We live in an era of industrial production that focus in quantity not quality. I think that growing your own food is the way to go if you want to eat quality products that are healthy and have the taste we remember from when we where kids. I am lucky in having a 5 acres piece of land where I have around 600 fruit trees with more than 300 edible varieties, so I have room to experiment. My degree in Biology helps a lot in understanding the fundamentals of plant growing but is no substitute for experience. This channel was started to pass along some of that experience to others that can benefit from it, even if they grow only a few fruit trees, in a small backyard. If you enjoy my videos help the channel to grow by Subscribing and Sharing the videos you like.

well this work on pine trees?
bro this was an amazing video thank you
You're either grafted in or not. Our lives prove whether we were grafted in or not. If you're grafted in the vine you're going to produce what the vine produces. Some are wanting to be thorns and receive the benefits of the grafted in.
How long did it take to root the large branch?
Another great video, thanks!
I really appreciate your videos. So much knowledge shared. Thanks so much!!!
Pratiquez vous la greffe en sifflet ? Quelle est la meilleure technique pour le noter ? Bravo pour vos vidéos
Well explained how long will it takes to bear
Great ty
I have a question that i hope you dont mind me asking. I was wondering what type of tape is the black tape you use. It doesnt appear to be electric tape. Also... is that regular parafilm you are using? I watch your videos many times over and over again. Thank you for teaching us. Thank you for helping those that would otherwise not know where to start. Your videos give me confidence!
I just love your videos, they give me the confidence to experiment with different techniques. This year I used a modified whip & tongue technique on 50 apple rootstocks that I never got round to grafting last year with 100% success.
Great video! What kind of grafting tape is that? The black one you use
My friend was a botanist, and he imported exotic citrus from Southeast Asia. He'd then make several grafts from one of the plants, and he'd sell both the fruit and whole plants for a pretty penny. He had stuff that nobody else had, mostly various mandarins and finger limes. He would also use tie down methods that would maximize fruit production for the space (need to be potted in our climate to bring indoors during winter).

Thank you, great content
how do you know that the branches are still dormant?
Thank you for teaching me several grafting techniques .My success rate is about 75 % on rootstocks as I have a problem with Fire Blight .
Handsome man!
Thank you for all the great content you produce. I have learned a lot from watching your videos.
Name of your fig scion species

Sir can graft multiple varites in grapes ... like if two branches of Y shap can Graff two varieties and yet get a good result??
This is the most helpful video I have seen on pruning fruit trees. Thanks for making it and for taking the time to share your knowledge!
Out of all the videos I have watched, these are giving me answers to almost all the questions I have in my head. Thank you! Obviously, you know what could be important for a novice like myself... I do not have experience with fruit trees, maybe one day... I started with mulberry trees, and I had success with patch grafting on new (the same year) branches, but I would like to try with either modified cleft or bark grafting, on older branch of the rootstock. I would really enjoy and appreciate a video about that...
Onde é que se arranja a fita parafilme??
Thanks to you I suceesfully grafted a necterine branch on to a peach tree here in central Portugal!! Thanks so much for your excellent videos!! Muito obrigado pelos videos excelentes!!
Very good information to farmers
Your pron video is much more important to us. Please always give your essential time to all farmers for their better knowledge.
Great message to farmer's🎉
nice job
When I first heard about grafting trees there was a professor that had 40 different fruit on one tree
almonds are fruits?
I've heard of this technique, but the details in your video make it so much clearer. Great content, thank you!
Thank you sir
Sacadura, a nomenclatura portuguesa é de "cavalo" e "cavaleiro" para as duas partes do enxerto? Ou há outros nomes?
Thank you for all videos what you have made and upload to your channel. Those encourage me to try apple grafting with good success. Now I have made 100+ grafting to my future apple orchard here in Finland. All the best to you.
Brother your videos are very nice and the way you describe with enough details to get your message through is much appreciated. I saw your 2 videos (this and one about grafting Scions ) and both have cleared so many doubts that I earlier had . Just 2 videos and I am a subscriber of your content. This was very motivating to work for my plants . Also I like you voice as well. Keep up the good work 💪🔥
Excellent video. Quick question….on one of the bark grafts it appears as if the long , sloping cut faces outwards not facing the rootstock. Is this a mistake? btw how sharp are your knives. ? Shaving sharp? Do you use sharpening stones? What’s your final grit size? Stopping as well?
No, it's not a mistake. That outward cut won't do nothing regarding the graft union. It's just to slim down the scion to produce a better fit under the bark. Check my videos on grafting knife use, selection and sharpening, like these two (kzread.info/dash/bejne/X3Wnw9qood27aJs.html and kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z5eYsKelfJi_eKw.html). They will probably answer all your questions.
@@JSacadura Many thanks Great videos
Glad we don't have them in US. I see the border wars show where they throw away all food. I'm glad
Siempre contenido de calidad
Thank you for all your time and effort in making these videos! They have helped me immensely! I was wondering, how long can you keep dormant scions in the fridge before they aren't viable?
You can get away with 2 months, in most cases. After that, it depends on fruit type, but most will not be in a condition that will allow graft success. I have grafted scions successfully after 4 months in the fridge, but they are the exception.
@@JSacadura Wow much longer than I expected, that's great to know! Thank you!
I pinched my fig tree last year because I was mad at it for not fruiting and I was feeling mean! Sure enough, many figlets this year.
Thank you for sharing all your knowledge
My pleasure! Thanks for the comment.
