My wishlist and requests for the next iteration of the Fuji X100 series, which I am predicting will be called the Fujifilm X100R. If you have your own requests, let me know in the comments!
I made a video similar to this about my predictions and hopes for the X100V that turned out to be surprisingly accurate and even picked up by Fujifilm themselves. Following that video, I've grown a close connection to Fujifilm in Japan, so I know many of these requests may be taken deeply and potentially considered for future camera models.

My wishlist and requests for the next iteration of the Fujifilm X100 series, which I am predicting will be called the Fujifilm X100R. How many do you agree with? P.S. Apologies for the clipped audio in the second half; I think I nudged the gain dial on my mic 🙄

I've owned a x100f for 3 years. I've used the Optical EVF a handful of times. I do think since they have the 40mp sensor, that would be a great addition. On the same note, while this is not a video priority camera, I think some additional video capabilities would be great. I love the ideas of library of recipes for both the stills and videos.

Quick shoutout to a fellow right-handed, left eye dominant shooter! This sometimes makes rangefinders feel awkward to me, but what would life be without a few first world problems. Losing the OVF might be a bridge too far for a lot of people, as it's crucial to quick framing when anticipating a subject moving through the scene. However, the other way I do that now is to pretend I'm reviewing previous shots, while waiting for the subject to "place themselves" or just to stop paying attention to me, then, click. Works great on my XT1, almost impossible without the flip screen. So I'd keep it for the out of frame borders the OVF gives. I personally have already been wishing for a different focal length, but want a bit shorter, not longer, for me. One thing I really want in the next X100 is to be truly water-proof or at least resistant, right out of the bag. Without having to add a filter/adapter. And +1 to bringing back the D-pad.

I’m with you on the EVF quality. I shoot Sony for work, and the x100f has been my day to day camera. I refuse to use the evf, and just shoot using the screen because of the lack of quality/accuracy of the Fuji evf. The colors, contrast, and saturation even at base settings on the evf menu, look terrible and I’m hoping that definitely gets addressed.

@@ytfeelslikenorthkorea The X-E4 isn't the same. For a start there's no pancake 23mm lens comparable to the one in the X-100 series. Putting a decent 23mm prime on there would drastically increase the size of the overall camera. You'd also loose the lovely leaf shutter. It also lacks several other hardware features, such as the focus switch, the ISO dial, weather proofing etc.

You meet the Fuji Guys and you ask for rubbish things...really...what if H2s sensor in it? What if I can select with one shot make 10 \12 film simulations on the card? Like Olympus, what if they make the camera of brass, like LEICA? What if they make a winding mechanism to change film simulations like you do when using film camera? Would have more film like feedback! And u see the film simulations like on x-pro3? What if cf express type b as single card, leave 23mm but make it 1.2! We have those add on lens to make it 18 or 35mm equivalent What if a bag from Ona made for Fujifilm....but the most important thing would have been massive sale!!!! X100 series with FF sensor and fixed lens! No one would buy LEICA!!!!! The only FF camera from Fujifilm. And please make the thumb rest embedded in the body not in the hot shoe and the bigger battery
All I want is for Fuji to have a functional app to transfer photos over wifi/Bluetooth and for the clarity setting to not slow down the shot. Other than that, the V is near perfect for me. I still use the xt3 and still don’t feel like I need to upgrade. These cameras will last.

@@joeallam Joe please tell Fujifilm to give us 99 custom user presets minimum but more would be better and an option to add a photo of a 35mm film next to the text, such as a photo of a Kodak Tri-X400.
I agree we need the d-pad back - on all systems. I'd love a 28mm equiv lens. Oh, and if the RICOH GR III can fit IBIS into that tiny body, Fuji should be able to figure that out in their next x100.
As an X100 lover, I can agree to most points you mentioned. Here is my wishlist: - IBIS/OIS (adding some kind of stabilization would make this the ultimate travel camera. No tripod needed and great for short video clips). - 40MP - Better manual focus - Improved auto focus - D-pad - Keep the 23mm focal length and instead improve the conversion lenses. 28 is too wide, 35 ist too narrow. 23 is perfect. Incredible versatile! - Keep the design, but improve overall build quality (more machined aluminum, better camera strap lugs, less plastic). Software - Finer tone curve control (either adding a mid tone option or ability to shift as Joe mentioned). - Color grading for highlights and shadows. (This would open up soooo many possibilities for custom recipes 🤩) - Ability to apply different recipes on an image in camera. So instead of changing all the values, just selecting a saved recipe to convert the image.

