You should watch the sailing Brothers they are really good
I always dreamed of sailing the seas as a kid. At this point in my life I know that dream is not likely to come true. Watching your videos kind of takes me out there in a way. They are very well done and I look forward to the next after each one. Keep up the good work Joe!

I’m like you my friend,I wish my life took a different course and I would’ve followed this life at sea. My father was in the Merchant Marines during WWII and he cherished every moment.
I'm glad I was a captain for 25 yrs
I follow a lot of KZreadrs, but there are only few whose videos I watch as soon as they're uploaded. Your channel has quickly become one of those. I love following your adventures on the high seas.

Man a bit of roll is the BEST sleeping ever. I miss that.
Well them days is long gone but I did put in a many hours bunkering started off at the ports eventually ended up getting on ships and Tugs & barges offloading anywhere from asphalt jet fuel diesel for the Navy and bunkering some cargo ships as well as tankers offloading discharging their tanks to oil companies at the same time fueling the ship many hours I can still smell that bunker back in the '80s a lot of your foreign ships wasn't that clean They would send hoses back down to you without blanks on them therefore it would let some drip in the water nowadays it would be fine by the Coast guard back then they got away with it no when we were hooking lines and risers it wasn't that many people two to three well if you had somebody working the boom knew what they were doing four and six inch lines weren't that hard but appreciate your video brought back many memories when I started off at a Port Everglades company was Belcher oil which then turned into coastal oil I don't know what they are now but I went from being a doc hand to a deck hand on a tug working myself all the way up in the wheelhouse to a captain have safe travels good memories 💪🏻⚓🛳️🦺🔧⛓️👊
You're a natural story teller. Please keep it up!
I have no idea why I’m finding this series so interesting. Thank you for sharing these.
Thank you Joe for sharing your journey with us. You definitely have the right mix of elements in your videos to make them entertaining and informative. After working 43 years in the airline industry it's always interesting to see how other travel industries work. Thanks again for sharing and keep on traveling.
My man getting caught up on D&D lore? I love it!
Always enjoy your stuff Joe! Safe on!
Good stuff, brother. I spent 20 years as a US Navy Boiler Tech on 6 different ships from 1978-1998. Your videos help an old sailor remember the good old days
Keep it going Joe. Another great video. I'm to old for your job, so I'm living it through you.
@ 7:21 I'm part of the fabrication process of that type of heavy structural steel you see on the left side of the screen. I work at a small (50 people, family owned, union) steel yard in Massachusetts where we do a lot of Navy stuff. We also produce large drive train components to include our current job for a future aircraft carrier. Cool stuff. Really like the vids. Thx.
The Canary Islands are one of our favorite holiday destinations but yours is a very different approach. Interesting to see it like that!
Hey Joe! been a subscriber for a while now but had to hit the notification button finally! So cool that you're sharing your workplace with us. I love the technical side, but am also fascinated by banalities like the head and galley. You show us both, like a PBS show of the golden era. You're the Norm Abrams of the sea!
Ascension Island, awesome, not a destination that comes up often. Looking forward tonthat video.
Love your video's man, I work at sea in Scotland, you gotta wear a harness when your working on the top of those cranes man seriously, don't give your life for the company stay safe 🕺

agreed maybe joe will do crew interviews
Some of the best times of my young adult life was at sea. I sailed on shell VLCCs plying between Europe, the Gulf and Far East, Singapore, Japan etc….Six month on, one month off, then a new ship, sometimes reacquainted with crew you had sailed with before…I had a great time, great memories of over fifties years ago…..
What an interesting and exotic series of ports for this contract. Enjoyed the video and your music choices.
Shared to my goddaughter working inland tankers around Europe based Holland 😊
Watching those waves crashing up and over the deck of a fully loaded ship is awesome. Thanks for catching those images. I've been in 25 foot waves once on an older Holland America ship, heading between the boot of Sicily and the mainland and your video shows me what it probably looked like outside. I know the wind was so strong we could not stand in the front passenger area unless we held on with both hands (they eventually closed all the outdoor areas). One third of the crew never made it to the dinner service that evening they were so sick from the rocking, and neither did half the passengers.
Your videos are so well done, Joe. Thank you.
The sound at 7:15 when the big hatches are closing is so cool. Made me think of Jurassic Park 2 with the T-rex.
I am absolutely petrified of large bodies of water so I close my eyes when you show the ocean. I’m mostly listening because your videos are fascinating.
I really like your videos. Love the narration!
What a cool cruise… You are taking us to some of the most interesting places on Earth.
Hi Joe I love watching your videos something different ,,,This was my dream when I was 18 years old but it never happened it’s called life😢 cheers from Australia ❤️🙏😃👍🦘🇦🇺🇺🇸☘️☘️🕊️
Great vlog as always! What an awesome destination. The brits and some sea birds are the only thing there I think. It is a fuel stop for personel flying to/from the Falklands. Keep up the good work. Be safe!
If you 'like' the video....! Now, I laugh whenever I hear you say that. Who couldn`t like these great videos? Thanks, Joe. Some more great cargo ship content.
thankGooDness for tuesdaYz &joeFranta content! that tide looked like it was really rocking, that's a gr8 sleep trick. [some tanLine you picked up!] kinda sad see'N part of theCrew leave, maybe it's your video, narration & music, or you are simpLy a terrific storyteller! blessing'Z aLLover your piLgriMage... uGottaNun onYouRside!
Dude, these are how I would imagine it’s like sitting in a bar listening to you spin these yarns! Cheers Joe🍻. Much love from NC. If you are ever down through eastern NC traveling in your RV, hmu, I have plenty of space for you to camp out at. 🤙
thanks for keeping our story of merchant marines story 💪 what we do for a living.. you need some bungie cords to keep your stuff anchored down lol no safety rails on the bunk
Another great video Joe. Sailed on a bulker similar to the one you are on. Main cargo was logs from Vancouver island to the Australian coast. Sometimes to Japan. Japan was amazing. Plenty ports ,tons of time ashore. It's no wonder I went home skint lol. If you google MV Harfleur images, there's a few pics of her.
It was cool when I realised you were dropping off aggregates at Ascension for the runway reconstruction. Not involved but wondered where all the aggregate came from, Canada, of course!
"Everything found a home and its good where it is". What a great example of accepting what is......
Can't wait for the next one!
Enjoying the series Joe. Stay safe shipmate!
The part about crew change is so on point. It makes the time you have onboard with people special, because you know you will probably never have the privelege again. And when jou do it is euphoric in a way.
Love your channel Joe!
Yes 👍
Hi Joe,looked looked like a fair passage to Canary Ils,I,ve actually holidayed there at Las Palmas nice people nice place, enjoy your channel very much, hope you have a safe sail to Acencion Ilands, take care till next time

