    I'll be joining you soon. Don't worry about the foreigner discrimination, in all honesty, I probably wouldn't want to rent to foreigners either and I'm not Japanese.

    The C mode is so true. Best function of my R5, who has 6 presets. You can have C1,2,3 photo, quick switch to video using the info button and now video C1,2,3 with entirely different settings...

    To much noise in any Japanese home can lead you to losing your Contract to live there. Found that out the hard way back in 2019, with my partner.

    Noise was big factor when searching for my apartment. Luckily I managed to find this one that has concrete walls and floors. It’s been very quiet in terms of neighbours over the last 6 months, yet my brain is still wired from my noisy London flat causing me to creep around quietly anyway 😅 Sorry to hear your contract was cut short though - that’s rough!

    I feel you. I'm going though the same. Just relocated to Tokyo the first of August and took me 6 months finally find an apartment. Rejected 3 times! But now settling in. I just had my furniture shipped from the US and pleasantly surprised on how easy it was, just need patients, time and planning. Going through the same with naviagating all the payment processes as you say are in Japanese and it has taken some time to figure it out. Still not all figured out. Just have to be patient, but I love it here! Really happy now that I'm getting settled in. Good Luck Joe. Seen you series on Made in Japan. Love them.

    Yes, but the 16-55 is too heavy for vlogs. I only use it for stills when I need very high sharpness. But for video it is much more than I need. That's why it's better to have light prime lenses and it's better to have them stabilized.

    @Joe Allam, Japanese do not discriminate you when renting apartments. They know that foreigners has the tendency to be loud, rude and careless, compared to Japanese people in general. Gaijin (a white/ western foreigner) gave them the stigma of being rude, dirty and careless... Therefor they group all Gaijin together and don't wish to rent them the apartments. They very much care what their neighborhood. And the neighbors think of them. It is same in Europe and the states. We don't want the wrong tenants..... It's. Not discrimination.

  • @joeallam
    @joeallam11 күн бұрын

    You've quite literally just gone out of your way to describe the discrimination _exactly_ 😂 You are stating that because someone fits into a certain demographic (where they're from), they must therefor *all* be the same (rude, dirty and careless).

  • @raisingbarssince1978

    Watch Manny Ortiz's video on how bad the focusing is. Forgot the specs and features. If it struggles to focus, who cares about anything else. No mechanical shutter so it's poor option for photography due to banding and picture quality. Very limited record time length. Ergos so bad they gave out free 3rd party grips to all the reviewers. No EVF. No hot shoe so cannot use a flash etc. No headphone jack. The PROs?: Stabilization is top notch. If you are a Lumix fanboy buy a Lumix s5ii.

    Kudos to panasonic for trying and giving us the s9 (open gate, LUTS, full frame) but for a 2024 camera i think there are more cons than pros. They should have hired enthusiasts to better make a better camera. Rolling shutter, no viewfinder, poor lens and more.