Actually I think 35mm is too narrow, thats why we see other manufacturers like leica, ricoh adopt 28mm full frame equivalent lens for their fixed lens cameras… also iPhone’s main lens is 28mm equivalent lens.
Ricoh GRIII is way smaller and have IBIS! XT4/XT5 is not much bigger and have IBIS. X100R with IBIS (+ flash, + weather sealing) will kill Ricoh GR. And another thing, I know is too much :) This is not really pocketable, so even if they can reduce few millimetres, for fit larger number of pockets, that would be welcome.
The OVF is one of the main thing that make this camera.
X100 Monochrome would be cool too
In my humble opinion, the price of the X100V wasn’t an issue until the production slowed down and the resell market boomed. This should still be held as a premium camera in the next generation; it should perform well but the experience should come first. Fuji is making a similar lineup to Leica with their X100, X-Pro, XH2, and XH2S (equivalent to Leica’s Q2, M11, SL2, SL2S in terms of their niching) and I think it’s genius. My wishlist consists mainly of 40mp sensor, better weather sealing/resistance, a manual focus clutch like the Q2 to allow for true manual focus, and a more flush and bigger/brighter OVF. The graphite would be beautiful! And maybe a good compromise for the lens would be a 27mm instead of 23 or 35. Great video as always Joe!!
My wishlist: - X-trans 5 processor with 26mp bsi sensor - new 27mm f2 lens - the new np-w235 battery - 3 way flip out screen - dust proof sealing - improved electronic viewfinder
Fujifilm did have the X70 with XTrans II sensor, which is basically an 18.5mm X100 without OVF. I wish they would bring it back.
For me, I'd love to see the autofocus speed improve. I ended up selling my X100V for an X-E4 and the autofocus difference was huge! I also fully support a 35mm version (which I'd LOVE) and getting lots of custom profiles for your own fuji recipes would be awesome. Hope they listen to you, Joe!
I'd love to have an 'X35'. Fell in love with Fuji using the Xpro1 + 35 F1.4. Love that focal lenght and lens. There is some magic in that combo...Xtrans 1 sensor.
Completely agree on the 35mm option!!! And the points about more detailed options to set up recipies and keep a larger library of them in camera 👍🏻
Agree - stick the D-Pad back. Some won't want it, but those who do will very much appreciate it. The original X100 is still the best camera I ever owned. Tempted to buy another.
Great points and comments. I'm quite invested into Canon full frame ecosystem, but the camera I use the most lately is x-pro2. It is such a fun camera to use. And those fuji recipes... that was probably the main reason why i got myself a fuji camera. I really love that feature, especially for day-to-day memories and photos. Color grading for the highlights and shadows would be an amazing feature to improve these recipes 🙂
Great suggestions! I fully agree with them, Joe! Can’t wait to see the next iteration of the X100 series.
Everybody loves the X100 series for its vintage look and vibe. Yet, everybody wants all this fancy tech along with it. When everybody complains about the older 23mm lens I just laugh. Isn't that what makes the camera? A non-clinical charactered lens. The perfect iteration (for me) of the X100 series is the F (in brown). The T with that older lens and 16mp is the best looking image. If you need more than all this... you're choosing the wrong camera.
I'm rooting for the return of the D-Pad on the future X100 ! It would become so much more functional and simple to use... Great video as usual, and nice suggestions !
The OVF is pretty great for flash work actually, I've used it for NY 80s direct-flash style in gigs and clubs. And of course you can get ready for people walking into frame.
Amazing video mate
I want to see them bring the brown & silver color back! 📸
Stabilization is definitely not a requirement for the camera, but it is definitely doable. The Ricoh GR III and IIIx both have amazing Ibis, and they're smaller cameras with collapsible lenses. That being said, I would love to have an actual rangefinder version of the x100. Leica and pixii are the only manufacturers making range finder cameras and they're incredibly expensive. I would love to see an affordable camera with this focusing system and with fuji colors.
@jaychow94

