Thanks for sharing your story. I inherited a Remington 550-1 from my father-in-law. Don't think he every cleaned it. No rust, cleaned up nice. Decent shooter. Love these old 22 rifles.

The deflector plate makes this look like it’s from the American Revolution. This is also my first gun. I love it.

Thanks for all your weird comments over the years on YT. You've been very supportive and I appreciate it.

I really want to put the emphasis on those early semi auto 22 rifles. They are so unique, and a real part of american history. In europe we didn't had so many people owning 22 rifles, and that really makes this rifle a part of american history in itself !

Double check your barrel length; I have 2 copies and my barrels are 24".

@@MidwesternFCThat's okay. I've had one since 1964 that was made in 1941, and I didn't realize that the grooved receiver came out in the 1950s.
