I find the "hull" rules to be so asinine and childish. You're telling me you can destroy a Rhino because you can see a candle flame? Or a radio operator because you can see the antenna? You know what modeling for advantage means to me? It means I can use the very top of my Triumph or the very top of the Exorcist to see with. How stupid is that? And then Angle Shooting? You better believe we're in a war, so I'm not going to "play fair" if it means using your ignorance to my advantage. Is that the kind of gameplay you want, GW? How in the world is an Infantry keyword model supposed to charge A FRIGGIN AIRPLANE?! The little 5" stick is a grace provided so i don't have to hold my flying things above the buildings. COME ON! How stupid and childish these rules are...

My advice for using land raider is to put other tanks in front of it to block line of sight to prevent it from being shot. This way you can get into position to unload your space marines in the enemy’s face.

Or they do make sense because it's a game. If it makes no sense to you then that just shows your lack of imagination. Callidus assassins are saboteurs so maybe they're assigned some sort of chemical weapon that hampers the natural cell regrowth of tyranids that would normally be catalysed by their leaders.

I was never into wh 40k but..... really? shouldn't there be a book on these things that tell you how high some things are? you're never going to get consistency in the analog world, it's only fair if you write it down and make it the same for everyone. Would it be so hard for the vehicle to have like a table on the back of the box that says how hight it flies and such?

so, I magnetize my flight stands, am I cruising for a red card? If I used correctly, you can place it on the flight stand 2 ways and both are acceptable? Or Not? The instructions are poor, as is the ruling and these ridiculous rules interpretations... What if it broke and he glued it between rounds and it then sat higher? Good grief...

If the Silent King gets the Triarch Keyword (I cannot believe he didn't come with it in the codex) and Praetorians come down juuuust a little Obeisance Phalanx will see some serious play. It's got good strats and enhancements.

The lifetime ban is BS because the judge wouldn't wanna admit he didn't know something. Hull measurement is so scuffed for flying and needs thrown in the garbage but then again melee charging a flying unit destroys the immersion altogether.

If the transport has the "dedicated transport" tag then yes, something must start inside or else it dies, if it doesn't have that keyword then it can start empty

Imperial Guard Players don’t stagnate in list building, most top players were just using David Gaylard’s Brainrot Kasrkin/Bullgryn/Manticore spam. Mordian Glory has gone undefeated in a good number of tournaments with everything from Catachan Spam to traditional looking lists to Pure Leman Russ. The issue is that our Detachment is utterly useless with 3 useless enhancements, 4 strats, and a borderline useless detachment ability

I played that list in round 3 and good GOD was it oppressive. I couldn't hold anything he just pressured me off the table the plane circled the board gunning down action monkeys and crippling Warp talon units. The doomsday arcs with immune to modifiers was firing without -1 to hit in combat so I couldn't stop them from deleting me.

How on earth did you pull this off? Lychguard are tough, but they aren't that tough. All they got going for them is the 4++ and the -1 to wound when a noble is leading them if the S of the attack is higher than their toughness

Players model flyers to be banking in flight all the time, or nose down to do a strafing run, I know a guy who put ball joints on flyer bases (and also telescopic bases) to get cool flying poses. These are normal parts of the modelling aspect of the hobby, meaning a given Storm Raven model may vary in position for a number of reasons, both intentional modelling decisions (that have nothing to do with intentional gameplay choices) and just due to variation in the kits as mentioned. This is like ruling that all infantry sized character models that have tactical rocks on their bases are "modeled for advantage" because they can see further or over more stuff. Did this judge red card anyone playing with a model like commander shadowsun that is standing on a big bit of scenery? Clearly an unfair advantage vs a model that's just stood on its base. In this case, judge should have consulted the other rulings, and the tournament circuit should make a *general ruling* as to weather this model's wings are in engagement range or not, regardless of the circumstances of the actual model - i.e. "if the bases of each model are on the same vertical plane, the wings of this miniature in standard configuration are considered to be 5" from the table and thus are inside engagement range" - clear, unambiguous ruling. For example, this ruling could be applied as follows: If the aircraft is hovering over a hill or ruin, and the attacking model is outside of that terrain feature, they're going to be lower on the table, thus outside of engagement range, job done. If they're both "stood" on the table surface, and thus at the same elevation, the model is in engagement range, no matter how it is assembled. no corner cases, everyone knows where they stand. Judge is, absolutely, in the wrong here for failing to be aware of other rulings on the matter, failing to communicate this to the players, and for massively overreacting. The player may have been at fault for poorly communicating his earlier question, and therefore considering this a closed matter, and may have misunderstood the rulings for other events and which - if any - apply, particularly given they are contradictory. There's no reason to believe that one ruling would apply and another wouldn't, since one comes from a more official GW tournament and one comes from an affiliated tournament. Are both valid? One seems more official so may supersede the circuit ruling? The judge is assuming malice in something that could far too easily be the result of ignorance. Finally someone showed off Obeisance Phalanx! It’s far from the best, but 5/6 stratagems being battle tactics gives it some interesting options. It baffles me why they won’t fix the missing “Overlord” and “Triarch” keywords.

i'm not into 40k and idk why this video was recommended to me but from an outsider standpoint i'm thinking that instead of measuring distances *exactly*, they could allow an error margin, as in instead of being "5in" it could be "5in+-0.1in" or something like this
