Can I say that I don’t see this as a representation of multiple personalities but more of a inner struggle between voices of doubt and hope.

Ren is a Poet, a Singer, a Rapper, a Musician, a Composer, a Songwriter, a Producer, an Actor......an Artist. Keep going down the Ren rabbit hole, there's literally nothing he can't do. This video is completely LIVE....No pre-recorded music and lip-syncing here. Don't miss out on the fact that Ren was also in a band...."The Big Push". They too have lots of videos, mostly of Busking (street performing). Ren needs all of our Thoughts, Prayers and Love right now. At 17, Ren had been discovered by Sony Records, Busking in England. They signed him to a contract and he was on his way. As he was recording his first album, he got incredibly sick. He went to the British doctors, complaining of severe pain all over his body and in his joints. The Doctors could find nothing wrong with him and insisted that it was all in his head. Ren spent the next 8 years of his life, looking for answers, going to hundreds of different doctors. The medical community kept saying it was ALL in his head and treating as much, with Psycho-Active/Tropic drugs for his "Mental Disorder". Meanwhile, Ren was stuck in bed 23 hours a day because of the overwhelming pain. All of this nearly drove him crazy as he KNEW he was experiencing the pain that they said was made up. A few years ago, he found a Doctor in Belgium that finally diagnosed Ren with Lyme Disease. He had his answer. However, because the Lyme disease went untreated for 8 years, it Ravaged his body to include his brain. He even received Stem Cell treatment in Canada a while ago, but the damage was already done. He is currently BACK in Canada, for 6+/- months, to try and repair some of that damage. This will include multiple surgeries. He is there by himself, without friends or family to comfort him through this grueling ordeal.

Hope is absolutely what keeps us from slipping into the dark. Without it we are lost... what an amazing piece of art! This eternal dance is definitely what it means to be human. This young man has been taking the world by storm. The most incredible thing about this video in particular, isn't the amazing guitar work, the lyrics or even the stellar performance. The most astounding thing is, what is going on out here. I have seen reactors as well as people in the comments section, coming forward with intensely personal stories of their own struggles and how they are coping each day. Suggesting people get help if they need it. Even offering resources to do so. People are reaching out saying that they had felt alone in their battle. To find an incredible amount of people saying that exact same thing. Proving the point, a falsehood the way no words can. This is so relatable to people in all walks of life. We all have inner struggles and demons that we have to go through. Whether it's doubt, self esteem, addiction or mental health issues. Because of that, people are finding a connection to an unexpected place. Each other. Things are being discussed, that before weren't even whispered. It's such a wonderful thing, that I want to shout it out from every rooftop that there is. I think that with this one song, he has proven his own words true. He IS a genius and the waves that he is creating are tsunami in scale. His music may just be more important than he could ever imagine. I wish that I had Patreon money. So, I could see your deep dive into this But, I am on social security and barely making the bills. This was an incredible reaction. I appreciate you both for your time and thoughts.

On a personal note.....That was a great reaction. We ALL have this battle within ourselves (if you're honest). "You're not talented enough,, you're not strong enough, you're not good looking enough, you're not smart enough, etc.". It's a rare person in which the "Light" side wins every time. Ren is a guiding light....having gone through all that he's gone through and still able to produce ART like this. There are several songs/videos in which he explores his relationship with God, as anyone would going through what he's been through. What's curious is, I'm not exactly sure where Ren sits as of present. And that's NOT a bad thing. Everyone will tell you to listen to more songs that go down this same road....."Sick Boi", "Chalk Outlines", "How to be me", etc. I will recommend a completely different take. Take in Everything Ren has to offer. Try his cover of "I Shot the Sheriff"....Do a search for "The Big Push....Bongo Bong" and check that out. Where Ren really shines is in his Live performances. Try his Rap songs like "Power" and "What you want". And then there's "The Tale of Jenny and Screech (FULL)". It's a Masterclass in Storytelling. You can do each video separately ( "Jenny's Tale", "Screech's Tale" and "Violet's Tale") and drive your reactors MAD with anticipation....or just do the video where all 3 are put together and finish it at once. Keep going.

Breaking down lyrics like it’s Bible study (or for me, poetry) is absolutely what I’m here for! I really loved seeing you both being so open and enthusiastic about this song. Please, please, please react to Ren’s trilogy of songs Jenny’s Tale/Screech’s Tale/Violet’s Tale. They’re very much narratively connected and are best viewed one after the other/in one video. Thank you for mentioning self doubt. That’s what so much of this is. So much vulnerability here, you can see these are not just thoughts he has, this is life for him. Everyday. That’s why he can put all these complex lyrics together like this. He is an absolute genius. Unfortunately it’s belief that a brilliant ultimately is also a trouble mind. The deep thinking, the constant thinking. He clearly operates on a different wavelength than most people and sees a lot more on that wavelength, both good and bad. And then not being able to relate automatically with the masses can create isolation and then the whole existence enforces that forever lingering self doubt

