Ice Age Trail - Kettle Moraine State Forest North Unit - Part 1 of 2
I'm on a new trail! I'm section hiking the backpack-able segments of Wisconsin's Ice Age Trail, another one of America's National Scenic Trails. For this first trip, my friend Space Turtle and I spend 3 days in the Kettle Moraine State Forest North Unit. We complete the Greenbush, Parnell, Milwaukee River, and Kewaskum segments. In this episode, we begin at the north end of the Greenbush Segment and travel to shelter #5.

Thank you! You too!
Wonderful to see other trails that are not featured in most youtube videos.

I feel like the Ice Age Trail is a harder one to film. There aren't too many thru-hikers because of the road walking. But my goal is to show that you CAN backpack on it, even just in short trips, and it's really beautiful.
So good to see your smiling face again! Love your videos!

I always look forward to your videos! So this morning was a happy moment! Your sunshiny personality and your easy-going vlogging style are just a breath of fresh air! My husband is from Wisconsin so I’ve recently had the opportunity to hike a short section in the town of Manitowoc! Totally agree with enjoying the nature and not the roads!

Thanks for tuning in :)
Flower 🌺 so happy to see this and you going back out on the trail. I will definitely follow along. I am disappointed you are no longer in NY. My hiking partner and I are section hiking the Long Path and it’s been great so far. It looks like there is quite a lot of road walking involved but it’s still been wonderful so far, with AT vibes everywhere. There is no getting away from that white blaze although these ones are turquoise.😂. Enjoy your travels and happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️

Thank you! That's awesome that you're doing the Long Path - that looks like an amazing journey :)
All the best to you on trail. Your chill vibe, flora identification, photography, and conversations on food are welcome to view. What weather are you anticipating, what did you pack, and weight !

Thank you! I'm just doing backpack-able portions of the trail in short trips over the summer and fall, so I'm sure I will encounter all sorts of weather. I am carrying mostly the exact same stuff as I carried on the AT. You can check out my gear video here - kzread.info/dash/bejne/lHl5t69sfbG8mbg.html

Thank you ! Enjoy…..
It's a beautiful trail but yes, lots of Road walking. I hope you make it to the devils lake area before it gets too busy

I actually think I'm going to have the do the Devil's Lake segments in the off-season. The campground there requires a 2 night stay in the summer, and that doesn't quite work with my hiking plans.

@loamseeker5230 it's hard to get a camp site there. I often stay at campgrounds in baraboo but they are a bit touristy
Enjoyed the video and the flowers. Isn't the trout lily actually a bellwort?

Oooooo I think you are correct!! Thank you for the info. I think the photo I took was too blurry for my app to recognize.
Living near this trail, it seems like a complete failure. Too much of nothing. Too much road walking. I don't forsee it ever being a trail people go out of their way to through hike unless they've done literally every other trail in the country. Besides, who wants to spend 1200 miles in wisconsin.
