I think most people who survived the district 12 bombings were all from the seam, hob and victors village. I think everyone in the mechant section died sadly.

I think they were able to get out of the District and to the lake and watched their district burn because that’s what it states in the book so they were already gone when the bombing started

After the head peacekeeper was replaced, the fence was on 24/7, but shortky before the bombing, the power went off in the entire district. They pulled the unelectrified fence down and went into the woods.

Rules for surviving 3mins without air 3 days without water 3 weeks without food If they make it to the lake with Katniss plant in it, they would have food and water

maybe not 3 weeks if you're already very underweight and malnourished. but longer if you're overweight or well fed

A cool idea for a video would be how the Arenas actually work eg: weather is created, controlling the different elements, earthquakes, terraforming, construction, mapping, force fields, mutts, launch rooms, underground catacombs, life support systems for tributes (oxygen in the arena) etc.

And plus in Catching Fire they said that Arenas aren’t built in a day

Also I certainly feel like there’s no way the bombers would miss 800 people leaving in one group, especmislly considering district 12’s small population and land mass, for some reason very likely what you said, that they assumed they would die in the woods

Gale did mention that the TVs shut off when Katniss blew out the arena so I'm guessing that they just shut down the power in 12. I always pictured a bunch of people pushing over the fence and just running over it into the woods. I might've imagined this, but I thought Gale took everyone to the lake. That would be a big clearing so I bet that's how D13 found them. They were probably looking for survivors by hovercraft. Gale mentioned that a lot of people were afraid of the woods and headed towards the road. I think the firebombers were just more worried about the few thousand people trying to escape on the road than the 800 going through the woods.

Is it just me after seeing that scene who thinks Gale and Cressida would make a good couple. They are both fiery and strong but Cressida seems to be calm and reasonable as well so they’d be a good match. I think the Capitol are so unbelievably arrogant they probably didn’t think that District 12 citizens could get out without peacekeepers.

I definitely see your point, and part of me thinks it could technically work out between him and Cressida, but remember that the reason why katniss came to the conclusion that it wouldn’t work out between her and gale was because they were both fiery people too. If gale and Cressida are the same way, it might not work out in the long run.

That’s not a bad idea, but perhaps this is fighting fire with fire. Either way, Gale would never forgive himself if he was with somebody that used to be from the Capitol of all places.

True. I agree with that. He hates anyone who’s even involved ever so slightly with the Capitol. Although she is fiery, she isn’t as fiery as Katniss and is calm and calculated too. You guys all make valid points.

You should collaborate with Christian Blanco. He has been writing fictional, detailed hunger game stories that are really good!

I think if the capital knew about them surviving they didn’t expect them to survive for very long with little resources and most of them already on the brink of starvation so they wouldn’t have seen them as a threat

Gale and his group tried to get all 10,000 district twelvians out and evacuated but the Peace Keepers flame threw the crowd and only 800 survived

If District 13 wasn’t able to make any sort of contact with Gale and the group for whatever reason, they would have had to walk really far just to get to salvation. In a previous video, explaining where the arenas are located, Jess worked out that there was about 100km between each district by looking at the map. Gale may choose to tough it out in the woods, but it’s hard to keep tabs on 915 people at the same time. It wouldn’t be very long until some are killed or fall ill. Even though Gale sometimes can make Katniss’ life that much more difficult, and he is a jerk in a few ways, you’ve gotta admire him for what he did. He’s seriously underrated in this aspect. Sorry if I repeated things that were said in the video, I wrote this before I watched it.

The bombers probably didn't see the people because there was smoke, blood, debris, panic, etc. So spotting eight hundred people getting out with all the chaos is probable. To get eight hundred people out, they probably split into small groups to stop being detected as one huge group.

Maybe they didn't have enough bombs to spread in both the district and the woods. The bombers knew twelve was small, so they probably didn't bring many spares. When they saw people going for the woods, they probably thought, "They're injured, or won't be able to make it, they've never gone into the woods before. Better not waste our bombs on them."

