My condolences to family, friends and colleagues. I only started watching The Bike Show maybe 2 years ago, and one of the things that hooked me was Matt's cynical wit. If you're, say, 40+ years old and don't feel cynical about some things, you haven't been paying attention. 😂 I'll miss him. Rock on, Matt. 🤙

I sat on one this past weekend - felt like a great bike, but it was pretty pricey at $20K US. Maybe that was with the luggage, but take that away to save money and you're still at ~$19K US. How does that compare with, say, a Versys?

I bought a 2009 MT-01 with only 20,000 km a few years ago. They are cheap now here in Canada, for the same reason I guess as why they never really sold well: buyers are still obsessed with horsepower and who wants a cruiser that looks and rides like a sport bike? And yes, it takes a bit of time to get used to the bike. It IS different than other motorcycles. But once you get hooked to the combination of ridiculous torque, fantastic sound, and sporty frame & body, you can't go back! What a great bike!!

I wasn't always actively listening in his reviews. Sometimes I just liked having him tell us how it is. It's been comforting just to have him there. He could be talking about gears, exhaust, or engine; but he always sounded as if talking to you about life; and you never thought to disagree.

Interesting you don’t mentions the vibes on the bars, foot pegs, and seat that other reviewers noted. Frankly that does not lend itself to touring and/or staying on the bike for an hour, for example. I agree that the pettiness of a fixed windscreen on such a bike is glaring.

Nice Video. One can understand very quickly that the bike is fun to ride, and has advantages from both worlds: sprot & touring, but the video lacks data. I wish there were more specifications about the bike, rather than repeating on how fun it is. For example: the options for seat height in centimeters. "Seat height options" is a deal breaker or a deal maker for many riders, so isn't it here the perfect place to specify it? Also things like: Is there a steering damper? Are there tire pressure monitors? etc. Thank you anyway :)

I experienced zero vibes. No bike will be completely vibe free. Maybe you're thinking of the XR? I've not watched one video mentioning serious vibes? It's a motorbike, stop being a fanny. Once the screen is set to your desired height, it doesn't need to adjusted so that's irrelevant. Here in the UK, the bike costs 13k new. 14k with panniers. That's around 4.5k cheaper than the similarly spec'd BMW S1000XR TE. The seat was comfortable for me, I damn site nicer than any stock seat I have tried. And complaining that someone hasn't mentioned the seat height? Why? Stop being lazy and look yourself. An XR has the same seat height as the GX, yet I struggled to flat foot it. Yet the GX, I could flat foot comfortably. So take the spec seat height with a pinch of salt and get of your arse and go and sit on one!!! The brakes did lack some feel, but some pads and new master cylinder would solve it. Tyres are woeful and would swap them out for some Road 6's. Overall, for what it offers at the price. It's a bloody good bike and it's RELIABLE!!!. It has everything most big bikes have at an affordable price. IMU Semi active suspension Cruise Quickshifter Can tour 180 mile range. Reliability Fun Fast Isn't a GS! V4S Multistrada 20k+ S1000XR 18k+ Ninja 1000SX - 12.5k-13.5k

I live in Thailand… already driven the Daytona 660 and it is way way better than the spec sheet suggest. Only does 225 km/h but the 0-100 km/h was impressive… genuinely does it in 3 seconds…. and very comfortable to daily drive too. In fact a Thai website showed at lower speeds it out accelerated the more powerful Street Triple 765 RS.

Just a correction mate (as an owner) the screen has three levels of adjustment, but with tools unfortunately. I have fitted the Puig touring screen which is fantastic, the stock screen does not work on any setting for me at 183cm.
