THE FIRST HOUR on The Last Worker. Is it worth continuing?

Ойын-сауық

I played the heavy narrative-based The Last Worker on the Meta Quest 2. With so many games competing for your attention, is this game about the last human worker in a mega warehouse in the future worth more than an hour?

Ain't no way I'm coming home from work, turning on my VR headset, then going right back to work.

    But it’s work in VR!

Everything I've heart and seen of The Last Worker gives me the impression of a mid-tier at best game. The reviews I've seen agreed that the only enjoyable part is the package delivery tasks, as the later puzzles basically tell you exactly what to do, and the narrative takes a dive after the second hour. The issues you had with the controls are somewhat interesting. I'm a big fan of when games design the virtual controls of devices to mimic the layout of your actual controllers (Blair Witch on PSVR is a great example of this), as it makes controlling devices/vehicles much more intuitive. Sounds like this game would've benefitted from going that route. That, or they could've just put in some better tutorials 😂

This is one of those games that you have to be in the right frame of mind to enjoy. I fell asleep on it the first night. Went in midday the second time with a focus on giving it a fair shake, and the impressions video is pretty much the sum of it. Gamertag VR didn't really enjoy it. PSVR without Parole really liked it. It's polished. Made me wish more Quest games looked like it. I'm willing to give it another hour, see how I feel then. Right now? I'm curious. Sidebar: Which type of impression videos would you like to see more of? Did you like the 1 minute stuff that I did in the SHORTS, or would you prefer this more traditional style? Love to hear your thoughts!

@@ShoFuturistic Yeah they picked an art style that worked well within the capabilities of the team and the constraints of the Quest 2 hardware, which is something more indie developers should really do. Nothing looks worse than a game that was trying to look realistic but couldn't pull it off. In terms of videos I prefer the longer traditional ones, but I could see shorts doing better numbers, and I'm fine with them. Maybe the best option would be a healthy mix of both? Some topics could be covered in a minute, while others require a longer runtime to really get into the meat of an issue or topic.
