My efforts at model car building.
I began building my first model in the spring of 2014 and was hooked. My preferences are cars and trucks, with character or personal interest, from the '20's to the '70's. I set up a bench in my garage in the summer but moved into the basement for the winter of 2015/16. I started my KZread channel in January 2015 and appreciate your comments. Thanks for taking an interest in my involvement with this hobby. Please subscribe so you can follow along. ...............Steve. PS, Enjoy the build.

Thanks for sharing Steve👍
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed the video.
Great show Steve! I loved the fact that 1st generation Cougar’s were well represented. 😀 Thanks for sharing! 😀👍🏻
It was nice to see those older Cougars again, there were three and one was for sale.
Great looking cars up there Steve! Nice day for a show, thanks for taking us along! 😎👍
We had a great day for the show, glad to share it.
NICE!!! Happy Canada Day. Thanks for the car pics.
It was a perfect day to be out. Thanks for watching.
Great coverage of the show, Steve. Love the Durant.
It was a perfect day for a car show. I was thinking of you when I saw those old sedans.
Patriot that I am, as seen in many shots I'm I was sipping a 'Timmies' coffee. Great afternoon and now I have all those photos for future model builds. 😎
You were right in style for Canada Day, thanks for suggesting the outing. Anne enjoyed being out there also.
Looked a beautiful day for a car show Steve, I'm digging the hot rods!!!
It was a perfect day out, lots of cars to be inspired by.
What a great selection of cars,Steve and lovely weather👍😎. Happy Canada day 😃. I hope everything's going well and best wishes from jolly old England 👍😎Pete 🤓
It was a perfect day for the outing and Anne was feeling well enough to join in. We're doing as well as we can. Hope your weather there is better now.
@@ModelCarMinion drizzle all day.we did have 3 days of sunshine😃
Really nice cars on display Steve! Was that Peter's (Lazy-eyed Modeler) green Ford, I think it is? It was at 2:14 into the video.
Hi! No, that wasn't me. I live about 4+ hours away from Steve. I've been on 1 tour about 2 hours away this year but every time I think I'm going to a car show, something comes up with the Model A.
@@lazyeyedmodeler-woodyworkshopAh, ok! Good to hear from you sir!
Beautiful rides!! Absolutely love the green New Yorker at the end. That's from my era. We had a green '73 Newport growing up.
Glad you enjoyed it, you don't see cars that bit anymore. If you noticed you can see my reflection in the fender and the hubcap.
Came out looking real nice Steve! Well done.
Thanks Mike it's a nice kit to work with.
I love it Steve. I’m going to be doing a version of the Beverly Hillbillies jalopy for the #RustBucketGB2024 😀👍🏻
I just saw your intro video, have fun with it.
That turned out real nice Steve👍
Thanks Paul, it is a nice kit.
Fab build dude! What did you use to thin that acrylic paint to use in the airbrush?
I often use windshield washer fluid or Pledge Floor Finish.
That is a really sweet build. Was this brush painted by hand, or did you use an air brush? Also, is the comic any good? 😃
Thanks for the comment, the black on the chassis and exhaust were primed with black Rustoleum rattle can sprayed on, then the exhuast was hand painted with silver and gunmetal acrylics, the interior, seats and body were airbrushed using craft acrylics, the roof was airbrush. I keep forgeting to read the comic, 🙁it does have Monogram model ads in it though.
😍Oh wow, the Mustang turned out GREAT Steve! Love your color choices too.👍
Thanks Tim, I didn't want a black interior so I used more summer friendly colours.
@@ModelCarMinion 🙂👍
Nice build Steve!! 🤜🤛
Thanks Tim, I built the car about a year ago and just added the figures.
You picked up some good kits Steve 😉👍
There were some good deals there.
Enjoyed!!!!!!!!!
Glad to hear it, thanks for the comment.
@@ModelCarMinion 👍👍
Nice
Thanks for checking out my video.
Very nice Steve! I love the color scheme. Very sharp. Have a blessed day my friend! 😀👍🏻
Thanks Steven, I wanted to use summer colours for this convertible.
That's one spiffy Mustang, Steve! Looks great top up or top down.
Thanks Peter, I tried to pick colours I would like to have for riding around with the top down in the summer.
Love the Archie's Jalopy and the figures really add to its presentation. I still have hunks of the Archie's Jalopy kit that was produced so many years ago. Wish I hadn't broken it up as a kid to glue parts of it to parts of the the Beverley Hillbillies truck.
