Well this is all well and good, but I just do gaming with my Quest 3. i don't spend hours on end doing other stuff with a VR headset on. That is why I have a large HD TV connected via HDMI to do my daily other computer things if needed. But I don't do allot of that either. You may like wearing a VR headset all day long, but I sure don't. And no way I would spend 3500 dollars for an Apple VR headset. I don't even have any Apple products - they are too restrictive on what they work with. Take care.

I bought quest 2 like a week ago. I thought having your custom home with custom paintings, models etc is like first thing you want to have in VR. Go in any app through your virtual houes. Why didn't they still made such an app? But now knowing that there WAS such and app and they.....DELETED IT???? I can not comprehend it. I can not believe it. Like....wtf???? How it can be.

This is not limited to incoming calls from Android devices. You can’t receive phone calls (not FaceTime calls) from iPhones, either. My daughter called me while I was using the Vision Pro, and I had to use the speaker on my iPhone to talk to her. Hopefully Apple will address this in a future version of VisionOS.

Great video! I have a Quest 2 and dabbled with 3 a few times but I enjoy my AVP way more. AVP is my MacBook in a headset and has replaced two of mine. I’m extremely productive doing my work thanks to the screens and Apple keyboard sync to type. As a bonus I can watch content on apps. Even w/o official KZread app, Juno is better since it’s KZread w/o ads. Quest was cool for gaming but that faded away in a short time. The Netflix app was cool since it was the first of its kind but it hadn’t been updated in years and KZread’s 360 video library is limited. AVP is too but they’ll def add more. The loneliness part feels mute because most people don’t have it. 99% of us don’t use Quest to collab for work in the rooms for meetings. Realistically, most people not watching stuff together in big screen either. Quest feels like the headset you buy for your kids. AVP is what you have as a professional

I feel like meta hit a home run with the VR apps and games experience on quest right from the start. They did super well with that, however they just need to work on improving the devices overall software experience. Quest 3 is much more advanced then quest 1 was and the software still feels the same as it was then give or take a couple small changes. It’s so awesome to hear Bozworth actually confirm it’s their goal and something they are already working on.

All depends what kind multi-tasking you want to do. I use the remote desktop app and open Instagram or FB app or X on the meta browser on either side of the screen. But if you want to be productive and consume media at the same time best way to go is Immersive. Big screen on front for productivity and on the sides whatever else you want to do.

It is said that an educated consumer makes for the best customer. I have been wanting to venture into the VR space for a few years but after researching, I came to the conclusion that the technology was still in its infancy and more of a novel, gimmicky item. I didn't regard it as entertainment because I became tired quickly of its restrictive properties. I found it hard to justify spending on a novelty item that wouldn't nor couldn't maintain my attention or interest. Now with the advancement of the Apple Vision and the quest 3, I felt that there was enough use and value that could be gained by investing my time and money. After a trial of first the Apple, then the Meta, I decided that for the uses and the level of technology being offered that the Meta Q3 was the more rational choice for me. I am only loyal to myself and what benefits me more. I decided that if I were to buy the Apple Vision, I would be sending a message that it is ok to charge me an exorbitant amount for a product that is already obsolete. Realistically speaking Meta could release a Quest pro 2 with a few upgrades like increased resolution and rivaling functions that only entail software modifications and charge under a thousand and the Apple would become unnecessary overnight. The confident response from Mr Zuckerberg signals to me that they are well aware of that. In one quick stroke, they could take a large bite of apples piece of the pie.

Almost all his points were at the very least arguably true. Which considering the price difference is remarkable. Even though he was doing a flat-out comparison and not comparing values, he incidentally made a very good case for the value of the quest. This will absolutely get people who want the vision to consider the quest. I think the video was a definite win for the quest. Also just watched Brownlees podcast and all four of them agreed the meta was brighter. You concede that the vision pro is dimmer with pass-through, but isn't that the main screen people will be looking at? Also they agreed that the quest was more comfortable except for one of them. But someone brought up the point you can 3D print the vision strap to fit on the quest and apparently this is the ideal comfort setup according to them. What you say about Fanboys I agree was probably the wrong approach. But also I think it's true lol. All that said I think this is a very good video and your production quality is excellent. I just don't necessarily see Marks video in as negative of the light as you did. I also think he came off relatively normal here compared to other times we've seen mark which I think is kind of refreshing. You ask at the end if you feel Mark should have made this attack video, but I felt it was more of a defense of the quest. He did concede some points in the vision pro's favor as well which is unexpected to see from a CEO of a competitor.

I do not understand many of your statements, an example: "Doing anything else than gaming on Quest 3 is going to have its challenges." Have you tried watching movies on Quest 3? There are no challenges at all with watching 3D movies, which Apple Vision Pro would not have (ex. weight, eye strain). If the head strap does not fit you, then go and buy a third party one. Problem solved!

He just told the truth to be honest as the Apple Vision Pro is not good for musicians and Meta introduced Mixed Reality on the Quest 2 years ago bro but just with a black and white pass through and I use my Quest 3 for Music Production as it has tons of music production software and Virtual Instruments and also Mixed Reality instruments also sonincan just load up drums anywhere or a piano or a steelpan etc and then I could play the instrument live and record the audio straight back into Logic Pro X through my soundcard and I can also make full songs on it but I can do that with the Vision Pro as it has no headphone jack and Apple makes a industry standard Music DAW that is used in nearly every major recording studio so why was their no Mixed Reality Version of logic pro x and as a regular Apple user as I have 2 Mac a iPad and the magic trackpad 2 and several other accessories and I am extremely disappointed and eye tracking is OK as I have it on the Playstation VR2 and all headsets use the same eye tracking from a company called Toby and he is right as Meta alwaysbadds features all of the time nearly every month and I thinknits going to be hard for apple to compete with such a high price and certain features missing like headphone jack no WIFI 6E or no KZread VR app no Netflix and Meta are going to introduce several features that Apple need to be worried about like Augments where they are going to integrate the worlds most popular apps Instagram, WhatsApp Facebook and Threads and they are looking to have screen where you can place anywhere and get live feeds from the apps and also they will have digital objects that can interact with each other so its going to be like having a home I side your headset lool and they also will have a wrist band that can track individual fingers which is going to be revolutionary trust me I've been using VR Headsets since 2017 and I have been using apple products since 1992 so I do know abit about what I am talking about

