I'm a backpacker and a lover of the outdoors. I'm always happier with dirt and leaves under my feet. This page is my way of sharing what I love, how I do it, and, hopefully, get some advice, ideas, and build community with others in this amazing community of outdoor lovers.

How come gloves aren't called finger socks? Mittens and gloves aren't weird on your hands but mittens on your feet is normal but gloves on your feet is weird, that's weird.
That dude's an idiot, I need to try everything he says!!
Why even bring a sleeping bag and not just sleep open to everything? Here in California, if it's a heatwave and it doesn't dip below 70F at night, I just don't use blankets in bed. I even sleep downstairs where it is cooler.
😂
CO2 isn’t so bad. Campers love green and the planet is greener now since CO2 went up, and well, as the hype might say it’s a problem and slap the wrist of each individual - don’t let that abuse happen folk - CO2 shows more evidence of following spikes of the heat bell curve, meaning it doesn’t cause warming, but warming causes CO2. The natural environment is the largest emitter, and therefore warming likely has to due more about ejection of the sun on natural environments. There is theory of the greenhouse then there are evidential data that must be weighed against it. Fear is a bitch, and the market of politics will not hesitate to use it. Funding sways consensus, and the possible prophets of today that spout facts from authentic moral manners, are left unheard and reticuled.
Cost of materials? Can an DIY’r order up yards at a reasonable price?
I get hiker hunger 5 minutes into a backpacking trip 😂
Can't forget the o2 sensor. Gotta make sure your coffe is oiled😅😅lol
The chinese Temu site n amazon got em cheap
Hi. I'm using so far for many years paper filters and metal ''spring'' style filter holder. Thinking about change for java drip from GSI but I'm worry how to safe storage in my backpack and not to smash those plastic clips. Tom
Get your campsite off the trail.
This pack is a piece of junk. Life lesson. When you are asked to buy a car without test driving there is a reason. Zpack does just that with their packs. We spent $1,000 for two packs that would not carry any weight. To add to the problem every time we called Zpack they came back with a different lie of the weight it will carry. The response was always in ratio to what weight we said we were carrying. When we said we had 25 lbs we were told it would carry 30. When we said 30 in a different call they said 35. This pack would be nothing more than a very expensive day pack. We hiked the whole AT and saw one other Zpack. When we saw that young land again, she had traded hers in for another pack. PLEASE DO NOT BE SUCKED IN BY THE FAKE VIDEOS THAT ZPACK PUTS ON KZread. These not unbiased reviews. If you see a video that just praises this bag and sounds like an infomercial, I will guarantee that is exactly what it this.
Toe socks are a complete game changer!
All u need to bring is a jumbo pack of peanut m & m’s.
I was fishing in Lyon County at lake Barkley and one came up right next to me and was just chilling 🇺🇸 rock on hopefully the gators in Tennessee start coming up and taking care of the carp
Your the best
nice pair of kwilts mate ..
Great insight! You helped give me more confidence if I decide to get a Zoleo, lots of good features. I want something just to check in and get help if I need, don't need too many bells and whistles.
If a guy with no legs can become a pro skater, then fat guys most def can hike!!!
After using this for a while, what's your impression? I'm deciding between the ULA Circuit and this pack. While I love the lower weight of this pack, the (relative) waterproofness, and (especially) the ventilation, I'm concerned about the durability (the ultra 100 material, and the carbon stays).
your video is very good. great youtube❤❤❤❤
Ahhhh..that cocoon of warmth! The only bad thing is getting out of it!
Best insoles ever!
On multi-day trips having a nail clipper has saved me so many times. I always forget to clip my toenails and that can really screw up a day of descending. Definitely worth the weight.
Thanks for making this. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and it hasn't been under control in almost 2 years. Hiking and backpacking have both been off the table since lasy Oct., and that is my main source of exercise and freedom! I am sorry for what you have been going through.
11:36 wait, you are telling me we have to pay for grocery bags while in the US it's free?
ill just buy the cheap brand from china ahahha
Sounds like user error on the wte wipes. They are amazing
Great video. Thx
Hello from a fellow Kentuckian! Safe travels and thank you for the excellent info!
The X ??? How much did Klymit pay you for that plug ? That "pillow" is AWFUL !!!
I would get rid of something else in the pack and carry the heavier stove if it cooks better.
shill
For backpacks, Dyneema makes little sense. Tensile strength means nothing when rubbing against rocks. With tents there's a good case for dyneema but nylon and polyester are strong enough. But on dyneema if you get a hole in that very thin PET layer your tent is leaking.
I did the same thing in Iraq and Afghanistan. They used it to water their crops so forgive me me if I say they don’t trust us!
Who backpacks when its 70° at night? Yuck. I'm sweating at 55°
Denatured alcohol has poisons in it and NOT meant to put on open cuts. That's isopropyl alcohol that's an antiseptic.
Great video. I like your style and have become a new subscriber. But I should say concerning new backpackers, when it comes to the big 3, I wouldn't advise going cheaper. They'll just end up spending more money upgrading. Ask me how I know. Instead I would suggest getting an REI membership and go all in on the shelter, sleep system and backpack. They have a year to change their mind and can either keep it, downsize or return it. If I could do it all over again that would have saved me a bunch of time and money. But if they can't afford to do that, then the videos on budget gear alternatives are super helpful. Safe travels.
Only thing keeping me from getting the hammock set up is Murphy's Law. Just looks like there are a thousand little things that could go wrong and cause chaos. Looks mega super comfy though!! I think im just too reckless for them lmao
Once you try the bidet, you will only need the bidet, 1 ply of paper towel and hand sanitizer (for just in case) for every poop sesion. Even at home I installed a bidet on my toilet and never used toilet paper again. One ply of paper towel is enough. Cheers.
Crocs for camp shoes....your feet just say...Aaahhhh. Worth their weight in ....well, weight. 😆
cool vd 🙃
Waiting on a stringer to the tune of freefallin
Great to have you back! What Dan is doing is a wonderful thing!
Why don't we clean up America first and then worry about other countries or isn't that being fashionable.
I like how you set up your hammock RIGHT ON the trail. You can see that red blaze on the tree you're strapped to.
I also have the Toaks 750 pot and use it for boiling water. I would also like to cook meals other than freeze dried ones, so could I still use the titanium. Not sure I really want to have an aluminum or stainless steel post because of it's higher weight, but maybe. The other thing I would luke to do is have the option of using the pot on an open fire. So, really, I need that one perfect pot for boiling water, AND simmering pasta, for example, AND using over a fire.
Dan has been doing some incredible stuff. Thank you for sharing this Have a great day my Kentucky brother 👊🏻
Glad to see you back, and your are right that you need to take care of yourself. I hope to see more videos, but if not, I will still listen to the Podcast.
Hammock camper here. The reason I do it is because it's lighter, more compact and I have better climate control when I sleep. The underquilt and maneuverability of a rain fly allowing me to invite a cool breeze or block wind to stay warm is superior to a tent, but you can't camp with your family, or take it when you group camp in a hot tent.
