😱Overwhelmed by WIPs: Help Me Prioritize! |

I've somehow created a situation in which I have (at least) 15 works in progress and can't get ANYTHING finished-please help!
Join me as I meander through my WIPs and try to figure out what to prioritize so I can actually tally some finished objects.

Test knit, Christmas sweater, baby bear suit, sister’s socks, great gingham raglan, then whatever you want

I'd start with whatever is the closest to being finished and work on it interchangeably with one of the more complicated sweaters when you have momentum. That usually works for me because I feel accomplished for finishing something while also making progress on the thing that seems like it will take the longest. If I focus on too many things at a time I get decision paralysis and end up not working on anything so I always need to narrow down my options, lol.

    Yes, definitely feeling the paralysis!

I’m going through the same thing. Not interested in counting my WIPs. My solution is to recognize why I haven’t worked on each one. Most are because the color(s) do not make me happy (boring color, usually a neutral). So, I prioritized then chose ONE to work on and finish AND cast on an exciting project. Yes, I know, I added a project but forcing myself to knit multiple things I’m not overjoyed by is not productive. Alternating between Knitting a boring with exciting pattern IS working for me. Plus, I’m the only one who wants these projects done and I’m the only one who makes the rules 😊

Hmm, maybe I need to motivate myself with a reward-although I guess getting to use the finished project should be the reward.😝😝

Hello! If I was in your situation I will prioritise 3 WIPs until they are done! And probably forget the knitting gifts. I may focus first on the first knitting test you shown on the video, the teddy bear jumper and the autumn socks (one stripe per day!). After that, I will focus on the nearly finished jumper, the spring socks and the cardigan you began ages ago. When they are done, I may do the green jumper and modify it a little bit (no cables for the back and short sleeves. Next I will dedicate days for the crochet blanket and the scarf until they are finished. And at the end, I will do the other WIPs. I won’t begin any new things until they are all finished ! I know it’s hard but it’s easier that way in my humble opinion. I will keep track of the progress in a knitting journal to keep me motivated ❤

Also if you publish once or twice a month your progress on your KZread channel it may help you. People will encourage you for sure 👍