My interpretation is that Ren is "speaking" to two listeners... One audience is the normal, usual folks with self-doubt and those back-and-forth positive and negative voices on our shoulder. The second audience are those who have deeper, more profound psychological issues. Breaks from reality... hallucinations... voices. That must be absolute torture. I can't imaging... Ren CAN, because he has BEEN there. I think he is offering encouragement and HOPE to that audience, letting them know HIS experience, and what has been working for himself. As he says in that closing monologue, he has suffered with psychosis. That is seriously deep sh**t. In my opinion, Ren is an astonishing artist who has mastered music AND poetry AND empathy. He has mor wisdom in his 30s than I have in my 60s. What a beautiful masterpiece. GREAT reaction, you two!!!

Something that is important to remember in relation to having humility, is that it doesn't mean you can't have aspirations or a desire to do something great. The Devil in Ren was talking down to him for having aspirations. He's the voice in your head telling you you aren't worth trying. That's the difference. funny how so many of us start by saying, "shame, mental patient," but quickly realise his thoughts are ours, that mental health or rather illness is part of the human condition since time in memorial; love your reference to "wrestling not against flesh and blood." Opening visuals are shocking & perplexing to say the least, but from the second he plucks that first note, our anxiety is not only appeased, but our interest peeked. His art captivating & inviting; crossing all genre from opera to rock to hip-hop to jazz to the spoken word; he ticks all boxes & satisfies all tastes, which is exactly what his message of Hope calls for in order to reach the world. What I find most impactful though, above his awesome artistry, is his courage to lay himself bare before (now!) the whole world. It's inspirational in its purest form, so that we too can have the courage to "sing Our song" or "tell Our story," even just "live Our life" the Truest we can, without which all meaning falls flat.

Ren, including suicidal thoughts. . Then descent into chaos. . Then reflective, "older", relaxed Ren, understanding himself, looking to his right, reasoning with the Manic side, then facing the world (the camera). . Rising up, establishing hope. . Realising his strength, singing "Cower at the man I've become!" (You won't destroy me, I survived hell) . Then the same dance, but this time of celebration, with all sides present (flashing lights) but self aware. . The monologue references all of the facets. . Reference Your opening sentence ".....it doesn't mean this stuff goes away" . I'm not sure if you saw it, but watch the last 5 seconds before the fade to black at the very end. . I find the final look at the camera chilling, representing what you said..... He knows the demons are there. (I think that's why that end sequence is there)

If you listen to Ren talk about this song, he says he is Christian, Buddhist, all theists combined. Im paraphrasing here. I was hit by so many things on this video. I am a 68 yr old woman who fights depression every day. I'm trying to adjust my dance.❤

Thank you so much for an awesome reaction and break down, really enjoyed the evolution of your thoughts and observations. Hope you check out more of Ren - it just gets better and better - he never ceases to surprise in any of his musical genres - Rap: Genesis, Hunger, Power, Money Game 1 and 2 (just to start, there is too much gold there) Singing (Chalk Outlines and How to Be Me) Busking with his band The Big Push, storytelling in Trilogy of Jenny/Screech and Violet (in that order only to appreciate the twists and turns of his storytelling). It's all amazing and on the next level and so different from each other, it's refreshing to see so many different sides of a musician and artist, captivating!

Great reaction, and breakdown guys. I thoroughly enjoyed that. I recently found Ren as well, and the guy is truly talented. A breath of fresh air from what can feel stagnant at times. If your looking for more Ren suggestions here are a few. If you want more of the thought provoking writing, storytelling, and theatrical drama then I highly suggest the "Jenny/Screech/Violet" trilogy. That was a masterful piece of art. If you want to check out some of his rapping chops then I'd suggest "The Hunger". And for singing "Chalk Outlines". There are more, but as I mentioned I'm going down the Ren rabbit hole myself. Once again I truly enjoyed the reaction, and I'm looking forward to your next.

Would you guys be willing to react to more Ren videos? He so multi-talented any video of his is a work of art (that's not exaggerating either, it is a FACT). I recommend the Tales of Jenny and Screech (Full + with Violet's Tale too) for an incredibly captivating story. Losing It by Ren is a great fun video showcasing his incredible rapping skills. Ren is an artist. And I think you would be missing out if you didn't react to more of his videos. Regardless, I love your reactions and I can tell you put a lot of love into your videos. I'm looking forward to enjoying more of your reaction videos ✨

The left side is in the shadow of the light, The right side is in the light and the shadow behind. I'm not sure if it were him that put the video together or a team. Whom ever created this video to make the words physical is a friggen' genius! You have to watch more than once after hearing the monolog at the end. Put together with the words in the lyrics, the light play. Hats off.
