Omg the dark water drives me nuts! I only use Spider wood in bigger scapes. I find it stays does not leech much...if any at all. MOPANI is one of those woods that leech a ridulous amount. So i keep it to nano scapes that can be water changed more regularly. After about 6 months it does stop. At least for me. The bucket game is real!! I switched to a water pump and it's a game changer. I still have my siphon and bucket for through cleaning days when I want to really clean between the rocks and such. My personal thing I find annoying are my sons sticky fingers on my glass😅 complaining is fun 😂

I don't mind the brown water & tannins, as long as the water's clean. I like the darker, moodier tanks, especially when showing the various layers of a planted tank. I don't use aquasoils. I just use clay, dirt & compost from my garden & washed construction sand capped with decorative sand or gravel. It reminds me of those sand bottle kits that were so popular back in the 90s & it lets me see if there are any major changes to the biome.

First problem is driftwood that won't sink despite boiling and poking holes in it. Second, driftwood that after floating from one end for months sinks after you have every nook filled with moss and now it doesn't get light and the things under it have to be rearranged.

( Kids ) Definitely the most annoying thing about keeping aquariums. Turn your back for two seconds then enough food and chemicals for about six months all sinking to the bottom. Bye bye 70% of my crystal reds 😢 life lesson to son when I made him conduct their feudal in the garden and 🙏 for the hundred or so little soul's

Danny i love the java fern babys. On amazon i purchase 2 inch pots and rockwool place the java fern babys in the pots and then trade them at my L F S for $3.50 each i have about ,23 cents in it so i make about 3.25. The store owner sells them for $7.00 everyone is happy. Its worth the time to me but im retired and have nothing but time. Thanks again for a fun video.

Male Bettas ted to fight each other until death, so where is a pet-shop supposed to keep them ? I purchased several Bettas in cups from the pet-shop and on average they lasted 2-3 years. I'm getting sick of bleeding hearts especially at pet-shops giving me the sob stories about bettas in cups.

Hello Danny , I was just watching a shop owner setting up an OASE canister and he believes that a lot of the micro bubbles are caused from not heating up the 4 ends of the inflow and outflow tubing . He actually recommended bringing a large pot to around 190 * or 87*Celsius . That would take away the tension and make it easier to set up and wearing gloves is recommended for obvious reasons. Hopefully you have not done this before because it does make sense that after reconnecting with softer warm tubes once they cool they should form a seal .

Hi, well that’s an interesting theory, I just wonder why this doesn’t happen with other filters, it’s just a rubber tube 🤔 anyway I used a CO2 reactor and that dissolved everything so all good 😊 the bad part was the very loud motor 😬

Cheers from my fish room channel in Chicago, where I am a happy subscriber to yours :) a beautiful and easy fast grower for that corner could be limnophila sessiliflora? Also, how about Clown killifish. you could have 6 or more. yes they can jump but my experience not nearly as prone to as larger killifish. And they are so darn beautiful!

Brine shrimp larvae won’t be able to eat before their second ecdysis … the don’t even have a mouth … so all letting them grow does is depleting their nutritional value until they actually grow beyond 3rd or 4th ecdysis … usually that is when most population collapse…. so feeding brine shrimp is quite pointless unless you’re interested in themselves. Normally you want to feed them as soon as possible after hatching, because you want to get as much as possible of their nutritional value into your fish

Hardscape or not, "dark start" is a sure fire way for an (almost) algae-free tank. Heartily recommended. 👍 The filter looks like a Superfish one; I have one that looks like that. Strangely, mine lets off a constant "hum", so it's not silent. 😅 The tank is looking excellent. Well done.

In my latest scape i chose crystal red shrimps, a couple of endlers ‘colorado silver’ and a group of otocinclus. Its nice to have some aquatic life and dynamic in the tank that doesnt flee every time someone passes the tank.😊 I had a noisy hangontheback filter as well and fixed this by cutting a small piece of a 6mm co2 hose and putting in on the impeller. Removed vibrations and noise is gone. What about Rotala Bonsai in the left corner of your tank? I love that plant. Nice video, thanks for sharing! Greetings from Norway 😇

I know right… So modest.. When it comes to animals plants, she is beyond creative and will solve it with little to no effort, instinctively and with ease. This is design all the same and a much more complex skill to have and be good at than putting some bedazzling on a flower pot. o_-. Of course it’s obviously fueled by love and understanding Me I would get all OCD and question my choices. When something comes naturally, it’s often assumed by the individual that they don’t have an eye or a knack for it but everyone else knows what’s really going on here. Haha

I don’t know about aquariums but I do like fish and I used to keep care of some goby’s Have you ever considered trying one or two of them?? I think they’re a nice mix with tiny schooling fish and they Stiphodon ornatus has some red orange and bits of teal sometimes and are quite pretty plus have a neat temperament. They also eat a tiny bit of the algae. They won’t need a bunch and they don’t exactly fall into algae eaters but they have that added benefit. Also I think an excellent choice would be the Endlers livebearer guppies. Like fancy guppies which I know is basic but they’re different and cuter somehow!! They seem to be really easy peaceful and cute fish. Plus they have lots of color in the red and blues and blacks! Easy fish I don’t know much about killifish but I think your net idea is a good one. Also if you don’t have too much else I think that one or two Apistograma?? Or the dwarf cichlid fish but I just remember from the pet store that they aren’t at all aggressive like other cichlid fish and they’re quite stunning, they tend to be at the bottom near the soil or lower part of the tank and they docile enough to be with other fishies. Probably not much help but I love your orchid channel and can’t help looking at your pretty aquarium scapes: I worked in a pet shop when I was younger and used to love eating lunch and looking at the fish downstairs while I did so. -L
