Thinking about going this route because $30/ garment for one small logo isnt doing it for me especially when it takes 2 weeks for turnaround. Might have to just do patches instead from now on

Have you tried using leatherette patches with this machine? Also, have you used Richardson 112 hats? If so, what were the results?

@@Healthfitmeals I ended up getting a hand crank sew machine and it works really good for the leatherette patches. I didn't end up trying this machine

Is there any plastic being the patch thats melts when you heat it so it sticks on the cap?

Do you experience any burn marks with that press? and the patches are they firmly on there? I know stahls has the new one out with the top and bottom heat and im not sure if it worth the 1495$ price tag when you can just get this one..

I always cover the patch with a piece of teflon and that seems to work like a charm. Sometimes I get lines on top of the brim but I can rub them out of the acrylic caps. Also the curve of the platen doesn't conform to the shape of the cap very well so I fill in the gap by using a piece of cloth to put on top of the platen. This allows for even distribution of pressure. I'm glad I bought this one instead of the more expensive one seeing that I dont think that the extra heated platen would make much of a difference in making a patch stick any better in fact there's a point at which the glue can be too hot and you may have to hold the patch onto the hat until it cools enough to bond.

@@thethriftychristian82 would you ever consider making a patch from scratch including the design from computer, perhaps a round patch for a hat? Thanks!