Having a rangefinder would be amazing, and would also be fitting for naming it the X100R
Breathing new life into the x70 with it's 18mm would be outstanding! And highlight weighted metering is feature you don't what to miss, if you've used it before. Viel Erfolg, beaucoup de chance & may the force be with you!
Great ideas! I hope the make this one soon!
I had the X70 with an 18mm lens and it was great. Just needed a higher MP so it's more "croppable". The Q2 is great for having a highly croppable wide lens.
Love the idea of customised recopies!!! Imagine we can create a library of different film styles! Kodak, fujifilm, all the discontinued negative films.
My X100V is entirely a travel and landscape photography camera on backpacking trips. To that end, my desires are: - The ability to bracket Custom Settings. - Remove the in-body flash. - Remove the horizontal control wheel on the front. - A 23mm FF equivalent conversion lens. Large aperture unimportant. Could be 5.6 on the bottom end and I'd be happy, if they can keep it small. - More timer options than just 2s and 10s. - Better battery life. - Better reliability connected with smartphone.
I have an X100F. I have been considering getting XPro-4 if that ever comes into existence. But if your dream comes true, and they make an X35, I would get that instead. I would absolutely love to see it. I am not a fan of the conversion lenses. I also love your idea of separating the custom modes for the mechanical camera settings from the visual settings. I need that on every digital camera ever. Surprised I haven't seen that mentioned or implemented before. Optical viewfinder is absolutely necessary. If you take that away, I might as well go buy an X-E4. The one thing I really want that you didn't mention is better wireless connectivity. I don't know about the V, but the F is just so flaky when connecting to my phone wirelessly. I want to take photos on the camera and have them automatically show up on my phone seamlessly. I need it to be reliable, fast, and easy. Another wireless issue is that the new INSTAX Square Link does not connect directly to my X100F the way the old ones could. If I buy a new Fuji camera I want to be able to take photos with it and print them directly without having to use my phone as an intermediary. That said, if the wireless connection with the phone was more reliable, this would be less of a problem.
Great video Joe! I would love to see stabilization in the next version of the x100.
I feel like if the Ricoh GRiii line can be incorporate ibis, Fuji should by able to as well. 😢
My wishlist for the X100R: 1. D-pad 2. Dual SD card 3. Move the tripod mount so that it doesn't block the battery door when mounted 4. Pop-out flash from top such that it doesn't cast a shadow when a lens hood is on and can be flicked up to bounce from the ceiling (like Canon G7X MII) 5. Larger strap lugs
I completely agree, I would love a wider X100 using an 18 f2 lens built-in with a 40Mp sensor to allow some crop options. I don't use the OVF on my X-Pro3 so an EVF only camera would allow some cost savings and possibly free-up some room inside the camera. A higher resolution EVF, even better.
I have heard someone else ask for "custom luts" that could be baked into the codec, based on the same recipe formulas that people use for film sims. If these two ideas could be combined internally, that would be game changing for both photographers and videographers.
The OVF has to stay. Without it, the X100 becomes an XT-x or whatever else. Could not shoot without it personally.
Agree with most of your thoughts Joe. Personally I am a big fan of the 23mm especially as a general purpose travel camera but it would be interesting to see a 35mm model as well.
I basically support everything you said. I hope Fujifilm will take notice of this!
Finally someone talks about this! The X100 line is due for a refresh. My X100S is on its last legs and I’m waiting for a new X100(R) to come out. My wish list: 1. Faster focusing 2. Silent shooting is accessible w/ a function button like in the X100S 3. Focusing distance marker on the lens for zone focusing 4. Improved EVF & LCD 5. Better bluetooth & app for importing the images to my phone
I’m with you on having distance markings on the lens!
Great Idea, Today, one thing that pushed me to use Lr is color grading. If FUJIFILM can in-body color grading adjusted, it'll game changer for years.
I agree with you about the OVF; I'd love to see a lower cost version with EVF-only. Besides the possible benefit of lower cost, it also removes a point of failure risk on the camera. Personally, I'd prefer for it to stay with the 23mm lens and use the higher res sensor + EVF frame cropping to get a 35 FoV. 100% on board with the addition of accurate focus distance markings on the lens.
Wish-list for the upcoming X100 6, VI, or X100R: - to use the new 40 MP sensor - IBIS - sharper lens, to resolve the 40MP sensor - fully weather sealed w/o need of a lens filter - Graphite or Dura black color options
Joe, love your vids. I think the X100 series has reached its max. Tks!
Your videos look so nice and soft in a good way! BTW, I dodged the X100V due to the lack of the D-pad. Crazy how people want it just because other people want it!
Ricoh gr has ibis in a smaller body. So I guess fuji could do it too
I think the key to the x100 series is its simplicity. Having multiple versions with and without an OVF and two options for the fixed lens focal length might just complicate it too much. I’d push them to invest more in software. The newer cameras are still too buggy and there are lots of advancements in AI that could help with out of camera files. I’d also like to see better AF focus motors in the lens. FWIW I’ve found if you keep the little plastic covers on the lug mount rings they won’t scratch the camera.

