I tried bigscreen in quest 2 and the videos on youtube that included in bigscreen is like runingbon 30fps.. I tried 4k 60 video demo on youtube the one that has a green snake on the background video and i have noticed the 4k 60fps or even 720p 60fps runs like 30 fps. .

Sometimes I come across a channel and I'm like damn, there's no way this sub count aligns with the content. To that end I'm of the opinion you'll be one of the top tech / VR KZreadrs by end of the year.

I feel like meta hit a home run with the VR apps and games experience on quest right from the start. They did super well with that, however they just need to work on improving the devices overall software experience. Quest 3 is much more advanced then quest 1 was and the software still feels the same as it was then give or take a couple small changes. It’s so awesome to hear Bozworth actually confirm it’s their goal and something they are already working on.

do I hear it right, did you try even once virtual desktop or meta link, you can open any streaming you have on your computer

The program Immersed will do what you want with the Quest 3

All depends what kind multi-tasking you want to do. I use the remote desktop app and open Instagram or FB app or X on the meta browser on either side of the screen. But if you want to be productive and consume media at the same time best way to go is Immersive. Big screen on front for productivity and on the sides whatever else you want to do.

You have the option to do both flat and curved display when you change the distance.

I only tried the meta quest official browser from the quest itself. I'm going to do address a follow-up comment about using the remote app with the MacBook Pro. In the video, I used Safari but Chrome gets much better results apparently.

NBA wouldn't work on your PC browser inside of Immersed?

That is what I do not understand. He keeps saying that he uses the Meta browser app. I do not have the slightest idea what he is talking about. If you use Immersed, You should be able to open a Chrome or Firefox browser and tab over to a new window. I’m not even sure that he knows what he is talking about.

What he is saying that these websites have DRM protected content. Therefore, they do not allow you to play videos transferred to another device (a.k.a. Quest 3). For instance, I have 5 screens on my Immersed. I have MS Word on one screen. I also have WhatsApp on the other screen, and stocks on the other screen. On the top screen, I have Netflix. Without my headset and looking directly at my physical monitor, I can see Netflix playing my movie. When I put on the Quest headset with Immersed, Netflix shows a black screen, even though I can hear the audio. To overcome that, all you have to do is use an internet browser that allows you to watch DRM protected content. Using Chrome or Edge will give you a black screen. So try others.

@@cupofjoegamer What about virtual desktop, I can open screen big as my whole field of view and many windows in coz is huge, And yes I can open firefox with playing netflix or amazon prime there without any problems.

@@damnbrosky I used virtual desktop. My only problem with it is that you are stuck with just one window. Now, can you can tile different apps on that one virtual screen, but it is not the same as having separate screens where you can turn around or allocate them in any part of your environment. But, if it works for you, more power to you.

Thanks for this comparison. Well done. Now if I can just get Immersed and all the others to actually connect to my MacBook Pro, I will be in business. 😅

So far, any of the productivity apps I’ve tried to use are not showing me my MacBook screen. I just get a black rectangle with a spinning arrow. From what i have read so far, perhaps this has to do with the speed of my WiFi connection or permissions on my local network. I will try to check all that to see if there’s something not right. It seems unlikely because I’m on a high-speed mesh Wi-Fi set up at home. It should work and I’m using a very fast MacBook Pro.

THANK YOU FOR THIS!! As a Quest user I feel like people are being so dishonest about it for the sake of saying oh yeah quest is “so much better for the price”. You get what you pay for, it’s cool, it’s a game console, it’s a Wii strapped to your face. But it is not a spatial computer! This wouldn’t be an issue if meta wasn’t trying to push that so hard now in response to AVP. They pushed gaming prior to that. That’s what they need to stick to OR hire a better UI team and pray to god Google lets them into the play store, but looks like Samsung has that in the bag.

If you were in one of the many “Remote Desktop” apps, why didn’t you just stream the game in that browser?

That works, but you still might not be able to see the game. A lot of streaming services have DRM protections that prevent streaming to another device.

@@malachigruenhagen2453You are 100% correct. I tried watching Netflix and Prime with Immersed on a separate tab, and it showed a black screen. Therefore, I downloaded another browser that allowed me to watch DRM protected content. I was using Chrome, beforehand.

Meta since their massive layoffs, updates will come much slower, They also seem to be focusing on their new product connecting glasses to AI. I love my Quest 3 and I'm going to keep it, I won't pay $3500 for the AVP. but if a competitor like HUAWEI releases a headset that rivals the AVP at half the price. I would tend to abandon Meta for the competition. With the Quest 2 we had updates two or even three times a month but since the layoffs an update can take up to 1 year. Another point, in the long term Apple will beat Meta on the power of these headsets, Meta is a company that buys parts to reassemble them and create products with them, they invent nothing.

I love how the killer feature of these things is just "displaying a screen". WOW, THAT IS AMAZING NEW TECHNOLOGY AND SUCH AN INNOVATIVE WAY TO DO COMPUTING! :D :D :D :D Hahahahahaha

Well this is all well and good, but I just do gaming with my Quest 3. i don't spend hours on end doing other stuff with a VR headset on. That is why I have a large HD TV connected via HDMI to do my daily other computer things if needed. But I don't do allot of that either. You may like wearing a VR headset all day long, but I sure don't. And no way I would spend 3500 dollars for an Apple VR headset. I don't even have any Apple products - they are too restrictive on what they work with. Take care.

Looks like Meta is becoming another Microsoft😂 loaded potentially cool features, but they are filled with bugs or completely unusable. Complain all you want about Apples time to market for products, but dang do they usually get it right!

Apple will have a more obtainable affordable vision device soon, Quest will probably never nail the UI/UX like apple has.
