    Good video as always Zach. Yes sir I was taught a lot but I learned a lot about cutting trees by doing and of course mistakes. Especially cutting trees off of fences after storms and cutting firewood. You can't help it sometimes getting your saw in the dirt and it doesn't take much for it to dull it. Nice looking job you are doing for your neighbor. God Bless Y'all too. Stay safe out there working especially in the heat.

    I've driven a lot of horses but never owned a mule. Two mules used to called a span of mules. I haven't heard that phrase for many years. What is the reason for the " pigeon wing" blinds used on mules? Do they tip their head back and look over conventional blinds?

  • @zachodom7486
    @zachodom748622 сағат бұрын

    Hello! Yes I have heard of a “span” before as well. So pigeon winged blinders were used on mules mainly because of their peripheral vision is better wider angled than a horse. A mule see around its sides better than a horse can if that makes sense. So, the pigeon winged blinders wrap around the mules eyes better and prevent them from seeing over and/or around the smaller square blinders that’s typically used on a horse. Hope this answers your question. Thank you for the kind words and also for taking time to watch and comment. Take care and do come again, please!

    I've been watching your videos all evening. I sure enjoy them. What a blessing to see the mules work together. My father as a boy, told me of working mules plowing for Tobacco. He was a good man. As I was watching you're mules work it occurred to me that God provided us with all we need. Without the humbleness of these animals none of the hard work that they provided for us would have been possible. All the lessons that Jesus taught us can be applied to training and working horses and mules. Patience, humbleness, kindness, wisdom and long suffering are but a few. You're a good man Zach and may God bless you in all you do. Thanks for sharing this and Jesus with the world.

    It depends on where you are, and what kind of dirt you got as to what kind of clods it will make. There are certain types of dirt that you will not plow it unless it is a little bit wet. And I can promise you one thing… This old man and this pair mules has plowed more with a walking plow than anybody I know. And I used to break 10 acres a year with my team and a walking plow!
