    I feel your pain man, just got back into the hobby after 30 years. Spent over $1200 on amazon to get started. NONE, of the listing I purchased from said anything about this. Why; 1) they want the sale "greed" might be part of it 2) I think amazon is behind all of this overregulation because they need free airspace to operate their drone delivery service. We are sheep, and the ama is not your friend!

    Not wanting to dwell in the past ... airplanes of that era typified a good day at the flying field. Goldberg produced two memorable kits in the category; this one, and the Ultimate Biplane. YS120's always found a home in mine. I was a better builder than flier, different aptitudes, I guess. As the hobby evolved (devolved?) to the "made in China" ARF choices, so did a lot of visceral enjoyment experienced in flying your own creation, either thru a kit or from scratch. But hey, enough about my thoughts! Thanks for the video!

    I watch all these magnificent flying Eindeckers on your channel and it almost makes me sick. I wanted one forever and one day stumbled across a Dancing Wing 63 inch ARF. The damn thing is gorgeous, weighs next to nothing, and you'd think would fly almost like a trainer. This one also has ailerons but they are useless. This is the most difficult plane I own to fly in my current 128 plane fleet and nothing I have tried has helped. Part of me wants in the crumple into the ground and go home in a garbage bag if it weren't such a looker. Hopefully I'll find or build a larger one some day that'll fly like it should. Hope you get in several big events this year because I can watch these long videos over and over. Give me good inspiration while sitting and working on my builds. Oh and you should have kept the P-47! Can never have enough!😂

  • @tauncfester3022
    @tauncfester302213 күн бұрын

    If your Fokker E.III is glow powered how do you expect it to weigh "next to nothing"? You should buy one of AerodromeRC's 70" WS E.III kits and power it with a 500 watt electric. WWI ARF's weigh too much to fly slow and graceful. The challenge would be to set it up like the real aircraft with an under-cambered airfoil and wing warping and learn to fly coordinated rudder/wing-warping turns. and discover that a full flying tail and rudder have far more authority than a model with separate stabilizers/elevators and fin/rudder.

    Hi Andy, Thanks for the two videos. That first video really showed the wind bucking around the planes. Jim made an awesome landing with his P-47. I really liked the flight of that F-86. The P-47 bomb drop was a nice extra. Want to add a bomb drop to my Carolina Customs kit.

    Brave souls! Our first event was about the same. Great turnout and about 200 planes. Gorgeous 75 degree day with atrocious winds that kept most smart people grounded. I lost my Seagull Decathlon about like that J3 Cub when a gust of wind hit at the wrong time on takeoff. Was lucky to have an identical spare in the box at home. Keep'em coming Andy!

    Did you paint that whole plane and sheet it all in a full I. Everything then paint that whole plane. If that is paint man that's a beautiful plane wish I had the patience to build a beautiful painted plane like that. I just finished a 35 percent scale extra 300 and I sheeted it all in and painted it using ppg paint and 2k clear which is a high gloos hard sealing mirror like finish gloss clear coat thats a two part clear and its glow fuel proof I foind out. And I clearcotwd the vynil graphics over as well. But trying to sheet in and paint a plane yours size and smaller is alot more work and sanding cause of weight

    ive seen a lot of ppl miss the boat on the cowl air intakes. You need to drill around the intake and pop out the center. Take a look at the full size chipmunk's cowl. People wonder why they cant get a good engine run because they dont have enough cooling. The math is the area of the air outlet should be double the air intake.

    Incredible, I come from your other video, that of the Carl Goldberg Sukhoi 26. I never imagined that I would see this video again, I saw it on VHS in the mid-90s when I was a child and now I find it here. Thank you very much for uploading and sharing it, it brings back so many good memories of better times. Greetings from Chile.

  • @patricioac546

    Impressive flight. In the mid-90s when I was a teenager, the person who taught me how to fly RC planes had this same Sukhoi but with the classic red and white decoration, it was the largest and most impressive plane in the club, unfortunately it only lasted a couple of flights before being injured in a crash. I never saw one of these again but it always left me with the impression that there was a flaw in the airfoil design but it was contradictory since it was a Dave Patrick design. This video clarifies to me after 30 years that this plane flies really well, I imagine it is not like the modern ultralight designs with 3D capabilities but upon landing it can be seen that it floats very well. Awesome Snaps, Tumbles and Lomcevaks. Greetings from Chile, the southernmost country in the world.

    I have an X20S - I like the PRO but at twice what I paid for the X20S it is very difficult to justify. I prefer the squared-off bottom and the paddle switches but that really isn’t enough. I also prefer the side knobs to be pointing down - so much so I bought the optional knobs but haven’t fitted them - the reason is that you can’t use them with the grips fitted and I think the X20/S needs the side grips. I guess you could cut away part of the grip to accommodate the optional knobs but I wouldn’t like to do that.

    Great job on the resto Andy😊 The Saito 150 was not their best offering But you can work on them and get them to tune properly I could hear a slight bit of detonation during your flight at full throttle Indicating a slight lean condition The 150 was notorious for that As they actually had very high compression ! Definitely get her rebuilt and convert to Ignition You will be much happier with the performance 😊
