We decided...Why Wait? We are Chris & Megan and we decided why wait till we are retired to travel, see this beautiful country and live the life that we want. Life’s too short as they say. So now we travel in our Grand Design fifth wheel with our 8 year old son, Corbin and two Boston Terriers. Four years ago we sold it all, hit the road as full time RVers and now share videos from our experiences and adventures from all that this great country has to offer!

Can this be installed in an rv that has the shower tub?? I hate the curtains that don’t keep the water in??
I have no idea. Never seen a tub in an rv so to speak. Reach out to the company, sure they could help. 👍🏼
All you gotta do is wash once and let me tell you henry's trophies cool Will saturate any hole any water infiltration done.
The name itself means forever. Try to remove that c*** and you will wish you never put it on. It's okay for emergencies, but unless you plan on replacing your roof in the future, don't use it.
I’ve removed some in the past now. It’s not insanely hard to do. Removing lap sealant sucks too. I’d Rather have a great sealed up roof and a tough day of removing some tape once in a blue moon vs a leaky roof and resealing with lap sealant all the time. Thanks for watching and commenting.
On the road now!! California to Tennessee to Florida and back!!
Safe travels 👍🏼
I have never done a thing to my roof . 14 years no problem
@@lenrookus5000 sweet, you the man! 👍🏼
We sell Lexel...it is simply the BEST product on the market. There is also a product called Through the Roof. Very similar to Lexel except it is a brush on product in quarts and gallon size for use around skylights, vents etc. I have used Through the Roof for sealing house gutter seams and have never had an issue in years.
@@mikenimmick3920 nice! Yeah some people have told me it’s hard to remove but hey that sounds like a bonus to me! Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Great list. Thanks. 🫡
Sure thing Jay. Appreciate you stopping by to watch 👍🏼
Is it safe to plug two power cords together to reach the Rv? I have 50 amp 30’ power cord but if I need a little more what would you recommend? Thank you
They have 50 amp extension cords. I have a 50ft cord and an extra 30 foot extension 50amp cord. Needed about 70 feet in one campground we were at. This is fine to do. 👍🏼
This is a blatant ad for Blu Tech products that is full of distorted ideas. First, never, never, never use the Blu Tech or other filtration system which removes chlorine. The small amount of chlorine in municipal water helps to keep your RV water system purified. Removing chlorine allows bacteria and mold to grow rapidly. Instead use a Brita or other final filter for drinking water if desired. Next the bleach substitute is way more expensive and totally unnecessary. It is by no means clear that the BT chemicals need less soak time or rinse out easier. Dilute bleach works effectively in an hour or so with no need for an overnight soak. Both chemicals need to be drained and rinsed from your RV water system before use.
Very informative and practical advice as always. Thanks! 😊
Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching Ron! 👍🏼👍🏼
So where is the link to retro or what ever the name is of the company you get your rv supplies
RecPro…its in the video description
Yeah, my name is Rj and I would love to find my own RV lot in Colorado in the mountains do you know of any
Sorry, I do not. Never been to that state.
You should really go it’s beautiful
Another great video. I did my roof with EB four years ago, it's holding up great.
That’s great to hear! Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍🏼
Is there any chance of bleach staying in the drops to the low point drains? Should you open the low point drains at the same time as you open the fresh water tank drain? And also open low point drains when you start to flush system with fresh water.
Here’s the new way and safest way to sanitize. Great product 👍🏼 How to PROPERLY SANITIZE Your RV Plumbing System and Fresh Water Tank. STOP USING BLEACH! kzread.info/dash/bejne/nnVpsbp-npC3qJM.html
Good video thank you
Sure thing! Definitely appreciate you stopping by to watch 👍🏼
You can also test the heating element itself same way you’d do the fuses
Those are fuses not heating elements
Hey Chris...great video as usual! 😀 I need to do this AND replace the blank tank too...I overfilled it (don't ask) using the blank tank flush, and something gave way and leaked a fair amount of water...although definitely not all of it. Fortunately, the tank was virtually empty so the leakage was pretty clean! 👍 However, the Coroplast needed replacing anyway so this is a good reason to get it done! Great tips, gonna check out RecPro for the materials.
Awesome! Appreciate you watching. I still need to fix the crack in my grey tank.
Good video. Seems like a good product.
@@martymalone4094 I guess it’s something that has been around for awhile. I’ve just never seen it but it’s a good idea to take the wiggle out of the slides.
Thanks for the review. I enjoy following your channel 🎉.
@@martymalone4094 appreciate that Marty! Always trying to put out good content. 👍🏼
Get the one that will allow you to place it on top of the slide as it can loosen and fall out if placed on the side. In my pusher it would land on my wife’s head. No it’s never happened since I realized this way ahead of that.
My 06’ Beaver Monterey actually came with this system to lock in my kitchen/salon glide. It’s the only way to keep that glide from tipping and slamming while traveling.
I’m not looking forward to resealing our RV, but this vid was full of helpful information. Thanks
@@user-wx9up2vn1n good deal. A lot of it just comes down to proper prep work. Thanks for watching
Anyway you could contact me? I need help!
Looks like a POS camper.
