  It really depends on many factors, your driving habits, quality of deisiel your using and even your elevation. My estimation for me is about 4-5K miles per fill up. I then to fill up.

  We were planning on driving our diesel motorhome to Belize but I heard mexico has limited low sulfur diesel and Belize didn't have low sulfur diesel. I assume you're vehicle needs low sulfur diesel as well, are finding it in Belize?

  We have just been using the fuel we find at major brand stations. We will change fuel filters a little more often.

  Nah man I'd do a coconut curry. In high school in Hawai'i me an some baddas made water bongs out of the shell. Dry them out and remove the meat . Then polish them down. Almost like Koa wood. 3 holes in the top. Bamboo in the bigger one and a stem in one carb in the other. Hawai'i natural high bought a few... good times... curry folks. Curry.

  You have a very sensible approach to traveling the PanAmerican. We’re at Andy’s place in Quito, Ecuador surrounded by European travelers. We haven’t seen a US overlander since Panama. Fear rules the US and it’s a shame.

  I have a late question. I have read that there is a federal law that imposes USD$127,000 fine and possible jail time for driving on beaches in Mexico. Do you know if this is true? I don't want to drive in deep sand, but it would be nice to camp within view of the water.

  Does that even sound likely? Beaches in Mexico are public property but you aren’t allowed to drive on them. Watch what the locals do and where they do it and take your chances. We have a van and don’t go near soft sand cheers from the PanAmerican in Ecuador.

  Hello, Now I can't say for sure everywhere in Mexico. But, it is common to see many people driving on the beaches, especially in Baja. This is a very common practice. I can't recall ever seeing a sign saying anything about regulations for driving on a beach. I often see locals in trucks and motorcycles driving on the beaches because it's better than the roads. Use common sense, but I wouldn't be afraid of any ticket. The genuine concern is ensuring you can recover your vehicle when it gets stuck in the soft sand. We are getting pretty good at that now, lol...

  I’m writing this comment sitting in Eagle Pass TX on my way to Phoenix AZ. Yesterday riding down the highway I lost power on my VS30 and limped to Eagle Pass. I did some checking and couldn’t determine what was wrong. I found your video and went this morning to look. I found a blown hose! New hose will be here at 11am! I was about to pay 700 bucks to tow it to San Antonio. Big help! Your Axle video in Alaska was also a big help! Love how calm you are while this mess is happening. You saved me so much time and money!

  Man, next time you go up 395, I suggest to go up to Bridgeport. The green Meadow in Bridgeport is really beautiful too! You go to Twin Lakes there, really a beautiful drive too.

  Great you were able to help Bill Burr at the side of the road. Good video, and helpful info tidbits. I’m planning to do this drive from Toronto end of Aug. ‘24 or next year same month. I’ll skip this year if I’m able to take more time off and drive to Colorado, Utah and Idaho.

  with modern vehicles,when jumping another car, your not suppose to have the donors engine on when trying to jump. It could mess with the computers.

  I camped at Twisted Shoe (Feb. 2024) because of this video. Absolutely loved how I was miles and miles away from everyone. Nobody was at the lower campsites so we were truly all alone. Loved every moment.

  Etiquette at Saline is no clothes in the Hot springs. Use the showers before you get in. Be respectful of others. Wearing textiles in the springs ruins them. They will need to be drained, scrubbed, and bleached now. The detergents and dyes in your clothes contaminate the hot springs. It makes the water look dirty and affects the ability of being able to absorb the minerals. Defeats the purpose of going to a hot spring. You may find yourself not being welcomed.

  Air filters are big, a little fragile and pretty easy to find at most auto parts stores. I typically blow them out with my air compressor on the trail after a really dusty day. So, I don't normally pack a extra air filter. That was a great question. Thanks for watching!

  No, we used CHUBB, which we found through Baja Bound. It was cheaper to do a whole year than a single month. Hope that helps!

  Very nice place. Roads seems bad, though. I have a 4x4 170 Sprinter, what i hate most are the roads with side incline. Would you know the max slope angle before tipping over with such heavy and high vehicle. Thanks and enjoy the road

  The road to Agua Verde is a little rough and narrow but generally not too off camber. The tiping point would vary depending uppon many factors like how the cargo wieight in your van is distributed. Generally they are much more stable than they look. But you dont want to cross that line and learn the hard way. Thanks for watching!

  I know this is old but just wanted for any other viewers in this situation too know. If you break an axel or lose a rear driveshaft and you have 4 WHEEL DRIVE you can just shift into 4 high and you can still drive. If it's a bent driveshaft take it off , or tie it up if it has a slip joint at the trans. If it's a broken axel and a one ton you can take it out and tape a plastic bag in the hole. And for stripped ring gear drain out the oil and take off the drive shaft. You can drive 1000 miles on the front axel just don't be hard on it as it is usually not as strong as the rear diff. Over the years doing this has got me home from many backwoods trips and will keep you mobile and safe Tull you can get too where you can safely fix your rig. CHEERS AND SAFE TRAVELS Steve h.

  Thanks these are great things to try. The Mercedes computer wouldent let me drive in 4WD once the axle broke. I was hoping I could limp in back to Fairbanks that way. But when I put it into 4WD the computer sut down the accelerator and locked me out of driving. This was pretty disappointing... It then led to the story you saw of fixing it for real on the arctic roadside.

  you saw a Brown bear not a Grizzly . the Kodiak brown is much larger . My first trip to Kodiak was in 1985 and it was on the Tusty as well . A grand adventure from southern Oregon to Kodiak in a 1967 chevy pickup . Kodiak has been home for 39 years this July .

  I live in Kodiak. We don’t have grizzly bears. We have Kodiak Brown Bears. They don’t “attack” but they will scavenge for food. If you had residual trash, smell of trash, grill scraps, they will try to scavenge for that. We have not had an unprovoked bear attack in the city of Kodiak. Everyone who lives here is “bear aware” and it is taught at a very young age. Please don’t classify this as a “bear attack”, that is mislabeling our awesome bears that we cohabitate with peacefully.

  Thanks for the correction. Rookie move calling the Grizzlies. I did meet a man who was attacked in his front yard in Kodiak. It was big news at the time.   Nice vid! We lived in Sechelt for 10 years and now have a 4 acre lot between Halfmoon Bay and Madiera Park. Hopefully you did some MTBing on the Sunshine Coast as well. I’ve worked on building and maintaining trails, and they are some of the east I’ve ever ridden, even compared to Sedona, White Fish, Hurricane, etc.

  Not any. There are more diesel cars and trucks here than in the USA. So diesel is very easy to find. I dont think I've seen a single gas station that didnt have it yet.