Could you do a theory on if Katniss had shot Cato holding onto Peeta on top of the cornucopia and what would've happened. That would be really interesting 💗

Maybe they brought them all into the mines so they'd be save and gale knowing that the mines weren't vary save dug a new whole under the fence into the middle of the woods from there main branches of mines

I think the people may have escaped in groups and regrouped and/or rounded up by Gale and his crew after the escape. Being expert trackers, it wouldn't have been hard for them to track down stragglers. As far as letting them go, I don't know how precise the bombers are. if you only have a few bombs and your objective is to destroy the town, then wasting your bombs on small handfuls of people doesn't make much sense. Also, it's very difficult to bomb targets in wooded areas because it's hard to see and hard to get a direct hit without hitting the treetops. If they were in a big group, who's to say they weren't targeted? They say they saved 800 people, but I don't think they ever say they started out with 800 people. If it was a big group they could have been targeted and hit but that doesn't mean they got them all.

Not sure if it's been done, but I've been wondering - how do they determine where the tributes are going to stand during the countdown? Because in Hunger Games, we can see that Katniss and Peeta aren't standing next to each other on the platforms, it seems to be rather random, as in tributes from the same district aren't next to each other, but is it really? Or would the Gamemakers manipulate it in a way to get some tributes closer to each other to make the bloodbath more interesting? In Catching Fire, Katniss seems to be standing between Cashmere and Chaff, maybe? Which doesn't suggest any particular order either.

Personally, I think it might be a mixture between both of your theories. In general they might randomly pick the positions, if I remember correctly, Katniss even mentions this. However it is surely possible the Gamemakers decied to spice up the beginning of the games to give them a good start. Maybe they also do this if they fear a tribute might cause trouble, so chances are higher they get killed right in the beginning.

Man I so love this theories and things about hunger games. It feeds my curiosity

I think the careers would be too trained and probably double check each body n jus probably stab them again for good measures if it doesnt look good enough unless they sneak off when the careers arent looking

Well since the cannons for the bloodbath don’t go off until the event is over, the Careers have no way to tell, but they probably would be suspicious if they weren’t any wounds or visible signs of death?

Considering that the Careers stay on the cornuponia checking for a while after the bloodbath makes it harder, specially if they almost always leave one to keep an eye on the staff

I think the bombers did miss them for the simple fact they didn't expect anyone to even Try to escape. And what would have happened if the rebellion had failed? The Capitol needed the coal from District 12, would they have resettled and rebuilt it? Who would they have moved in there? Would they have let citizens from other districts move in by offering an incentive, something like if families with children moved in they would be exempt from the reaping for a year or so?

In the book it says that all the power had gone from district 12 after the games so the fence wouldn’t be electrified 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

About the fence- the old peace keeper had the fence turned off almost all the time but the new head peacekeeper had the fence turned on but before the bombing the capital had all the electric cut so the fence was off

I have a feiw suggestions for thearys you could do 1= after the finale fight against the capital where the districts had won what changed? I mean district 1 and 2 were said to be vary loyal to the capital did they take the capitals side? 2=in the districts what happened in the schools when it was time for the hunger games? I'm assuming school was out for a week or so so that the eligible kids could prepare and maybe even say goodbye to there family's and when school resumed what happened? Oh little Jimmy died in the hunger games so he dosnt need to get his math paper in? It maybe did school not resume for that family for a while? Or did they not resume until after the hunger games were over? I'd love it if you did my thearys in a video but with your own thoughts of course!

As far as 2 goes, the wikipage says the reaping is on July 4th. If the districts have summer break like the U.S.A does now, they'd be out of school. Also makes sense for timing/required viewing of the victory tour, as it would fall around the time for winter break.

Did the 800 people leave as one group or did he go to pull people out of houses and told them to go straight through a certain point in the fence and into the woods and gather together there? If they were leaving a few small groups at a time the bombers would have had less ability to see and stop them, as opposed to one larger, much more bombable group

They needed all of the Peacekeepers they got to control the uprising from most of the district, so it make since the Peacekeeper didn't care what happen to district 12 since they are need for battle somewhere else. District 12 wasn't going to survive neither would their "law enforcement" is needed in as soon be dead district.

Well during the bombing there was 10,000 district 12 pepole and 8,000 peacekeepers defector’s so the The 15,000 peacekeepers that raid they were outnumbered because there they were trying to kill 18,000 pepole now 8,000 district 12 pepole and 5,000 peacekeepers defector’s made it out but in the movie for some reason only 915 pepole made it out and gale did not mention the 8,000 peacekeepers defector’s