I liked it when you said you enjoyed greasing the crane and that it was close as you would get to working on the master the tall ship!

You should include a glossary in the description about what certain terms mean like bunkers and stores

Loving these vlogs. Always interesting. I stopped off at Ascension Island, Wideawake Airfield on my way to & from the Falkland Islands. A very Mars like place. My mate spent a year there and loved it. I look forward to seeing your next vlog.
Great content Joe !
great channel and excellent content
Joe Great work on your videos. I love yours short stories. When I was younger I thought about becoming a sailer but it did not happen so your videos are very interesting for me. Keep up good work and stay safe out there.
I agree. Your videos are very well done. Cheers!
Happy day!
Thank you for taking me along on your trip through life , I could never be a seaman but love watching you
Dude. This is CONTENT. Love it
Enjoy keep up the good work….. I do find it quite interesting !
Awesome channel, videos
Enjoyed this a lot - like I enjoy all your Vlogs.
Did you say destination Ascension Island? I spent a year down there ... absolutely a wonderful place. Can't wait to see your vlog offloading. Note that they don't have a pier, so you'll probably be offloading differently than you've seen almost anywhere else.
Enjoy your vlogs!
I had wondered about that with shipping gravel. Interesting to see. Kind of crazy that a big hatch like that can be made air tight. Hey Joe, would you be willing to share the name of the ship? I’d be interested in following where you’re at on marine traffic
More great storytelling, Joe!
You're doing good work, Franta. Keep it up.
Really enjoying your vids, Joe. Can please make them longer? Thank you for the time and effort- the ride-along is so enjoyable and interesting.
Ascension Island......Badass!
Thanks Joe!!
Joe, when I was at sea we “weighed anchor “. You lifted yours.!!!!
You could do a quick hitch on a tall ship easy. Be careful though you might love it
Greetings Joe, I recently discovered your channel. I like how you manage not to roll when you hit the rack. The USN cruiser I was on back in 68, 69 & 70, had canvas racks that had an aluminum frame with a thin mattress that sat on top of the canvas. No matter how tight you tied the canvas to the aluminum frame, when you climbed into your bunk you still sagged into the center of the bunk. In port that wasn’t too bad but at sea it was a real pain in the butt trying to keep from rolling around. The trick was, when you took on stores you tried to grab a piece of plywood shipping crate. You would then try to finagle this plywood below decks to the damage control (DC) shop to have them cut it to the size of your rack. The other trick was to have enough plywood for someone in the DC shop to use for their own bunk. Now you had a nice firm support for your mattress. The trick then was to lay on your stomach with your feet spread and arms spread so your body wouldn’t roll in rough seas. I loved climbing the masts to rig dress ship lights, heights never bothered me. Being an Electrician’s Mate I would always volunteer to climb the masts and take my camera with me to get photos of the ports we were in. I am really enjoying your videos. I’m from PA, Philly originally now in Chester County. Take care and stay safe.
Love the music..I gotta get out more
Joe is sot cute. I really love his voice. I’m also a sailor. Maybe we can get a coffee in Portland
I can relate to the sunburn!
Watching you from morocco - north africa
Great video Joe!
Muy buenos tus videos , saludos desde pto Aysén sur de chile
Great stuff
Right on. We did the same thing with fire blankets or our floater jackets if your rack didn't have a belt.
Starting at 04:16, I knew what you were thinking, and after mentioning your ancient seafarers, what you were about to say. Great vid. Subscribed!
When the ship rolling I wedge the mattress between the bunk and long chair and jump in and sleep sweet
safety first brother! nice ship.
Ascension? That's an interesting voyage indeed.
been watching few seafarer vlog, got to a see chief engr vlog and bridge officer vlog, then finally seen yours which everything starting make sense know
Beautiful Blue Water It reminds me of the Great Lakes Now.
