I belive that manners falacies can be half-logic falicies If : participant one arguse that most mammals give live birth and not all mammals give live birth And : participant two points out that the platapus lays eggs Then: a bad manners falacy is applicable This may be less logical than some arguments but it still involves a great deal of logic

This video is equivalent to handing atomic bombs to a group of eight-year-olds along with the code to detonate them, and then giving everyone else the code to cancel detonation.

Question everything, even what I'll say. And what I'll say.. Is often, things indeed can be 2 different ways at the same time. Quantum computers depend on probabilities that shouldn't exist according to physics. As a hypo-therapist or psychologist or even a yogi could tell you, the mind can be turned into it's own prison.. Why would we take it out of a perfectly good self maintained vessel?

Nicomahean Ethics, means "winning the battle", Nike is victory and mahe is battle in Greek. Also the word character, comes from the verb charasso, it means "engraving". So one's character is what has been "engraved" through the environment, information, thoughts, sentiments, habits... Growing in self awareness means that you can start choosing WHAT you are engraving. Eudaimonia, is growing towards free will. EY is a tiny word key in Greek thinking. One of our philosophy teachers in Athens explained it in a very interesting way. E stands for Ellipsis (ΕΛΛΕΙΨΙΣ), lack of something Y stands for Ypervole (ΥΠΕΡΒΟΛΗ) Hyperbole, too much of something. So ΕΥ is achieved through being right in your center of being. The golden ratio. Dialectics...Daimonia, this is where demon comes from. It's the higher self, your pure consciousness, (Socrates was famous for his chats with his demon) of course it was demonized when they started chasing us around, closing the philosophy schools and destroying our temples and cities, but it comes from the verb ΔΑΙΩ DAIO, means providing, dividing, giving the right share to someone. Greetings from Greece 🏛️

It is not a question of whether or not the external world exists, we obviously have to deal with the external world because it just won’t go away lol, it is the fundamental nature of reality that we struggle with. Is it holographic? Would « reality » still exist if I am not here to witness it ? It doesn’t really matter if reality is solid or not . Everything is paradoxal …it is a holographic simulation AND real , simultaneously . Everything is true at one level , yet false on a higher level. We have to learn to be confortable living in a paradox …the center point between 2 opposing views. Not needing a definite true or false answer… its both, or neither . And im ok with that. 😉 Besides, we are very limited in our perception of reality as a whole.

the only scenario i encountered where i fail to see a logical explanation is when the discussion goes to the start of (all / universe) or infinity, mainly because we don't understand time it self at a sufficient level. this doesn't make the conclusion that god exists reasonable if god has no start/ birth why does my explanation need one. can the universe just be seen as a ball that explodes sometimes and creates fragments that we live on until it implodes and starts over in that case the universe would be god.

I've always thought the issue Thomists have concerning Aquinas was that too often they try to present his arguments as fitting what we scientifically know today to give them undeserved merit (similar to theists trying to fit The Book of Revelation to today or woo believers who try to interpret Nostradamus to fit modern events). When you view the argument from the appropriate reference frame, that of a 13th century medieval Italian friar whose greatest influence was Aristotle, then things track a lot better. A lot of people do the same thing with other foundational thinkers/scientists (Darwin immediately comes to mind). I always like to imagine how people like Aquinas would react if they had access to what we know now.

Marquis de Sade ruined my life. I read Justine when I was 17 and fully agreed with what I was reading. People generally associate wisdom with virtue, but vice has so much more knowledge to draw from. I personally don't have the balls to unleash myself, so I fall prey to people that for the most part have no advantage over me except the willingness to be shit bags.

I also feel like you cannot avoid these all the time. My side does it, the other side does it. It is bad when you use it, but sometimes it just comes out like a fallacy.