I definitely agree on pushing more software advancements. It continues to baffle me how smartphones have improved drastically on interface design and experience, yet cameras still use such basic looking/feeling menu systems. In terms of simplifying the line up though, I'm only really thinking there would/could be two options and they'd probably differ by focal length. If I'm honest, I don't think they'd ditch the OVF, so it would likely remain as it is.
Must have OVF!!!!!!!!
@joeallam

I think the OVF is super smart and definitely a defining characteristic of the camera, but I have to acknowledge that I rarely use it. I'm still unsure how I feel about it though, especially when I heard it's one of the most expensive parts of the whole camera 😣

Agreed. An x100 or an xpro without the ovf would destroy the essence completely. My interest would go to negative 100. I’m sure many many others would feel the same.
As a photographer who shoots primarily on 35mm prime lens on full frame, I completely agree with your point on the slightly wider angle of view… 28mm gives you much more flexibility to shoot in smaller places as well as including more in the frame without being too wide.
They did have the X70 with the 18mm and I’d love to see that camera come back.

I agree about the graphite silver & charcoal color. That knee control would be something cool to have. I dunno if newer models changed it, but in my X-E2S there it only gives me custom wb preset, having a few would be helpful. If the recipe requires another wb setting it changes the wb of the other saved preset.
100% agree with you. Special editions, one with a 35mm fixed lens.
Great video! Thank you! I was literally consciously thinking right before I found your video how much more I like the 35 mm lens on my X-E4 then I do the 23mm lens on my X100V. Since I got the X-E4 I am in love with the photos from the 35mm F2 I am blown away. While I love the X100V still and have been a 35mm shooter my entire life on full frame I have really been impressed with the 50mm equivalent (35mm) on the X-E4 same sensor.
@joeallam