I didn't know there was an actual Archie's Jalopy kit, I just made due with this kit. I really like adding figures when I can.
It came out beautifully. I really like the colour selections you made and the detailing of the dash.
Thanks, this kit goes together very well and has some good details, except the interior door panels have very shallow detailing.
Mustang looks awesome Steve. Great build, Ron
Thanks Ron, I like convertibles that look comfortable in the summer sun. 😀😎
HEY-DAR 👊😎👍 Geno Here: Nice Build 🤗 really like that steering wheel 🙂 I'd be happy to put her in my cabinet 😊 Be Watching You Later, (MODEL CAR)🎭(MAN CAVE)
The bonus Batman Comic Book is cool! Mustang looks good. All those little chrome rivets on the steering wheel are amazing. Monogram makes a nice fitting kit. Interior looks great. I'll have to build my Monogram Mustangs, but I keep getting drawn to all my poor fitting AMT kits. LOL! I don't know if I can handle all that perfection.
I understand, AMT kits don't seem as well made but they have more interesting subjects. This is one Mustang kit that fits very well.
@@ModelCarMinion It does look like it fits together well. I am surprised that you didn't build it as the Pace Car though. (I like Pace Cars)
I guess I can't relate to the pace care look, I built it to look like what I would want to own. 😎
@@ModelCarMinion For sure. I had a Collectible Automobile magazine that focused on all the Pace cars from the first to the latest at the time of printing. I lost that magazine in the 2013 High River Flood. It had the pace car and the car that won the Indy for each year. Would be nice to get another copy.
You did a great job on this model. 🐭👍
Thanks Craig, it's a good kit.
Turned out really nice Steve. Good work.
Thanks Gary, it's a good kit to work with.
great job
Thanks for the comment.
What a awesome Build sir very very cool nice detail work
Thanks Ritch, it's a good kit to work with.
nice build Steve. The first Mustang ever sold was bought here in St. john’s. It’s on display in the Ford museum in Detroit still with its Newfoundland plates on it
Interesting bit of trivia, I would not have guessed the first one was sold in Nfld.
Sharp looking Mustang thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for the comment.
OUTSTANDING Steve!! You picked excellent colors!! Looks amazing!!
Thanks Oron, it turned out better than I expected.
Beautiful build Steve! The colors were worth the wait! Nice detail work. 😎👍
Thanks for the comment, it took a while but I finally found the colours I wanted.
Looks terrific Steve. I like the body color.
Thanks Vince, summer colours for the convertible. 😎
Nice work.
Thanks for the comment.
Looks beautiful Steve 😍
Thanks Charlie, I like those colours together.
A great looking model. Thanks for the painting tips.
Glad you enjoyed it, they are fun to paint.
Love the chassis in these kits. Nicely Done!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mike, I wanted to add some figures to the build to make it more fun.
i find the most difficult part of painting figure is to paint their eyes. Do you have any tips on that part? Thanks in advance
For figures this small I use a very fine brush or a sharpened toothpick to put the paint on. I use craft acyrlic paints. The most important part is to get the pupils aligned so they aren't looking in different directions. Keep trying, practice helps improve your technique and using water based paints it's easier to clean off if you make a mistake.
Nice jalaopy from the comics, the figures are an awesome compliment to the car.👍
Thanks so much David, the figures are fun to add to the display.
I absolutely love it! Well done Steve. The figures really add to your build. Have a blessed day my friend! 😀👍🏻
Thanks Steven, they do make it more fun, I'll have to find a Veronica figure next. 😀
Veronica all the way :D
Thanks for the comment.
Looks great Steve👍
Thanks Paul, I like to add figures when possible.
HEY-DAR 👊😎👍 Geno Here: I always thought the big model companies should have included figures in ALL their kits 🤔 Your build turned out nice, good job 😊 Be Watching You Later, (MODEL CAR)🎭(MAN CAVE)
Betty. Especially that one! 😬
Yep, she looks all grown up. lol.
What great build. I never knew it existed!! Ah..The memories.
I have a previous video showing the car kit build, I like doing these for the memories. 😀
Great build Steve. I`m partial to Veronica. Had a girlfriend named Veronica at one time. 😂
Thanks for the comment Gary.
Very cool build nice touch with the comic books and figures.
Thanks Phil, the figures are fun and add more realism.
