    I use to run a REM 1187P for LEO duties. I experienced similar failure, rubber O-ring in the gas system failed during a training cycle with my unit. This was my primary long gun for several years until this failure had me questioning the reliability under heavy use. I switched to AR platform for many years and recently purchased a beretta 1301 tactical. After watching this vid, I hope history does t repeat itself!

  • @MidwesternFC
    @MidwesternFC2 күн бұрын

    I hope the 1301 is good to you. I will say this: I was shooting complete garbage through there for testing and it never failed once. I didint notice the o-ring broke until I cleaned it so although it did break, it kept right on running which I like :-) Thanks for the comment and keep me posted after testing it out.

    Hello, sir and everybody. I am a Portuguesecitizen, and I have been in our army in 1985/6. Some decades before we had this and other Mauser rifles, as well as Mannlichers, etc. The National Republic Guard still uses Mausers on parades. We took them to our ex colonial war which took place in Angola, Mozambique, and Guinea, since 1961 until 1975. We had Lugers too. Most of them from D.W.M. and again, Mauser. All our firearms of the XXth Century were good guns. This is a typical Portuguese contract: the crest, the leather sling, the markings, everything is quite normal. Our State prefer to sell them to other countries, instead of selling our historical guns here. They also got good reasons for it. 1000 Thanks for the video, Sir!!

    Nice piece. I too have one of these passed down to me from my great uncle. It’s equipped with his original purchase receipt and transfer document dated November of 1927. Adjustable rear sight and essentially in mint condition. He purchased it new from the factory and it was shipped via train to his home in Jersey city. Looks like he shot it a few times literally a few times back in the 20’s then it rested in its original box passed on through several other family members in its box in a chest untouched for 90+ years until I eventually received it. He was a construction guy and his claim to fame was his work in the shiny arches atop the Chrysler building in NYC. I was very fond of uncle Philly during my early childhood and he took me into the city to show off his various construction jobs in old NYC. He drove motorcycles and did stunts at horse tracks before the races and was truly a gem to us as a grand story teller. He did so many things and traveled to so many places it was hard to discern fact from fiction, but anytime we looked into any of his tales we found the receipts of validity. This revolver is no exception to his life and tales of the olden days.

  • @MidwesternFC

    That is the best. To have a piece from a family member with all the paperwork, doesn't get much better than that! I love how these can keep us in touch, or at least thinking about, individuals who have passed on. A great way to connect with the past and those we care for.

    I just don’t understand why this first 1301 version everybody is calling Model 2? This video is 2 years old, but Model 2 was first time introduced to American market on the Shot Show in Los Vegas early this year.

  • @MidwesternFC
    @MidwesternFC7 күн бұрын

    Its because at the time this was the 'Gen 2' version of the original 1301 after Beretta did some upgrades including; Gen 2 added an aluminium top rail instead of plastic, a shroud around the bolt release and threaded chokes. Mod. 2 is the new version out recently.
