I was surprised to see the 6.8 V10 on here. That said I've only worked on them in F250s and Excursions so that may be why I've never seen major issues aside from the spark plugs and stuff like that. I had a friend with a 2011 Subaru Outback 2.5, and she got it to 323k miles before she sold it, and supposedly it's still running. I have no idea how she did that but she did. She bought it in 2018 and it already had 200k on it. She didn't do much maintenance either. I had a video on my channel of it a few years ago. No surprise to see the Chrysler 3.6, 2.7, 4.7 or the Ford 4.0 SOHC on here. I've purposely avoided buying vehicles with that engine even though I've had many opportunities to. Was not at ALL surprised to see the 5.4 3v as the number 1, and I'm a big Ford guy. My biggest surprise was that the absolute PILE GM 3.6 V6 that's in the Traverse and stuff wasn't on here. There's not many engines I've heard worse words about than those, minus stuff like the 5.4 3v.

My truck was engine swapped from a inline 6 to a 350. But… it’s a 1985 Chevy C10. It’s a pretty simple and common thing for these old trucks. Y’all take care. 🤠👍🇺🇸

While I agree that the 4.7 is a horrible engine, my dad has an 02 Dakota with 255k on original motor and transmission. My grandfather was the original owner and my dad inherited it so I guess they hit the lottery with that one

I Can't believe you didn't put the Hyundai / Kia 2.4L, I would think that should be number 1. They even have a tsb for the p1326 that pretty much says change the engine😂

If you want a reliable Subaru engine go for the FB-25 4cy. It’s a cast-iron block. Just don’t modify it and keep up with the oil change. And they’re very cheap to fix.

To be honest I don't even see 250,000 mi on a 3.6 Pentastar. Just did the water pump at 238,000 km. Countless things have been going on with it. I don't know how many kilometers 250k miles would be but it seems like a lot. The oil filter housing/ oil cooler had been leaking a little bit for a while. Not very bad. It's not that they're hard to work on. It's the fact of getting everything out of the way to get to something. Once everything is gone and ready to work on seems to go pretty good

I can't believe you put the Volvo B230 engine on this list. I have one with 370,000 miles and it has never had an issue!

I Must have gotten lucky I had a 2012 dodge avenger with 265000 miles on it And all I had to replace was the water pump and oil pressure switch .It ran smooth when I sold it I changed oil every 4,500 miles.

Don't you have a 4.7 ram you work/tow with? Also, if everyone "pushed them off a cliff", what would you be left to work on other than oil changes on Toyota's that supposedly get the best gas mileage. There may be a video "GRUMPY MONKEY 800" that says otherwise...........

I got a Jeep Grand Cherokee "1J4GW58N31C653149" with the 4.7L for $450 bid and it was kinda crazy. Towed a couple things and sold it asap because it had one foot in the junkyard,150k miles. I could see oil getting flung all over somewhere near the cooling fan

I wouldn't make the argument the 4.7 is a great motor but I have 161k on the original power train in my Dakota. I think maybe they last longer in the smaller pickups because they are under less stress.

My father had two F-150s with the Tritons, man they were noisy, one had a very loud phaser tick, had to have the diff rebuilt because the previous owner’s son kept doing burnouts and donuts with it. Shitty motors.
