My best guess would be Finnick since he’s a district favourite so the gamemakers wouldn’t interfere plus he could definitely take advantage of the arena in a way the others couldn’t, or if not then Johanna since her emotions wouldn’t interfere in killing the other tributes who she already knew or possibly Enobaria since she’s really skilled and like Finnick wouldn’t have the gamemakers working against her

Like many have already said, I could see the following twists for that Quell (or any of the other Quells that was planned in the future): - No volunteers allowed. - Only female tributes. - Only male tributes. - Only tributes that are 12 years old. - Tributes are the male and female of each district that have the most slips that year due to the amount of tesserae they have taken (meaning that, yes, there would be a lot of 18 years old among those from the poorer districts since those are cumulative afaik). Could also add the "no volunteers allowed" clause for extra drama since I bet there are still a lot of kids in the Career districts that take tesserae because they are banking on a volunteer to take their place anyway if their name is called. - Tributes are to be relatives (of reaping age) of past victors; can be a sibling like Prim, a son or daughter, a cousin, a nephew or niece, and grandkid, etc. - Tributes reaped from the same family (be it immediate family like siblings, or cousins). I also think they might have planned other Quells with more than 2 tributes for each district, but keeping them for later Quells. They might not do it so soon after the second Quell, but I could see it for the fourth or sixth one, for example. To be honest, all of these could be extra sadistic just by removing the ability to volunteer, tbh. Now for ideas that have not been mentioned (afaik): - Only the eldest child of each family will be added to the reaping pool. Depending on how sadistic the gamemakers are, they can either limit it to family with multiple children, or all families. Meaning that, yes, if you only have one child and they are of reaping age, their name goes into the reaping bowls. - Same as above, but with the youngest child of reaping age. - Only 19 years old tributes (you thought you were safe now that you aged out? Think again!). - Another "vote for the male and female tributes of each district", but the twist is that they pick the ones with the least amount of votes. - Only volunteers. If no one volunteers, then it immediately goes to the youngest male and/or female children of reaping age. Sucks to be you if you literally turned 12 on reaping day. - Actually, that could be one of the twists. Youngest male and female of each district. I know there was a "only 12 years old tributes" already suggested earlier, but this is extra sadistic if you know little Timmy is the last boy in District 3 to turn 12 this year. - Okay. This is going to be my last one, because it honestly disturbs me that I even thought about it... Only disabled Tributes. This is 100% horrible, but I have no trouble imagining someone like Dr. Volumnia Gaul having the time of her life as she watches a boy beating a little blind girl to death with his prosthetic leg.

I think he wanted to wait until they inevitably found Katniss, and then try to kill someone, Glimmer for example so he can try and give her Glimmer's bow. He most likely knew that he wouldn't survive if he attacked the Career pack completely on his own, so he wanted to have a chance to give Katniss a bow before being killed by a Career

in the book plutarch tells katniss that he had no idea that she was gonna be reaped because when they were dancing together, he told her the hint “it starts at 12” to help her as a mentor, not as a tribute. he had no idea what the twist was gonna be

I think there are other countries in that world/timeline. Why? Nukes. Ever since nuclear weapons were invented, the reason that countries pursue the development of nuclear weaponry is deterrence. Who else would Panem need to deter? Rebellious districts would probably not be the reason that nuclear weapons are kept. Why would Panem bomb itself and destroy whatever industry they have in said rebellious district? So they're probably deterring other countries from intervening. Nobody wants to see a mushroom harvest because of their attempt at humanitarian intervention.

I'd try to put rebellion involved people who have any relation to the victors into the games and swap them with the actual victors. But for 12, it would mean that Haymitch and Prim would have to go into the games so that Peeta and Katniss would have to flee. They also had to rescue them as well as many involved tributes as possible. Just like 13 did with Katniss, Finnick and Beetee. If I'm right they were only able to rescue 2 of I guess 10 involved victors bc 7 died and Johanna got kidnapped by the capitol. If I was able to change the rules like discribed, then I would hope that Katniss would be able to rescue more of the good ones. I would try to convince Snow that we would kill Katniss and sell it as suicide bc it was to much to lose her sister and her baby. But just like Plutarch did, I'd flee with the mentors and try to rescue most of the victors, especially Prim and Haymitch.