😂😂😂
I'll be honest, at first a seen the video and how long it was and your maintenance list . . I thought it was nuts. But I gave it some time, and man there was a lot of useful helpful tricks you have. One that stuck out to me, was the handles for the black and grey tank valves.. for so long i have to pull and push so hard. I didn't even think to lubricate them up.. Also that siding cleaner is a great idea .
Hey just a heads up this is a really old video of mine and I have since switched to a different product that eliminates most of these and is way better. Boeshield T-9…Chief engineers on my tug boat use this stuff too. Here’s a link to that video. RV PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE Using Boeshield T-9…The Only Product You NEED kzread.info/dash/bejne/dHmkj6yff6fYeco.html Oh and using the Thetford drain valve lube inside your tanks is key as well to keeping those gate valves moving. 👍🏼 Thanks for watching.
Seems like a great product. What is your experience simply using Simple Green as a cleaner??
I’ve tried it a long time ago on the roof. Thought it was ok. Can’t remember the cost. I will say that if you care simple green Environmental Precautions says: Do not allow into open waterways and ground water systems. It’s not exactly a “green” product. I really like ease of this product and its results.
@@WhyWait excellent advice.
I have seen these. And they do work. Just don't over tighten them and blow out a wall or slide by cranking them so much it begins to wreck things.
Right on. I agree it doesn’t take much to keep them tight and take that wiggle out of the slides.
Looks like that slide needs more than a brace... If you have that much movement and you apply that brace, the wall of that rv is going to break. Our rack and pinion slide on our Rockwood has no movement, has never moved from closed position in 10k miles so far. Jus sayin...
A solution looking for a problem.
Talking way too much. Get to the point. Tks for info
Your welcome…I think 🤔
DOES NOT SHIP TO CALIFORNIA
@@micheleymybelly Doesn’t surprise me
I just did this today, with my Coleman mach 15. It took several hours. Had to figure out how get the base board with the split ramp to fit into the opening. Other than that, it wasn't too difficult.
Our 2019 Rockwood Mini Lite came with one of these. The dealership recommended that we not use it as it often caused damage, especially if you forgot to remove it before trying to extend the slide. Our owner's Facebook Group also generally advises against using these. We have never used it.
These came standard on a 2010 Forest River we used to own. I remember these also came with large bright orange warning hang tags stating, “REMOVE BEFORE EXTENDING THE SLIDE”
I’ve heard that from some other people now too. Putting it on our unhitching checklist plus I’ll see the one right by my retract slide buttons. Thanks for watching
You said no rinse but you rinsed
Thanks!
@@TheEmmauswalk appreciate that!! It all adds up and helps in keeping the channel running.
I’ve been using these on my 2015 Solitude and they work great. Great tips on adding to your checklist. We put a label right next to the side switches reminding us to remove the locks before operating the side buttons.
@@Lyle-xy8eq good idea 👍🏼 Has it ever seemed to cause any damage to the walls or anything like that?
Great, another product to help fix the manufacturer's shortcomings.
😂😂😂
Could you use one of these to prop up/support the 5th wheel hitch, once parked, to reduce front end 'jiggle'?
No that’s not what it’s intended for at all.
Those came with slideouts 30 plus years ago. Rack and pinion slides do not need them
2018 GD momentum no frame issue but lippert issuse. We need another choice than lippert maybe if they had competition there tune would change. Everyone has their own issue the dealership you buy from if they don't have quality control then you buy brand new crap rig. We have been camping 24 years and seen it all. So bitch to them all because this crop has been going on since the first camper was made
IMHO I don't think that is a good idea. In the short term it might work as designed, but long term you are putting a load on the wall of the RV and the wood frame of the slideout. I would like to see how the wall of the RV and the slideout wood frame are holding up after maybe a 400 mile trip over various road conditions.
I had these on a hybrid trailer slide. They work great - until it pushes the fascia off the slide. I won't be using them on my coach
Roger that Roger
Isn't it easier to just book a hotel room instead of hauling a bedroom with you across the country?
Isn’t nicer to sleep in your own bed at night and shit in your own toilet knowing how clean it is! 😉
Newer Newmar motorhomes have an auto locking mechanism that locks on each end of their slide outs. The older models had a manual lock that you had to use a tool to lock.
Nice. Makes a lot of sense for class A or C RVs where you would have people possibly sitting on the slide outs while traveling. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏼
So when you're done traveling can you use them outside to keep hot or cold in or out.i would imagine they would leak.
Not sure about that one.
When my Lance 1995 travel trailer was new, I put Eternabond tape on the roof seams where it meets the side walls. Still looks awesome. I originally put it there to prevent black streaks from the walls flexing. Year 2 its holding up great! I used about 40 feet
Nice! That’s always good to hear. It’s good stuff for sure 👍🏼
Milk crates can also be used as a step if in good shape and you're light enough!
How do you place it to ensure that it doesn't punch through a wall if you hit a hard bump or rough roads?
Hey tugboat girl! I work on tugboat boats too! Do you? You really aren’t cranking down that tight on it so it shouldn’t be an issues. Plus placing them where they go should mean that they should be on a stud. 👍🏼
@@WhyWait yeah, that's my van in the parking lot at work.
