I was the United States Air Force Recruiter for Kauai from 1983 to 1986. My office was in Honolulu. I would visit the island overnight at least once a month.

Kauai is my favorite Hawaiian island. They don’t call it the garden island for nothing. The barking sands beach and the state park are simply amazing. So what if you have to drive through a few miles of sugar cane fields.

Helll yah it is!! I went sky diving off the coast about 10 years ago, so fun! Queens bath is now fenced off, so sad. I jumped in and swam with turtles... also I love Austin TX, f1 races are gr8 there. YELLOW ROSE STRIP CLUB N STYLES BBQ FOR THE WIN!!!! THANK YOU JOOOEEEEEEE!!!

I gotta confess, after watching all of your videos over the last couple of years, I was surprised to find you on a cruise ship when you did your cabin tour a couple of weeks ago. I don't know why I was surprised, but I suppose it's just my misunderstanding of the spectrum of opportunities available to an ABS. All that aside, Great Video showing the beauty of some of the Hawaiian islands. Looking forward to more of these....

Trying the whole spectrum of ships and jobs available to ABs is what I am doing right now. So i can get a feel for things and see what type of work I like the best!

Thx 4 that ...I spent 2 years of my time in the Coast Guard @Sta.Nawiliwili(next to the Matson Terminal...it was always stinky around there when cattle were loading onto the barge 😅)

Joe, you gotta do a video on the differences between workin on a cruise ship vs the other ships you’ve been on. It seems like the rooms are better on container ships and bulk carriers, but I bet the off hours time is better on a cruise ship.

It’s as pretty a place as one can find anywhere! There is a horse shoe shaped formation with a rock in the middle and the currents move you around that rock like your in a washing machine! Is Mark still the harbor master? He maybe retired by now. Thanks for the memory there!

I have been in and out of Nawiliwili 3 times. It always seems like the big ship won't fit through that small opening where they dock.
