Thank you Nate for your service
Actually if you have a good one he’s a saviour because everybody loves good food shitty days and with good food and a few shots of rum and beer but cooks the board ships are some of the best and some of the worse but they go overboard just kidding
My uncle was almost killed on a Great Lakes boat 20 years ago during loading operations. I don't know exactly what went wrong but a heavy hook on a crane fell and hit him on the shoulder, cracking his shoulder, collarbone, his upper arm, and two vertebrae in his back. He was in hospital for many weeks, and then rehab, and suffered pain for years. His career on the boats was over. He told me once when having a drink if he had been standing one inch to the left the hook would have hit him on the head and killed him outright.
You almost look like the legendary R&B singer Nick Ashford. God Bless His Soul.🙏🏼🙏🏼
That’s awesome all my god last day of cruise
Nate seems like the life blood of the ship in more ways than one. Liking this concept Joe, be nice to go around the ship and catch real world people doing real world things. Like I’d love to know a Nate backstory, how he got on a ship, was he a chef before? Does he have formal culinary training or was it home grown?
I like how you put the valley camp in the vid
…”modern times. I’m aware women and children don’t go first anymore” Is that true? Do other men out there think this way? I couldn’t take a seat on a lifeboat knowing a child didn’t have a seat b/c of me. Survivors guilt hell for sure, no thank you! I thought that was weird comment, not that it affected my enjoyment of the video. Very cool vid! Looks like fun job.
Great Video 👍
How big was his crew ? Guy loves his job for sure, respect.
Thanks! 👍👍 Be well🌞

Hi Joe, have watched all vlog videos plus some of the others. Great stuff! Going back too your playlist and watch them all.
He's doing a fantastic job, like the crew. However, it would be nice if they upgraded his kitchen.
Ok Ocean Gladiator I was on the Ocean Glory and the Ocean Freedom...
I’m sure it’s not all glamorous but looks like good honest work. Nate seems like a great guy to work with
always wanted to get a job like that it was a dream
Everybody knows the cook is the most important guy on a ship.
This was pretty great
Old Spice. Great videos
Nate making it happen, whilst rocking and rolling. Maritime making the World go round. Cheers from the South Carolina Lowcountry.
13 July 2024 The SAM LAUD is still active on the Great Lakes. It has just been seen on the Stream Time Live camera, @ Marine City, Michigan, upbound to Port Dolomite / Cedarville, Michigan, in Lake Huron, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. @00:47:00+. In another couple of hours it will go through Port Huron, Michigan & be seen on their Port Huron River Cam on the St. Clair River.
I wouldn't care how long it takes to unload - not hard duty, good weather & getting paid. Could be doing much worse things
Depending on your hair: comb or brush. If long enough to need them: hair elastics. Tarred 9 strand works in a pinch
What a great slice of life - thanks!
8:58 One well used Buck 110 folding Hunter knife.
Voyage, cargo & offload port compliments of the US taxpayer
Does anyone wear the traditional Merchant Marine hats anymore or is that entirely a thing of the past?
Excellent content. My parents are from northeast Ohio, so the Great Lakes shipping industry is of great interest to me. Thanks for the inside look, Joe! 👍🏻
12:01 is the best line I've ever heard! Equality people, welcome to the fun zone
The Stewards of ships are like the mess hall or gallery cooks for the military. Those guys are the real heroes !

This is simply amazing. Thanks for the post.
movies = porn
I've been watching cruise videos for a couple of months now with the anticipation building for a couple of cruises I have booked in November. Most of them are fairly similar and make me feel a bit like I'm already cruising. Dude, you're video hit a completely different level. It's absolutely epic. Great work, and kudos on your experience and living life your way!
I jave two friends one went to the merchant marine academy, he has been hugley successful the other he went somewhere to learn, he is part of engineering I know he is making good coin. The pros and cons to any job, you mentioned trucking, I loved driving a truck in the early 90's through the early 2000's, however I ve recently retired after 28 year of driving. I loved being a trucker I just loved the job, until the last 5 years it has become hell. I can see the life of a sailor personally I love the water growing up on the Puget Sound I suppose I could have gone either way, but doing a job your passionate about really makes life easier theres not enough time in a life to be salty about working, personally it wrecks morale when you have to work around anger all the time.