If I was reaped and offered to roll with the career pack my answer would differ if the career pack was severely arrogant and extremely blood thirsty I would not join due to them being able to kill me any time they pleased if the career pack was more focused on survival and articulate and killing a tribute now and then for pure survival motives I would join but only if I was confident about them being genuine which is probably rare for career tributes

I'd like to know what happened if Clove, Foxface, or Rue became the victor. Would Snow recognize that Katniss left the district? I mean, it must be suspicious to him how good she handles being in the woods, and now, after reading the 4th book, we know that he also left district 12 when he was a peacekeeper. So, would they handle district 12 as strict as in the second book with new peacekeepers, a new fence, harder, and more work for less money? What would happen to district 11? Would they be as rebellious as in the films? What would be the difference for the district of Foxface and would she get the same "offer" like Joana and Finnick, bc she's pretty? Or would she get punished like Haymitch bc she didn't kill anyone? Would this cause a rebellion? I guess there wouldn't be a big difference compared to the years before if Clove had won the games 🤷🏼♀️

If you are born july 5th the the day after the reaping you get your name added a year later because you wouldn't legally have your name put in because you wouldn't be 12 yet so you wouldn't have to compete for a year.

I've always been confused (since we get Katniss' POV and 12 only has ONE mentor) if each tribute gets a mentor or if the district pair shares one (like Katniss and Peeta 'shared' Haymitch'). Either way, I always interpreted it as random Victors would be sent to mentor districts that were lacking but they were almost always weaker Victors to begin with. So Victors like Brutus, Enobaria, Cashmere, Finnick, or Gloss would definitely stay in their district. But some lesser-known or less impressive (most Career) Victors would be rotated to districts with no Victors until it finally happened. That way, there's incentive for those mentors (they only get to go home and 'retire' if they succeed), Snow gets to keep hope alive in all districts to stay in power, AND all districts eventually do get a victor (at least one of each sex, no less).

I don't even think Glimmer had feelings for Cato. A lot of her image was about being flirtatious and playing up that angle for the cameras (especially during her interview). I except she was probably just attempting to continue that image, or else maybe using her good looks and charm to win special treatment from Cato, who was arguably the strongest of the group. Glimmer was the least competent in combat out of the careers so she may have been after additional protection. Or maybe she wanted to appeal to the audience, after the success Peter's love confession brought.

To remind the people of just how much potential is lost to needless death in war, each tribute could be taken from among their own district's best and brightest children. The top grades in school, the highest of IQs, the physically strongest, the wealthiest parents - anything that could logically give a child some future advantage.

My guess is that the reapings for the career districts might actually be a bit different than the other ones. Those districts themselves know it.... the capital knows it too, and it's just basically permitted because it's worked for decades. I imagine that the only names in the pool at all are actually those of volunteer tributes. And they each put their own names in secretly and silently, before lining up in their perfect rows of children for the cameras just like any other district. Know one who doesn;t want to go ever goes, because they never need too - these districts have enough who genuinely WANT to anyway.

My idea: to remind everyone that they will never be able to pay back the amount of deaths, each district first needs to have two individual hungers games, one for the girls, one for the boys, each with twelve tributes. Then the winners of those would be sent to the actual games, where still, only one victor remains. I also think that one of the twists could be that to remind everyone how unequal the ages of the fallen were, only twelve and eighteen year old could be reaped. And then you also have things like: to remind people that it was mostly men who fought in the war, there would be two boy tributes reaped from each district. Or: to remind people that women usually didn’t fight in the war, they would be two girl tributes reaped from each district.

1- Peeta truly understands her, Katniss deals with a lot of emotional trauma from those years, and he can understand her best. Unlike Gale who might care for her, but would never truly grasp the depth of the despair she felt and might expect her to heal with time. 2- Peeta, not only understands her, but he also has this inner strength that can give Katniss peace. he carries his pain in different ways but he will be able to be her rock when she's down. he will always give to her, never expecting her to leave that time behind, but intergrade it into their lives moving forward.

The other thing to consider is that we don’t know exactly what happened to her during that time. It’s never explicitly stated that the capitol took her prisoner, and I’ve seen various theories about how the rebels could’ve been the ones holding her ( without Plutarchs knowledge), or that she could’ve used her high up connections to go into hiding in one of the districts or some dark corner of the capitol.

I feel really bad for Cato. I mean, he always seemed pretty bloody and brutal, especially in the books, but i think deep down he was a good guy, and he obviously internally struggled with making kills. Did you see his face after he killed the little district 6 boy? I reckon as soon as he was in the arena he knew he had made the wrong choice volunteering. And remember in the movie, when it's just him and Peeta and Katniss on the cornucopia, and he has Peeta, and Katniss is pointing her arrow at him, and he says, "Go on, kill me. I'm dead anyway. I always was, right?" He's saying he's finally realised that all the districts are just pieces in the Capitol's games.

Did you see his face after he killed the little district 6 boy? I reckon as soon as he was in the arena he knew he had made the wrong choice volunteering. And remember in the movie, when it's just him and Peeta and Katniss on the cornucopia, and he has Peeta, and Katniss is pointing her arrow at him, and he says, "Go on, kill me. I'm dead anyway. I always was, right?" He's saying he's finally realised that all the districts are just pieces in the Capitol's games.
