Thank you for your videos, sir! Just put a set of these on my 2019 Solitude 377MBS, and noted the interference on the lower hinge with the Lippert solid steps - in my case, switching to a flat head screw on one of the flaps took care of it. I needed both hinges to get the stopping friction I wanted. It looks like you can also adjust the solid step latches themselves left or right to regulate the depth of engagement with the doorframe. I didn't have to move them, but that might also help, if you end up installing both hinges.

2020 Wildwood 28FKV. Factory installed & still working fine. Sometimes would prefer a little less tension because it is too stiff to swing the door without getting out of the trailer.

Our 5ver came with the friction hinge doors. We love them and I often wonder why thats not an industry standard across the board, just from a safety standpoint. An example in the start of the video, you had the multiple clips of the wind catching the door. The one with your wife opening the door from the inside, the wind caught the door and she leaned to catch the door and could’ve easily fell.

Hey Mike. You’re absolutely correct. Here in south Texas it blows like crazy and the wind is a nightmare for our son trying to worry about the door while carrying our old dog up the stairs. I am starting to think newer RVers are more common with these hinges. Definitely appreciate you watching and thanks for the comment. 👍🏼

It’s been over a year, I did both off the get go. Good so far. No issues. My steps don’t have the lock on them

Our fifth wheel came with the friction hinge and it has made a difference in the way the door swings open and my wife likes as it does not close the door on her as she in ascending the stairs. Safe Travels.

We've had the friction hinges on 2 travel trailers. On the first one, after several years it started getting very hard to open and shut, so much so that the screws started pulling out of the frame. It's very difficult to get lube into the hinge. We had to have the hinges replaced. We've had the hinges on our latest trailer for a little over 2 years. It seems to be tightening up as well. I'm trying to stay ahead of the game by using T9 on them, but only time will tell. I think only using one set may the the hot setup.

Out 2018 Keystone Raptor came with them installed. Definitely love them and we have had no problems with them at all. I noticed that you already have the screen defender installed as we do. We are very happy with that too. You may want to consider the LCI Screen Shot. Love that also !!!

My parents 2019 camper has the Lippert Friction Hinges and are very difficult to move. My 2022 are much easier. Would you recommend using the Boeshield or CRC lube on them?

I think only installing one was key for us. I personally use Boeshield on everything especially things like that, seems to lube things up real nice for movement.
