As a Home Depot associate in Hardware- Ryobi and Milwaukee are great. Both owned by TTI. They USUALLY do the edeal where you buy a starter kit (2 or more batteries and charger) for a set price, which is already its own great deal, and you get a free tool. They do this multiple times a year. Now for quality wise- Milwaukee will outperform ryobi hands down. BUT you're paying more for it. Now ryobi- their brushless stuff is GREAT! If you want tools that will last and be good enough, but not break the bank and get easy, cheap batteries that will be supported for a long time- get ryobi. If you wanna spend a little more, or wnat a bit higher quality- buy milwaukee. Kobalt? Never used it but I assume garbage. Now as for Ryob i's non-brushless tools- avoid some of them. Their basic drills will work fine for what they are, but if you want the non brushless sawzall- avoid it. The little lever on the new green ones (the old blue ones don't have this issue I believe) will break a lot of the time. However- the brushless two handed one will last.

I don't do a lot of automotive work. But, my cordless tool of choice is Ridgid. About two months ago, I had to send my brushless hammer drill in for repair, and it cost me nothing. Buy trade I am a low voltage guy. Which means drilling through wood and sheetrock, and using my impact in sheetrock. But I did just get a Ridgid impact wrench four and a half inch angle grinder combo for about $262. And all of the rigid stuff has a lifetime service agreement, and all you need to do is register the stuff, even the batteries.

For lights, I really like the Braun stuff from Harbor Freight (the 390 lumen ones for example). Bought some for my dad along with some generic Odelfi Headlamp lights, and he loves them. I never understood those big, bulky tool-battery powered lights, outside of how cheap they are at garage sales. But it’s just more stuff that there’s better versions of (and still won’t break the bank).

Also you seem to not have any concept of the amp hours on the batteries. The higher the amp hours- the longer they last per charge. You have what looks to be 2 or less AH batteries- also they look to be the older style high output ryobis- which were discontinued last year and replaced with a new model and style. All your tools seem to be used, and the blue ryobi shows that its last gen (before current gen with the green).

On the drills in your review the milwaukee is a M12 and the ryobi is an 18volt. That's the difference, get an M18 and see where the brands stand at that point.

Also the power is greater on that older ryobi drill because its running 18 volt and probably geared differently than the 12 volt milwaukee drill you have. Again- the battery (yellow and black 18v) is ancient- previous gen to last gen (the blue was last gen, yellow and black was before that IIRC) so it will definitely not last- replace it with a modern 18 volt battery and it'll run great, but also I'd just buy a new drill which will be much better than that one. Again- Home Depot currently for their memorial day sale- Buy the starter kit ($99 for two 4AH batteries and one charger) and you get a free tool.