If I'm truly honest, I think getting the 35mmF2 was the start to my declining use of my X100F. The X100 is still such a joy to use, but whenever I return to the 35mm lens it just feels more natural for my style.
I like simplicity. My favourite Camera was the Canon 50D which was for photos only...no video. I have also used the Leica Q which has a very simple menu. I find the X100V menu over complicated although once it is set up the results are excellent.
Please do not make it more complicated to use. Redo the app on the phone so it connects and works. I like the idea of the return of the DPad to avoid the menu or the accursed touch screen. I had thought that the 26 MP was more than adequate, but 40 MP would make the the digital zoom more useable. I really like 23mm. I don't use the optical viewfinder much either, but I like that it is there.
Totally supporting your ideas, these are really great and real photographer needs, FUJIFILM have to add a lot more sensible features into X100 in order to differentiate itself from using a phone for snapshots, and out of all the camera brands, if one brand can top this, it will be FUJIFILM! Loyal Fuji shooter over 10 years, please keep it going! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Would love the graphite option. Also agree on higher res for cropping. I would vote for 18mm and 27ishmm. I'm wondering/hoping if they could put stabilization in the lens (rather than stabilize the sensor). Seems like that might be more doable, yes? In terms of body design, I really like the shoulder on the x-e4. Was bummed that the x100v didn't have that. Here's an idea I'm sure many will hate, but I would like: do the x-pro3 style flip down screen on x100r. 😃That will never happen.
Graphite body and D-pad with 35mm sensor... it is going to be my dream camera.. the ricoh GRiii had manage to squeezed IBIS on such a small camera. I think it can happen on the next X100. I hope.
Great recommendations! I completely share your enthusiasm for a 35mm version. I was hoping for an update announcement at the X Summit in May, but the subtext of your video is that it will probably be a longer wait. 😢
So I’m watching this video living all the great info and ideas and I found myself dying laughing because I too love the Manhole 🕳️covers in Japan. Especially the ones with enamel or epoxy colorfills. Happy to know I’m not alone 😂
It happens that I agree with all your recommendations Joe. I still shoot with the X100S; X-T1; and X-H1 each having it's own unique purposes, but I must admit that the X100S gives me the most enjoyment for street photography. I never felt the need or desire to upgrade to the T, F, or V models as I have been waiting for many of the upgrades you have suggested herein (D pad a must; IBIS would be great; 26mp is enough for me; graphite would seal the deal). I do worry however about Fuji's inability to fulfill new camera orders the last 2 years or so (X100V, X-E4, etc). I hope they can get that straightened out.
If the GRIII can be stabilized so can the X100 without growing the body size. Even a 3 axis stabilizer would be great.
Oh my goodness! I agree totally about the JPEG recipes! It would be so great to have an easier way to switch between even more options and make it easier to just share directly without editing! And a 35mm option would be fantastic!
I owned a Lumix x2 crop camera with the 20mm pancake equating to a 40mm FOV, it was a really nice sweet spot. Fuji's 27mm (FOV 40.5mm) is a well received lens. 18mm distorts noses etc, 35mm 1.5x crop 52.5 FOV often feels tight at say a restaurant table. So my vote is for a 27mm. Bring pack D-Pad, I expect 40MP. And for the adaptive wide angle lens to still be applicable.
@joeallam
Жыл бұрын
I could get onboard with a 27mm option too! I've not used the 27mmF2.8 but also constantly hear great things!
More film simulation save options would be amazing. I think it would be so cool to be able to download simulations from your phone and put them on your camera via bluetooth.
My requests are 40MP Sensor if they can add IBIS and/or OIS to the 23mm. Would love to see the 23mm be a 1.8 or 1.7 like the Q2. If they can do IBIS on the X-S10 and it is very small then they should be able to add it to the X100R. If IBIS can not be added without a major increase in size then the 26MP with OIS. This way we can go a bit lower on our shutter speed in lower light without cranking the ISO. The D Pad for sure !! Ty D
1-up on the d-pad! Yeah, yeah you can use gestures (which i did), just today we were shooting family pics and I programmed the timer shortcut to one of the gestures. Guess what happened? Nothing… the gestures does nothing. Later on i had to format the sd card and then all gestures came back to normal again - so weird. 26MP IMO is enough for street and travel camera. My wishlists for the next x100: 1. D-pad, don’t give 2 sh*ts on gestures 2. Better grip, doesn’t make sense to use 3rd party grip to comfortably hold the camera 3. 27mm lens (40mm FF equivalent) lens 4. Snap focus like function 5. More memory bank for film simulations 6. Proper app, I mean c’mon ….
@joeallam
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I haven't gotten on well with the gestures either! They just seem so inconsistent.
D pad and graphite 🔥🔥🔥🔥 with the viewfinder and flush LCD screen from the V
Library idea is cool, you could even make it so they are stored on the SD card hypothetically. Would love to see a return to x10-x30 line with a zoom lens that collapses. Removing the ovf is a horrible idea
For me: xt3/5 or x70 flip screen, create a way so the flash doesn't get hindered by lens hood, dpad, save autoWB settings to a custom one, highlight metering, markings on lens, being able to limit the cycle between simulations, limit the ovf/evf/screen display (able to turn off LCD screen with a push of a button), give focus distant scale in autofocus modes, being able to have more than one custom af limiter or give us the option to customize a button that will allow us to toggle desired distance like ricohs snap focus.
Without the OVF it will be just an XE5 with fixed lens. If they make more versions, one should be as analog as possible, manual focus and true range finder patch, maybe without the back screen. They also need to update the ancient app to pair it with this “analog” version, more like a Leica M-D.
A full manual version with a true rangefinder focusing would be my dream camera. But i'll never happen in a million years
Loving the X35 suggestion; I prefer to shoot quite a bit tighter than 23mm. My XF33 is practically glued to my X-T5.
As x100v user, in my humble opinion, there is no need for dpad. I love how simple and minimal this camera is, reminds me my Leica. To be honest, I would rather reduce amount of buttons even more, because x100 (IMHO) is pure photography experience, all you need for photography is couple of dials for exposure and a shutter button.
The hybrid viewfinder is an essential part of what makes an X100 an X100. A prime lens, aps-c, rangefinder with an evf option. That's the essence of the camera.
We’re did you get your moment cinebloom filter from I’ve look everywhere ???
I had my X100f put away for at least a year, with considerations of selling it. I took it out a few days ago on a family trip and it reignited my passion. Especially considering my Ricoh GRIII Diary edition had a lens error after 3 months of ownership..

