Stahls made the 360 IQ to address all this but especially applying patches to the Richardson 112 cap. It is a huge mega seller. I cant stand that company but their caps are in spectacular demand.

What is the transfer adhesive you are using? Hoping to use with iron-on patches that don't adhere on their own after using hat-press.

The Stahls rep did a demo on JDS Industries video showing off their 360 press. As you said they really pumped up the lower platen radius to avoid creases and create a better form. After watching your techniques I will certainly build up the lower platen and try to eliminate annoying wrinkles in my sublimation transfers.

  • @thethriftychristian82

I set it at 3.4. I use Design Shop digitizing software. Just play around with different densities to see what works best. The goal is to punch just enough holes in the plastic as not to separate the patch from it.

From my experience, you only need hydrogen peroxide and cornstarch or baking soda. The hydrogen peroxide makes them white again (something to do with (reversing) oxidation), the cornstarch or baking soda is used to make the paste so it will stick to your shoes.

  • @thethriftychristian82

I use tweezers and remove the plastic. The patch is flimsy unless you digitize a fill stitch with about the desity of a grid or use a cotton buckram stabilizer found at Joann's made by Pellon. Follow up questions welcome😁
