thanks for the reviews! I was curious to know how you felt about the LionBrand fisherman wool yarn. I've heard alot of good reviews on it. However, I didn't really like it but I'm new to using wool yarn so I wasn't sure if that's just how pure wool yarn felt.
There are definitely softer wools, but for the price, I think it's still a good choice for projects that won't be worn right next to the skin! I know some people who don't mind it on the skin, though, so I may be on the more sensitive side!
Just a heads up, I bought some of the cotton/cashmere Lotus yarn and loved crocheting with it but it shed/pills terribly. Probably won’t buy again.
good to know!
I have a lot to learn. Thanks for sharing your knowledge ❤❤❤
Thank you so much. I needed to understand this technique. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the tutorial ! I was always a little nervous to try this technique but you make it easy
Very pretty and the drape looks great
🤣
Thank you. Just what I was looking for. Single colour lateral braid. 🤗
love your top, which pattern is it?
This is my Orilla top, it drops on July 15! www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/orilla-3
Thank you for this tutorial! I do have a quick question. Would I just increase on the side where the armholes will go in order to shape the neck more? Thanks! I’m just a bit confused about that part :)
I do this too. I think it’s just how most naturally evolve to fast English knitting.
I'm on the other side of the beltway and zoinks 😢was June hot. I cracked up at your comments about being 43. This is my first summer as a confident knitter and I'm really trying to decide if I'd actually wear something like the patterns you showed.
Sometimes it takes time to find your style groove. I've definitely knit a few things I thought I would wear and then ... not so much.
Yes it is amazing! I have my collection stashed in 8 bins & trying hard not to start a 9th bin 🤣
There may or may not be additional yarn in storage bins in my closet. 🤫
Hi, I say frog it and make something you will truly love with the mislabeled yarn. As you may find yourself looking at the finished project and thinking of it negatively. Alternatively make both versions the one you originally planned in the sport weight and fix the worsted to be in a gauge you’d have knit it in if you’d known what it was from the beginning. And publish both patterns together or separately. Ultimately it’s about doing what makes you happy and with being happiest with your end result and that item being wearable for you. Best of luck what ever you do will be beautiful 😊❤
Yeah, I'm definitely noticing some grumbly feelings when I look at it-mostly just annoyance with myself!

How disappointing for you. I can definitely see this as a vest/slip-over, such a pretty colour.
Hello, I am sorry to hear it was definitely mislabelled ! Things like that can happen. I would suggest to finish the top and to publish it for autumn. It could be a vest or a tee to layer with dresses or long sleeves t shirt. 😊
Good point!
Thank you!! Your normal speed is good but I had to slow you down to 0.5 because my brain is just not getting it as I was already so annoyed with myself and stressed from watching other video tutorials. Playing it on 0.5 makes you sound drunk and it makes me laugh and actually did help to ease off the annoyance and stress I felt. Thanks again!
😝😝 I'm glad it was helpful, whatever the speed. Drunk Knitting Tutorials should be a channel
Thank you. I'm so happy I found you. Subscribed and bing watching your videos..
I'll just buy it all so the yarn doesn't get lonely.
Major concern!
Do it all the time.
Right here 👋
Thank you for being realistic about hot summers! I knew I couldn't be the only knitter in a hot climate (North GA)!
Every day this week is in the 90s, definitely no wool for me!
I love this! I have been living a vegan lifestyle for 20 years, mostly for environmental reasons but also ethical, and been doing fiber art (lika sewing and knitting) for equally long time. Its hard since cotton and linen isnt warming and i dont want to use plastic yarn. This has led to me using wool yarns, since i feel its the lesser of two evils. I just make sure to buy it second hand or the most ethically produced yarns i can find.
We all do the best we can within our circumstances!
This was a great tutorial, the best I have found, so much easier to understand 😊
Awesome, glad it was helpful!
Summer knits, so tempting, but so problematic, right? I am going to use berroco Remix for my Kylie top, don’t be fooled by its description as an Aran yarn, it’s a light worsted. Berroco is notorious for their loopy yarn weights. I’m currently knitting the Pyramid light in remix light which knits up as a fingering. Love your podcast!