@@joeallam Size wise it still holds its place, compared to smaller offerings. How often do you take yours out?
Joe, the tonal adjustment idea is brilliant. The recently announced panasonic s5ii has the “real-time lut” feature which should give you that in a more polished way.
Joe - Great video! I too have owned and used all of the X100 iterations, and find that I rarely use the OVF. I would really appreciate a much more accurate screen inside the viewfinder, especially one, that would provide a closer approximation to the actual color and contrast of the scene I am viewing. I am very surprised at the request for a 35mm version. I love the 28mm as it now stands and occasionally use the WCL optional add-on lens when I really do need a wider view. I use the electronic teleconverter option regularly for getting the 50 and 75mm equivalent focal lengths. I have no issues with the quality of the images I get using it, and have my camera set to use the focus ring to change or ‘zoom’ when required. What I wish is that there was a way for me to shoot in manual (which I do a lot) and still maintain the digital TC option, so that I can quickly access it. I have set a Custom Function in this fashion but agree with you that we could certainly use more C functions as well as the ability to custom label those C functions so that they are more readily identifiable. I would love to have full weather sealing without having to use the filter’ option. Thanks again for a great video. Lets hope that you will be able to influence Fuji somewhat for the next X100 series camera.
Colors grading will be great!
I've thought about some of the things you mentioned here myself and would really appreciate a wide angle lens addition, full weather sealing, other colours, an easier way of removing strap but would like to see a 2 axes tilting screen, as well. Thanks for the video!
I currently have the 100f. I would have upgraded to the 100v but I would miss the D pad. Bring it back. A graphite model would be fantastic.

