For real just realized my Oculus Home was missing a few days ago... I haven't used my Rift S in ages, really since I got my Quest 2 and at release the Quest 3, and Have been using Virtual Desktop to connect to my PC for steam VR rather than Airlink, because I never bought any games in the Oculus pcvr store. Feels so arbitrary to remove it. I would have been content if they just let me download my home, and use peer to peer connections for inviting friends into that space. Just quiet eviction and suddenly becoming 'oculus homeless' feels kinda wrong.

I bought quest 2 like a week ago. I thought having your custom home with custom paintings, models etc is like first thing you want to have in VR. Go in any app through your virtual houes. Why didn't they still made such an app? But now knowing that there WAS such and app and they.....DELETED IT???? I can not comprehend it. I can not believe it. Like....wtf???? How it can be.

really well done video and even better said. just got into vr with the quest 2 and was impressed with the native immersion. I was expecting a similar experience on the PC and was disappointed/confused to see that the home environment was a blank space that lacked details that the quest 2 home had. They basically handed me (and probably many others) over to Steam for any PC interactions

This is just the latest example of a crappy trend in gaming recently. When everything moves onto online marketplaces and servers, you're at the whim of a company keeping it going. Eventually when there's no more money to be had, and enough people have moved on that they think there won't be an outcry, they'll kill whatever it is. Considering how many games these days can't even be played single player without an internet connection, this should be concerning to ALL gamers. I'm not an Oculus user so I haven't experienced Homes personally, but it looks awesome. I'm hoping Sony does something similar with an updated Playstation Home app for PSVR 2 that could include private spaces (or even do it as a home screen when you boot up the console in VR!). When it comes to these private spaces, there's really no reason why they couldn't be stored locally, and when the company is ready to move on and shut down the servers, a peer to peer connection option could be created. It would require a bit of extra investment, but in this day and age I think the first company that shows they're consistently willing to go the extra mile for their fans could reap massive rewards of loyalty.

Everyone in VR is optimistic about Sony doing something with Playstation Home. I can't WAIT to see what they reveal during the Showcase. I wouldn't be surprised if we get some HOME news mixed in. Also, thanks for letting me know about the error!

Bro, I just upgraded my pc to jump back into VR again and they made me homeless. I even took the time to make a 360 target boxing area for a small work out and fun!
