Watching this 1 year later. Danny does not tune his toms.. bro has had a drum tech for decades
It always amazes me people don't get the hip hop vibe this song gives me. It's Rock but it's got a hip hop feel in my opinion. Tools lyrics always have at least 2 ways to interprete them. For instance this song can be taken to be about Corrupt Government/legal system or Hypocrisy in general or specifically about the legality of Drugs. Or you could even go deeper than that. Many of their songs lyrics are very tounge in cheek. Imo Some have 1 meaning but most have a surface level interpretation and a second deeper level meaning.
I feel like its a dialogue between the addiction and the addict ❤ tool fucking rules every aspect of music
As someone who did listen to this "back in the day," I loved it first for the music, but I also took the message from it. I think it's crazy how much has changed and how much hasn't since this album came out. This and Operation Ivy...it seems like times should change, but they don't.
Oh...and yeah. I'm 95% sure I broke a guy's nose in a mosh pit at a Rage concert. One of the best shows I've ever seen.
Graduated HS ‘94! Loved this band, believed in raging against the machine (90’s war, 90’s criminal justice, 90’s censorship, etc!)! We’re still here, friends; we just happen to be about 50yo! LOL
Music is the key❤
Love is the message! The power weak .crazy president s in different countries are growing 😮🎉❤
i liked seeing it from your perspective (im ukrainian) i also love tims songs for more than a decade and i wanted to interpret the meaning of this song in my way: thins song is many things at once; from one side it tells exactly the story of your feelings toward the other ginger word, from another - by the fact the he caught you in his bait so easily, even though the hint was there all the time (he's unapologetically ginger), he basically catches your own prejudice towards thinking that something is about you when its not (even though it could've been)
I wish you guys would talk less
I think the burden of educating should be on the formal system (which sucks unfortunately), but relying on individuals to teach you as an adult is a burden if they don't want to teach
Go Dawgs! Great review.
Maynard is the singer and lyricist. Here's a video of him in his vineyard: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hWF81MxugdW8kbQ.html
When you build a foundation off of the past ypu get the greatest. Danny is the greatest
Warning De & Dre your favorite TooL song will be the last TooL song you listened too Every other bands magnum opus is just another TooL joint TooL doesn’t do regular TooL is what happened when four genius’s at their instruments got together and agreed to change the music landscape their catalog will be considered timeless relevant and relatable for generations to come. I recently found out I love watching first time listening too TooL joints reactions 🔥👁️💥👀💥👁️🔥🤩🤯🤩💥🔥
loved the reaction - a reaction of a mature men. i respect that even though im an atheist
I believe there are times where Danny is still counting in there. I know most drummers would have to count somewhere in that
He ended up doing country 😂
“I’m not worthy” 😂😂
TOOL Army reporting for duty!
Where yall at?1
Was David Draimen really studying to be a Cantor? Personally, i think he should play Javert in Les Miz.
Bro that shit is so played out, comparing every single white rapper ever to Em Em wasn't even the best white rapper, just the one that they could market to white youth the easiest lmao
Falling In reverse- ronald
I LOVE that sweatshirt! I work in healthcare and say this ALL the time!!!❤❤❤
How’d you let that 🔥 bar get by you!! “I’m a Alpha Nxgga…Bet, can take you from A to Z” 💪🏾
“Navigate life like Im sun zhu” Art of War 🧠!
Please react to 'Ronald' by this same artist, featuring Tech N9ne and Alex Terrible.
FYI: The time signature of the song is 11/8 then alternates with 4/4 ◡̈
Even though I come from a very different country and culture to the one that helped to inspire RATM, I can say - at least for myself and the people I was surrounded by - their music helped us to become the people we are today. Their music wasn’t about violence or intolerance, it was about seeing the truth and questioning the status quo. It was about not accepting what was put in front of you and, at least for me personally, I think music like this helped me to grow into to someone that can form their own opinions. These guys were the poets of our generation that taught us about unity and toxicity of intolerance.
The best Tool song you have ever heard is the one you listened to last.
Subscribed for your Tool reactions. I really like how you're breaking it down and speaking on how these make you feel. Please please use sound only, headphones and lyrics. This is the best way to experience Tool. And give Parabol / Parabola a try. A transcendental experience!
The thing with Tool is that every new song you hear becomes your new "favorite". I have so many favorites I can never just allocate it to a single song.
Yeah every instrument and the singer are doing something different and they get it together somehow. That's why it's so hard to figure out timing and who is doing what. That's TOOL.
Man this dude on the right nailing their exact process of Maynard being a seperate compostional entity from the band from a first runthrough and a few parts in...that's damn impressive bro.
Don't try to count time in Tool's songs, just enjoy it..or else you'd just go crazy..
They were hired to play for the Democrat convention, don’t think they listened to their music and what they stood for before hiring them😂
“Black dudes reacting to Tool” needs to be its own KZread category
The fact they are more offended by Tim's language than his message speaks volumes...
There are three types of people in the world Tool fans, people who have not heard Tool and people with no musical taste. 🤪
Real authentic true self POETRY!! None of that bullshyt for entertainment.. straight raw poetry
11:09 So it's not the responsibility of history teachers to teach us History yeah that makes sense We shouldn't hold anyone to a standard 🙄
15:14 Bathtub.
I dunno if you could react to it in 2024 but watch Tim Minchin peace anthem for palestine.
i appreciate them giving the music its due. the videos are always great but so is the music!
It would be dope if a hip hop artist sampled Tool. They would have to have some crazy flow. I think like Coast Contra rapping over some Tool beats would be nice.
#TOOLARMY checking in
Need to hear 46 and 2, and Vicarious!
This is a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's song Sound of Silence.
I love this band but I don't usually like their videos. The music is amazing!
Lyrics matter to me along with the music.