I always loved the Fujifilm system because of their Filmsimulations. More storage for film recipes would be a fantastic addition. Also the new 40MPix sensor would allow them to change the focal length of the lens. And the new battery please!!!
Right on, and ditto on the 35mm! Current lens is just too wide for me! Cheers!
Great video ! Have binged your stuff about Fuji cameras and love the way you explain everything and go into depth with so much passion. I know it’s a long shot but I’m in need of some advice. I have the x100f and love shooting it and now want a Fuji series x which I can change the lense and don’t know which one. My top camera right now is the x-t5 but I want to hear from you and anyone that reads this comment. I’ve been taking photos and professionally doing so for a while now but I’m new to Fuji so I need some help with making up my mind. Thanks to anyone that can see this and give me some input ◡̈
BTW the 23mm lens on the x100s APS-C body is a 35mm full frame equivalent. Awesome video by the way. I've really been enjoying my X100V.
YES YES YES, Fujifilm listen to Joe, he knows what we want. 35mm, oh yes!
I agree with most things you say, especially about Edits and tone curves. I would love a 18mm lens with more pixels for cropping. The ovf must stay, it’s the heart and soul of the camera even though I don’t use it 😳. If you want a 35mm lens and just evf get the xe4, one of my favourite fujis ever. 👍
D-pad for sure! How about a brown version like the X100F? (I often had people stop me in the street and ask about my "film camera".) I use OVF 50% of the time since it saves battery. I'm not sure about different lens versions. I think that's why they made the x-pro series. 23mm (35mm) was too narrow for me so I moved to the x-pro2 and 16mm (24mm) for street / events. But yeah, a brown X100R, D-pad, 40mp, and a 16mm (24mm) would be grand!
Love the idea of of probably a 27mm, somewhere in between 😊
you guys ok Joe... I keep checking for new videos ! no worries no stress

Hey, thanks for checking in - had a bit of an unexpected start to the year and taken some time away from everything for the moment. Instagram is about the only place I've been posting lately, but I'll be back to KZread soon once I'm back on my feet fully 🙏
my wishes: d-pad bracketing with multiple image presets (not complicated to code) image presets with custom Red and Blue settings for each
If you don't want the OVF get an X-E4 they made this already. The fixed lens really contributes to the "pure" photo experience and part of that is the OVF which pairs nicely with a fixed focal length. (And FWIW from this gen of Fuji X-E4 is what I have) and yes it is cheaper.
It seems a little bit like X100* might not be the camera for you to be honest. I'd get rid of the OVF and you want a different focal length. Seems like you're asking for them to make X70 v2 maybe?

X70 was too wide a lens for me - in all other forms, it felt like a great looking camera and seemingly forgotten over the years. Admittedly I use my X-H2S (and previously X-T4) way more than my X100F, but the X100 is still such a joy to use!
I would settle for a x100v that can be actually ordered :)
I'd love for them to be in stock! 🤣
If they removed the OVF, maybe there would be enough room to put in a stabilized sensor. That, and a higher resolution EVF would be what I'd like to see in an upgrade from my X100F.
Colour grading would be excellence. And I love the idea with numbers of simulation library instead of 7.
Only thing i would like from the x100R is IBIS so i can use slower shutter speeds for indoor static objects. D pad returning would also be nice. Otherwise it's close to perfect as is. Perhaps improve the weather sealing so that i don't need to use an adapter?

Yep, IBIS a game changer rather than some of what could be described as more cosmetic wishes. Low light hand held performance for me is more important than the colour of the body for example.
The whole app / software system for phone / computer needs to be reworked and streamlined. First, how about having the phone app being able to store your personal library of recipes to be easily swapped in and out of the custom settings on camera, if it does this I haven’t found it! Second, and perhaps more important, be able to create/edit recipes in the app and add to your library as it would be much quicker than manually editing/creating in camera and mean that on the go creation can be done without using Fuji Raw Studio. Third and final…make the app work much quicker/better than it currently does at connecting to the cameras!

Along with my other requests, I nag them about the app all the time haha! It's great that they're incredibly receptive to feedback though and have such open dialogue.
