and might i mention you are referring to the white truck as an 04’ but its an 03. you also said the 5.4s have spark plug problems comming out. not the 2v engine. the 2v 5.4 was from 97 to 03 f150 untill they switched to the 3v design in o4 and i would never buy any 3v 5.4 comming from a ford guy. the 2v 5.4 is problably one of the most reliable engines of that era.

@@anthonyhales4192 the white trucks a 2004 F-150 heritage, I'm very sure as I have the title. The 2v engines around here fill the spark plug wells with coolant when the intake leaks so they sit and rust if the customers using water, or they fill with a mud goo mixture if it's coolant. It's very hard to get the spark plugs out since these trucks are going to the 200-300k mile category now. The 3V engine is on our worst engine list, I fully agree the 2V is better by far, but still not as good as the 4.6 or a Tundra, Silverado or Sierra of this same vintage. Body style did change in 04, they kept this body style and called it the "heritage"

@@anthonyhales4192 this one here has 5 lugs, the F-150 7700 trucks had that weird heavy duty suspension and 7 lugs, I have worked on one, but only one. It was in for the coolant leak from the intake actually.

99’ 5.4 here. 200k bought it for 1600$ 7 years ago with 140on it. i’d say it’s the best truck of the era. minimal rust not like chevys and dodges. you don’t see them anymore. you see these 10th gen’s all over every single day.

I have to disagree with your summary dismissal of the V6 engine. My wife has V6 Camry 2005 with 350,000 km on the clock. The engine is quiet, uses a near imperceptible amount of oil between 5000km changes and is certainly powerful enough for ordinary driving (we live in country Australia). Fuel consumption is around 8-10 liters/100km. As for the auto transmission, it changes smoothly and unobtrusively under all loads, enough said. By comparison, the 4 cylinder Toyota engine of that vintage is somewhat lacking in power ("gutless" in Australian vernacular). I have no experience with the manual transmission Camry. In Australia, they are as scarce as the proverbial hen's teeth. Maybe the situation is different in the US. Thanks for the video.

I have the same car in champagne. 93k miles. Got it for $1. It shakes a bit when the ac is on or backing up. Clunk in the rear over bumps. Got a pile of parts I have been slowly replacing. The shake and hard shift worries me.

The purpose of these trucks is they have 90% of the capability of a full size (more in some cases, they can have a 1800 lb payload capacity whereas a lot of Ram 1500's would have under 1500 lb payload). A LOT cheaper than the full size's in the 90's to early 2000's, but not the drawback of having to drive a big truck around. Other compact trucks (late 90's) had 500lb - 1000 lb rating, so it just blew them away, and wouldn't suffer much because of the torque. Add in Car-like handling, just great all around performer. Gas mileage was the biggest issue, automatics were a bit of a slush box. What killed them was, just like all the other compact/mid-size trucks, they kept getting bigger and adding more features, to where they were essentially the same price as a full size, so why not just buy the full size?? My parents still drive my '97 5.2L clubcab with 250k+ miles.

Absolutely nothing wrong with these trucks! If your an experienced mechanic very easy to work and the design just makes more since vs a Chevy in my opinion! And I have never had a trouble with spark plugs shooting out 🤣🤣🤣 I have ran my 5.4s hard and never had any issues with them shooting out or breaking off in the motor…. Not silly designs like the Chevy SS trial blazer fuse box overheating and having to be replaced constantly! Ford is awesome and both 4.6-5.4 2 valves are very reliable if you know how to take care of care of them! Only thing I can say is they burn oil so you have to check the dip stick once a week and make sure you add oil!

Great trucks I’ve had minor issues with mine! I did have to change out the fuel pump eventually and one time I did have to change out two solenoids in my transmission! It was stuck in 3rd gear and I could go into reverse but once me and my buddy changed out the solenoids she was good to go!

Awesome video, my 2002 Camry LE has 324,611 miles, recently it started using a little oil, changed the pcv valve then I figured out it has a minor o-ring leak in cylinder 2 that's why it's burning oil. Need to get that fixed, but still runs amazing, not bad for a car that's about to be considered a classic in a few years😂

Well I can say I’ve owned 3 Ford Expeditions! My first one was a 1997 with a 4.6 triton! Which is very reliable and decent on gas for a V8 real good low in torque! Now when it comes to pulling I have to say the 5.4 2V triton is a beast! I still currently own two 1999 Ford Expeditions! I love the first generation! The 4.6 and 5.4 is night and day difference with power and torque! I think the Expedition pulls and tows a lot better than a F150 around the same year! I got over 300,000 miles on one of my 5.4 and it’s still very strong and responsive! Great trucks!

2003 dodge Durango sxt with the 4.7 and almost 190,000 original engine and transmission. I’ve had custom exhaust on it since 125,000 miles, Flowmaster 50 series, and it has yet to make the back 2 cylinders “too hot.” Also, I manage a pizza joint and I use the Durango for delivery at least 3 days out of my 5 day workweek, so the 4.7 is being ran at least 300 miles a week for work related matters, and the engine has yet to show any signs of significant mechanical wear. It will still shit and git off the line, but I don’t dog it like that cause the Durango is how I make money to feed the family and pay the light bill.

Great video! I gotta say I love my 2006 Toyota Corolla! It’s my first Toyota I’ve ever owned! I do have to disagree about Ford Focus! I’ve owned a 2005 ZX4 which was very reliable 2.0 Duratec engine! I had almost 300,000 miles on mine before I had a wreck! I’ve seen plenty of these first generation Ford Focus have 300,000-400,000 miles on them here in Georgia! Minor repairs like valve cover gaskets! I can say though the motor mounts go bad fast on these Ford Focus! I also owned a 2010 Ford Focus which was also very reliable! Maybe I just take good care of my vehicles! But I would only buy a first generation or second generation Ford Focus after that they were trash! Especially when they started using that dual clutch transmission

Got a 2003 4.3 v6 sonoma a few years ago with 60,000 miles. It belonged to an older gentleman that barely drove and babied it. Easily the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. It’s super duper reliable and while it requires a bit of knowledge of maintenance, most of the fixes are pretty inexpensive and easy. I look at it this way, a new truck is gonna set you around $600 a month even with a big down payment… I put about $1500 year into my sonoma for maintenance and it runs like a tank. Gas mileage is about 22 highway so it certainly could be better, but for a no nonsense truck I’m happy.
