    Good report. You South Africa riders seem a bit more realistic about your expectations than most of we "Yanks". I still remember the how riders talked trash about "Rice Burners" in the late 60's and 70's. I'm looking forward to owning one of the 450s.

    @@jonwoodworkeroil is generic, air filter is easy to find through Kove USA or online. It shares the same part number as the KTM. Spokes, not sure, probably a common length.

    Nice video, I like that you mentioned Kove has other bikes. Most people talk about them like the Rally is their first bike ever. I wish Kove comes to Mexico, importing one from the US might just about double the price. I was excited about the CFMoto 450 MT, but the weight is around 440lbs, not what I was expecting. Other rally models I've come across are -Fantic XEF Rally. Around 250lbs dry and around $16,000 usd -AJP PR7, around 360lbs wet, and $14,000 usd and coming this 2024, which might actually make it to Mexico the Keeway TX450R, around 360lbs dry, and the price might be even less than the Kove (yes this isn't a well known brand, but they've been around for a long time, and like a lot of these chinese companies, they're owned by some bigger chinese companies. Keeway is owned by QJ Motors (who own Benelli, and are partners with Harley)

    The weight of the Kove 450 Rally is 145kg dry, with a 96cm seat height, it is comparable with the KTM 690 Enduro which offers 74hp, but costs 12.000euros vs 10.000euro for the Kove. I'll keep my KTM 500EXCF for adventure riding, only 108kg dry.

  • @Trailfocused

    It would take another 3000 euros to put a rally tower, windscreen, larger tank, and better suspension and to make the KTM 690 comparable to the Kove. The Kove does not have as much power, that’s a given. This is in a different class compared to the 500. The 500 is a dirt bike with a license plate, the Kove is a rally style bike.

    how did you make this post if you dont entertain chinese products? most if not all bikes have some sort of chinese part in them not to mention cell phones, t.v.s/monitors, household appliances and so on. maybe look into the story of the guy who came up with the idea for the kove. youre not hurting the chinese governement, just a guy/company having a dream. i get what youre trying to say, not a fan of what goes on over there either.

    KTM 450 Rally makes 70HP. What does the Kove proper rally bike make. 51HP is 450exc stock standard power,so no way is that rally bike a full rally engine.

  • @toine0002

    @toine0002

    The Pro version this one is derivated from, is 54hp with Titanium exhasut and a race ECU tune (and rally tower). And 3 finished the Dakar last year , and 2 this year. This standard version can be upgraded to that for 1000$ (except rally tower). So yes, it is a Dakar bike, just tuned for EPA regulations. In 2024 Kove introduced the 450 RALLy EX version of about 65hp but it is a prototype and had problems. Sometimes less power is more reliability ;)

    China now is very capable of building quality bikes. In fact, if you do the research a lot of brand name parts are built there. Some completely built and assembled. The thing to remember about China is that everything is built to a price specification. Quality they can do, but it comes at increased cost. Politics aside, it's hard (if not nearly impossible unless you spend big money) to avoid buying Chinese made things as most everything is made there...
