can by myself. Best wishes.

This was great! I loved the identifying of flora! I’m a little confused though. According to the book, Stratton Mtn is at mile marker 1645 or so. The 1400 mile marker confused me.

You're correct....I am a section hiker, cobbling the trail together as I was able. So when I was in VT, I still hadn't been able to get down south to complete the first 240 miles of trail in GA and NC. I'm done with all the trail now, but my mile markers were my personal ones for most of my hike, not the official ones.

Maine had 3 or 4 really bad wind storms this year. Took a TON of treens down all over the state. I hope the AT wasn't impacted to bad.

I actually think I'm going to have the do the Devil's Lake segments in the off-season. The campground there requires a 2 night stay in the summer, and that doesn't quite work with my hiking plans.

Living near this trail, it seems like a complete failure. Too much of nothing. Too much road walking. I don't forsee it ever being a trail people go out of their way to through hike unless they've done literally every other trail in the country. Besides, who wants to spend 1200 miles in wisconsin.

My hiking partner and I are section hiking the Long Path and it’s been great so far. It looks like there is quite a lot of road walking involved but it’s still been wonderful so far, with AT vibes everywhere. There is no getting away from that white blaze although these ones are turquoise.😂. Enjoy your travels and happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️

My husband is from Wisconsin so I’ve recently had the opportunity to hike a short section in the town of Manitowoc! Totally agree with enjoying the nature and not the roads!