The thing that really gets me is, “the Quest is better for the vast majority of things that people use mixed reality for”. By that of course he means gaming. The reason that people mainly use these headsets for gaming is because Meta established them as gaming devices. They’re not very good at doing anything else. It’a self fulfilling prophecy because if you’re not a gamer then you have zero reasons to buy that product. The Vision Pro has other practical applications in mind beyond being primarily gaming devices. People are buying these devices for reasons other than VR/AR gaming experiences.

I only tried the meta quest official browser from the quest itself. I'm going to do address a follow-up comment about using the remote app with the MacBook Pro. In the video, I used Safari but Chrome gets much better results apparently.

THANK YOU FOR THIS!! As a Quest user I feel like people are being so dishonest about it for the sake of saying oh yeah quest is “so much better for the price”. You get what you pay for, it’s cool, it’s a game console, it’s a Wii strapped to your face. But it is not a spatial computer! This wouldn’t be an issue if meta wasn’t trying to push that so hard now in response to AVP. They pushed gaming prior to that. That’s what they need to stick to OR hire a better UI team and pray to god Google lets them into the play store, but looks like Samsung has that in the bag.

So far, any of the productivity apps I’ve tried to use are not showing me my MacBook screen. I just get a black rectangle with a spinning arrow. From what i have read so far, perhaps this has to do with the speed of my WiFi connection or permissions on my local network. I will try to check all that to see if there’s something not right. It seems unlikely because I’m on a high-speed mesh Wi-Fi set up at home. It should work and I’m using a very fast MacBook Pro.

That is what I do not understand. He keeps saying that he uses the Meta browser app. I do not have the slightest idea what he is talking about. If you use Immersed, You should be able to open a Chrome or Firefox browser and tab over to a new window. I’m not even sure that he knows what he is talking about.

What he is saying that these websites have DRM protected content. Therefore, they do not allow you to play videos transferred to another device (a.k.a. Quest 3). For instance, I have 5 screens on my Immersed. I have MS Word on one screen. I also have WhatsApp on the other screen, and stocks on the other screen. On the top screen, I have Netflix. Without my headset and looking directly at my physical monitor, I can see Netflix playing my movie. When I put on the Quest headset with Immersed, Netflix shows a black screen, even though I can hear the audio. To overcome that, all you have to do is use an internet browser that allows you to watch DRM protected content. Using Chrome or Edge will give you a black screen. So try others.

@@damnbrosky I used virtual desktop. My only problem with it is that you are stuck with just one window. Now, can you can tile different apps on that one virtual screen, but it is not the same as having separate screens where you can turn around or allocate them in any part of your environment. But, if it works for you, more power to you.

THANK YOU FOR THIS!! As a Quest user I feel like people are being so dishonest about it for the sake of saying oh yeah quest is “so much better for the price”. You get what you pay for, it’s cool, it’s a game console, it’s a Wii strapped to your face. But it is not a spatial computer! This wouldn’t be an issue if meta wasn’t trying to push that so hard now in response to AVP. They pushed gaming prior to that. That’s what they need to stick to OR hire a better UI team and pray to god Google lets them into the play store, but looks like Samsung has that in the bag.

What kind of issues are you having bringing in MBP? I'm currently in Immersed right now typing my response with my MB Air.
So far, any of the productivity apps I’ve tried to use are not showing me my MacBook screen. I just get a black rectangle with a spinning arrow. From what i have read so far, perhaps this has to do with the speed of my WiFi connection or permissions on my local network. I will try to check all that to see if there’s something not right. It seems unlikely because I’m on a high-speed mesh Wi-Fi set up at home. It should work and I’m using a very fast MacBook Pro.
@@ThomasBricker try updating the client on the MacBook. Start with Workrooms. See if that works.

That is what I do not understand. He keeps saying that he uses the Meta browser app. I do not have the slightest idea what he is talking about. If you use Immersed, You should be able to open a Chrome or Firefox browser and tab over to a new window. I’m not even sure that he knows what he is talking about.
What he is saying that these websites have DRM protected content. Therefore, they do not allow you to play videos transferred to another device (a.k.a. Quest 3). For instance, I have 5 screens on my Immersed. I have MS Word on one screen. I also have WhatsApp on the other screen, and stocks on the other screen. On the top screen, I have Netflix. Without my headset and looking directly at my physical monitor, I can see Netflix playing my movie. When I put on the Quest headset with Immersed, Netflix shows a black screen, even though I can hear the audio. To overcome that, all you have to do is use an internet browser that allows you to watch DRM protected content. Using Chrome or Edge will give you a black screen. So try others.
@@cupofjoegamer What about virtual desktop, I can open screen big as my whole field of view and many windows in coz is huge, And yes I can open firefox with playing netflix or amazon prime there without any problems.
@@damnbrosky I used virtual desktop. My only problem with it is that you are stuck with just one window. Now, can you can tile different apps on that one virtual screen, but it is not the same as having separate screens where you can turn around or allocate them in any part of your environment. But, if it works for you, more power to you.