Like others, I watched several videos to learn this bind off and yours makes the most sense. Thank you for explaining that there is a one-time two-step set up that DOES NOT REPEAT! This was not clear to me so the first effort came out quite unusual - bound but odd. Now I am no the neckline and will nail it - thanks!!
Awesome, so glad it was helpful!
If you struggle with your stitch being too tight, slide the loop on your left needle towards the tip of that needle. You now have more space to insert your right needle into.
I’m planning on making the Kylie too!
I looooove it!
Thank you for this tutorial! I watched many for this bind off, but yours is the only one that makes sense to me. I appreciate your teaching style.
So glad it was helpful!
To me this style is English knitting 🙂 and also how I knit. Flicking is just the next step where your finger flicks the yarn without your hand leaving the needle. Something English knitters do as they gain speed and experience. I’ve never actually seen anyone knit by holding the yarn. I thought this was just something invented by Continental knitters on KZread who don’t understand how we knit. 😁😝😉
Never ever made a stuffier … until now. I’m on number 4 with more wool to make more! I’m only 83 years old !
Make it and report back to us! 🙂
Ooo I’m excited for that tank and im hoping it’s beginner friendly!
I would say adventurous beginner!
Lovely stitch and useful tutorial. Thanks
I am interested in testing this beautiful top. I'm not quite Sure if I fit in the missing range. I usually wear a 2xl. Bust circumference is about 125 cm.
You would fit the 54" size, but thanks so much for considering! 💗
Theres a tutorial on KZread
This is just too much for a sweater!!!! All you have to do to just have that on top of your shoulder, dang!!
Can you show a bind off for the k1 p2 bind off.
Please and thank you
Out of all the tops/sweaters you showed, I like the one you're wearing the most! Do you have the pattern for it?
This is Kirsten Joel's Willow cardigan!
-pov- i tangeled the entire yarn😂
Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is so helpful as I have a tank top that I need to seam and I have been putting it off 😂
Understandable. 😝I recommend putting something good on to listen to while doing it because it can be a slow process!
@@MediaPeruanaKnits I dread it hence why I have put it off. I have never been good at this before but your tutorial is so clear! I love your videos and thank you for sharing
Absolutely perfect tut!
I have used a round toothpick as a cable needle. Also, I keep a couple of those big wide broccoli rubber bands handy to use as needle stoppers. Just poke your needles right through and your stitches will stay put. They are also great for tightening your interchangeable needles onto the cords. I just found you today (May 14, '24) and have watched you all afternoon!
Great tricks, love the rubber bands idea! Thanks so much for watching!
For the past few months I have been knitting with cotton/cashmere yarns from several companies and absolutely love them. While they arent great for summer, they are great for winter in my warmer climate. I get the best of both worlds with this blend and a very happy
I also live in MD - close-in DC burbs. I simply can’t wear any of these fibers in the summers here. I also spend a lot of time in a second home in the Outer Banks of NC- even worse. I got over the wrinkles in woven linen years ago - most of my summer clothing are linen. I do like these fibers in the spring and the fall. Good tips for knitting with them. Also, I am a big fan of Sandnes Garn Line. It is a good mix, easy on the hands and affordable.
Now that I have a lot of linen I can’t go back! It’s steamy in summer where I am so have of the wrinkles drop anyway.
Schachenmayer Alva is a lovely wool, silk and cotton blend. Thanks for the video, very interesting ❤
I made a jacket for my daughter of KnitPicks Lindy Chain. It was hard to get tension right and felt like knitting with wire, but softened like butter after washing. Knit back and forth with no seaming. No bias noted. Tip: make a large swatch and HANG your swatch for a week or so. It grows in length. It got 30% longer!!! I accounted for that and the jacket was just the right length.
Love this! I made a top that I love from Quince and Co sparrow linen. Doesn’t get wrinkly like a woven linen. Made another top from WAK Pima cotton, it’s nice, but worsted weight is warm even in cotton. Trying Purl Soho Cattail silk now. Magpie Equinox sport is very high on my list of yarns to try soon. Love the wash ability of these summer fibers.
Appreciate feedback after washing if your knit when completed.
Thanks for the info! I need to adjust my knitting because I moved from the northeast to the south!
