Your voice is really amazing, before I realized Joe had posted this video, I definitely had listened to the ending of a few videos a few times just to hear you singing. Thanks Greg! This was recorded in the base of the number 2 crane aboard the Liberty Grace. Finding a quiet spot to record on a running ship can be a real challenge.

Joe love your videos they are so interesting. I wonder if you could explain how the anchor works. I know this sounds stupid but I have read it is either the anchor that keeps the ship in place or that it is the weight of the chain. Also what is the water pouring out of holes in the side of the ship doing? Coolant, ballast, sewage? thanks

It's hit and miss. There are a lot of spaces with varying levels of reverb but engine and machinery noise is a problem pretty much everywhere. So trying to get a decent recording means playing LOUD.

Not an original. I believe the original artist was Darcy Broderick. Dead on with the bouzouki. It's a flat back tuned GDAD.

Hey Tom! I'm not sure how the creator of the video has it set up, but rest assured the writer is properly credited on the back end for revenue and copywriting purposes. Spotify and KZread have wierd rules about hyphenation in titles ie (Jeff Hatterban cover) and instead insist on including that all in backend. Sorry for any confusion, hopefully you still enjoy.
