NOBO Appalachian Trail Maine Part 8 of 8
The Appalachian Trail from Rangeley to Monson, Maine. I'm on trail for another section hike...hike number 25! Watch as I backpack through the beautiful and rugged landscape of Maine over the course of a week. The last day of this section hike finds me hiking from Horseshoe Canyon Lean-to to Hwy 15 to a shuttle pick-up, fording the east branch of the Piscataquis River on the way.

Flower, I told my wife that I realized why I enjoy your videos so much. You don’t seem to be in a hurry, you show the beauty of the forest, flowers, even the bugs. You also have a very soothing and relaxing voice. Thanks for taking us alone. 😊

Thank you for the compliments! If a person doesn't enjoy the beauty of nature and God's creation when they're outdoors, then they are missing the whole point!
Thanks for taking us along. Thumbs 👍

My husband and I have been following your AT section for quite a while and love your videos. We recently saw that you retired from the USAF; thanks for your service!🇺🇸 My husband retired from the AF after 22 years active duty, and when he retires for the second time in 2026, we are going to do an AT through hike. Keep up the great work!

Yes! I saw a young bull moose on the last section too (on the side of the road outside Andover), but I didn't get him on film. I was so happy that this gal was so chill and just hung out there where I could watch her.
You inspired me to hike the AT little bits at a time! Flower you are a treasure!

I'm so glad to hear that! If I can do it, you can do it!
I met you this day, you were taking a break right next to the trail and I recognized you from your videos. Glad you saw a moose on the drive, because if you remember right you hadn't seen one up to that point. I think I might have told you where I saw one, which was East Chairback pond where there is an awesome campsite by the water (past the canoe). I saw two moose by the pond at dusk, those were the only ones I saw on my whole trip. It is worth the steep 0.2 off trail. It would be on day 2 of your next hike.

I couldn’t believe when you said you were 40!!!😳 No way! I was thinking about 27/28. . . all the hiking is keeping you looking half you age! Congratulations on another section and I look forward to your next one!

Well, thank you so much for the compliment! I truly appreciate it. I do feel pretty young still, but I can't quite keep up with those in their 20's, haha.
PS. Wish I decided to go NOBO like you, it was really tough having the big 4000 footers at the end of my trip.
Thanks for sharing

Just got back from Baxter State Park and hiking Katahdin, make sure to stop at the Daicey Pond Library and take a canoe on the pond. The views of K are not to be missed, weather permitting.

Congratulations on your achievement. All done with a good cheerful attitude, though I'm sure sometimes you wanted to scream at the mud. :)
