NOBO Appalachian Trail Maine Part 7 of 8

The Appalachian Trail from Rangeley to Monson, Maine. I'm on trail for another section hike...hike number 25! Watch as I backpack through the beautiful and rugged landscape of Maine over the course of a week. Day 7...on today's journey, I make it from Moxie Pond to Horseshoe Canyon Lean-to, passing by lakes and crossing streams on the way. I climb over Moxie Bald, and I also ford the west branch of the Piscataquis River.

Nice hiking weather except for the heat, and those views were pretty. And I miss living in Northern New England Mountains and picking wild Blueberries 🫐 😋 they are so yummy!!! And that river was pretty intense. Happy safe footsteps to you and can't wait to see 8.

That looked like a big spider web. I would have loved to have seen the creature that made that. Your video quality is extraordinary. Thank you for your extra effort in guidance and edification. Bravo for successfully fording the formidable stream. Cheers to your patience and tenacity. Be well. May nature provide comfort to your feet. Wishing you peace, safe passage and good fortune ahead. Happy Trails!

I'm getting the impression that you are coming back after episode 8/8. 100 mile wilderness and Katahdin on another visit? I'm sure you've heard that it isn't usually this wet in Maine ALL summertime long. Beautiful video! Thank you for sharing!

Hey! That's some beautiful territory you are hiking..I wonder why they call those lakes, ponds? That river crossing looked like it could really be dangerous..I love the way you identify all the plants and things..Thanks so much!

Yes, it is gorgeous! The river crossings made me a bit nervous, it's true. Actually, throughout this rainy summer, the rivers have been running very high, and some folks have been injured (and someone tragically died too). I was blessed that the waters were down slightly.

Those river crossings are total sketch!!! If no bridge, there at least should be a line across to hang on to for balance. Beautiful views, beautiful forest.

I agree...while I obviously made it without major mishap, it was a bit nerve-wracking. And I heard plenty of stories this summer of people who have great misfortune on these crossings.
