Your channel has helped me understand what my youngest son (29 yrs) does for a living. He just bceame a First Engineer and is currently working on certification to work on LNG container ship. He loves his Mariner lifestyle.

I love the mariner lifestyle as well!
Welcome back. You are one gifted narrator. I've always enjoyed your blogging.
I found Joe’s videos last year at a particularly dark time in my life and they really helped distract me from what was happening at the time. Love the videos.
Loved it all Joe. Especially the 16 part series. Really gave a good look into the life of a merchant marine. Looking forward to things to come.
Glad you're back, Joe - missed your videos!
I enjoy your narration the most. Honest, fact and reality filled videos, spoken by a honest hard working guy.
Glad you’re back . Thankyou for sharing the world from a workman’s experience .
Welcome back Joe! If your still out RV’ing and pass through Iowa, look us up as we have a campground and would love to have you!!

Sounds great! Probably making it only as far as South Dakota this year before heading back to sea.
SO nice to have you back - you really are good about this :)
good to see you back, you have some great content about parts of the worlds alot of us would never see
Welcome back. Love your videos. As a firefighter, your profession intrigues me because you have to work as a unit to keep everyone safe.
Good to see you, Joe! Looking forward to more of your great storytelling 🤙🏼
Glad to see you are still working hard. Love the ship tours, esp galley and what you all eat. But the vLOG was great fun. Hello from Willamette Valley Oregon.
Good to see you back Joe. Looking forward to following your next adventure on the high seas.
Good to see you back, now retired from lifeboats so going to sit back and see how the big boys travel. All the best.

I really meant it when I said I am honored to "host" such a great community on this page!
Nice to see you again Joe look forward to the next film....
Thanks for the good work, I love things that everyday people don't get the inside look at. It reminds me of my adventure in government contracting. The training isn't as extensive but I've been to hostile places like Iraq. The major difference on the right contract its tax exempt which makes a huge difference. If I was younger I would consider doing this but I do get seasick but ginger works great for me as a remedy.
Joe, are the captains/shipping companies always cool with you getting footage on their ship or while you are working?
@JoeFranta
Жыл бұрын
I always ask permission from the captain and always follow any guidelines they set.
One of the best channels out on YT. Thank you for what you do! Keep being yourself and creating the content you want to create. You’re great at it!
Thanks Joe. I found your channel when searching for information on Odda via Google. I was a deck cadet on a British ship when I visited Odda - January 1976. We were discharging zinc ore from Botwood Newfoundland. I still remember the beauty of the fjords and the long pilotage. I am looking forward to viewing more of your content. Sadly when I was at sea all I had was an old Kodak Instamatic camera - photo quality wasn't very good, and no chance of getting videos. How wish I had owned a better camera back then. Best years of my working life. Kind regards, David
I’m a former merchant marine/ army veteran and this whole channel is pretty unique and dope! Brings back alot of memories seeing I worked in all 3 departments(deck, engine, steward) the latter mostly
Hey Joe! Love your videos man. You're right: it is a bit of a forgotten profession, and yet the world economy depends so much on what you do. Love seeing what it's like. good job man, and thanks for letting some of us live vicariously through your adventures. Good luck!
I’m glad you’re back. Looking forward to seeing season 3. You make fantastic videos
Fantastic. Really looking forward to the new videos.
Enjoy all your posts. Even have my wife watching now. Thanks
Great to have you back Joe. You have a story telling personality that keeps me interested in your videos. Great job and thank you!

Been a while! Glad you’re back.
Good to see you back, Joe!! I hadn't seen anything either here or on your RV channel so I was wonder where you had fetched off to... I really enjoy these videos; they feed my "if only I had..." vibe, so looking forward to seeing more of them!!
Great to see you back. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for sharing this channel with us. It’s quite interesting and your presentation style ties elements together nicely. As a resident of NE Ohio, your video of Cuyahoga River caught my eye and now I’ve subscribed et al. Here in Cleveland we have the William G. Mather freighter as a floating museum, offering some idea of your ships. Wishing you a blessed, smooth seas and seasonally appropriate weather. Peace brother
I just discovered your channel. I am from the upper Ohio Valley and once had a detailed discussion with a river barge crewman. As a result I realize how different things are on the water and look forward to hearing it from you.
Thank you for sharing your life onboard. My grandfather joined the Royal Navy in 1898 as a gunner and sailed the world defending the British Empire. Probably because of him, I feel the pull of the sea and regret having never sailed. I’m now in my 50’s and frequently cruise. So I especially enjoyed the video from your 2 months onboard the Hawaiian cruise ship. I also really enjoy the container ship vlogs as it’s not something I’ve ever experienced. I do intend to book passage as a passenger on a container ship in the future. Thank you for allowing a land locked sea dog to vicariously experience ship life through your videos.
Thank you Joe. I'm reliving my time spent sailing- SIU through your video's. You are spot on on how life as Merchant sailed is.

So glad to see you back! Looking forward to more videos!
Hey Joe! Glad to see your new post. You've taught me a lot about the life of a merchant mariner. I'd be green and hanging over the side before we left port. Here's a question... how did you start your hobby of making videos? You really have the talent to make great shots and to explain the going-ons on a ship.

I love your channel because you really show what it is like to work on a ship. I can't explain it, I have nothing to do with ships or the sea I just find it fascinating and an escape from my real life that brings me peace so thank you for giving me that, means more than you think
Glad to see you're doing well Joe! cant wait for a new video, thanks for the update! subbed to both channels, love your stuff!

What ratings have you gotten so far Joe? My pops was a merchant mariner for 30 years and he used to give me tours of the oilers that he was on! I was a Bosun Mate in the Navy and I almost went civilian after I got out and I remember the CG rating exams. Thanks for your video's!
Welcome back! Looking forward to your next assignment!

Looking forward to the next/new year of your adventures! I'm from Long Beach, CA (there's the port of Los Angeles) and it's like a city within a city with all the activity. I always enjoy driving through it and see the containers and ships. I'd love to hear your commentary (or video) on your favorite and least favorite ports. Take care and safe travels.
