Chicken Tramper gear is worth the wait. Their system to attach the fanny pack is pretty smart and has made me a fan of those over hip belt pouches (I was one of those guys in the 90s). I have been known to recently rock one from time to time around town.

This is actually one of my favorite videos right now! Great selection on gear and the GRAYL is my #1 new gear for 2021! Just got the Ultrapress and have used both the ultralight and geopress on trail. The water tastes great and since it removes viruses among other elements it is a no brainer for me. Just placed a CTUG pack order for an American Flag themed 45L. Could not be more pumped to support Chicken Tramper, and I am so happy to see them getting more popular. Oh and to clarify, they sell four a month and sell out times are sub half hour. Worth it 100% though.

I know you have moved on to the CTUG pack, but you totally inspired my ULA ohm 2.0 purchase as a Christmas gift from my husband!! I love that it is so customizable on ordering as far as sizing goes. I hope to lose a lot of weight in the upcoming year and being able to switch out hip belts seems like an awesome feature. I can’t wait to get it out on trail.

The fanny pack worn in front has been my secret weapon since about 1971. Others laughed ... until they tried it. 2-3 lbs. of gear that is readily accessible AND not riding on my shoulders! I outfitted mine with a couple of leather patches that are attachment points for straps. So if I leave camp for a day hike, or if I'm only going on a day hike to begin with, I wear it in the back and strap on a rolled up jacket, a chair, a tarp or whatever I might want for that particular hike. You go, JK! Love your channel.

That mug, John... I am sorry your Thanksgiving weekend was so sad. My fiance is a Michigan grad, and his sisters are both Buckeyes. (One of them is actually in the OSU Athletics Hall of Fame.) It was a fascinating weekend for me. I'm a die hard SEC fan (the 9th LSU grad in my family), so I was just about overdosed on the Big 10 by the end of that weekend. I imagine you get that in reverse some living in SEC country. 😂

Chicken Tramper Ultralight Gear ( CTUG ) really have quality items. I wanted a UL pack that wears like a normal pack and has all of the features. I fount it with the ( CTUG ) 25 liter day pack. One advantage Nathan offered me was the ability to do some customizing on my pack when he made it. I needed the shoulder straps further apart then the off the shelf packs. The right strap had to miss my implanted defibrillator/pacer and that meant they had to be further apart. The ( CTUG ) 25 is a smaller pack that's huge on all the big pack benefits. Holds all of my gear , and wears like a normal size pack with the provided hip belt. The belt takes most of the weight off my shoulders and transfers it to the hips. Now the shoulder straps can be looser and even miss my implanted unit. I recently ordered a 4 liter fanny pack from them in the same color design as the pack. It will hold all of the personal ( readily accessible ) items.

@@john_kelley it is expensive for sure. It is not as comfortable as my Ap Gear Hoodie, but I believe it is a little warmer. It has some nice features like vented arm pits, but the hood is the bomb. It forms to your head or hat and it will not blow off in the wind. The coolest part is it does not have a draw string in the hood or any adjustment.

Hard agree about the apalachian gear hoody. My only gripe is that if it gets wet it stinks like a barnyard animal (which the immediatley goes away after it dries) I have worn it almost daily for a month and a half and done some hikes in it as well. As a heavy sweater it smells BAD of barnyard after the hikes just as a disclaimer for some which again, goes away after you let it dry. However its so comfortable and amazing I wear it almost every day.
